The Prince’s Offerings

1  כֹּֽה־ (Thus) אָמַר֮ (says) אֲדֹנָ֣י (the Lord) יְהוִה֒ (YHWH); שַׁ֜עַר (The gateway) הֶחָצֵ֤ר (of the court) הַפְּנִימִית֙ (inner) הַפֹּנֶ֣ה (facing) קָדִ֔ים (the east) יִהְיֶ֣ה (shall be) סָג֔וּר (shut) שֵׁ֖שֶׁת (for the six) יְמֵ֣י (days); הַֽמַּעֲשֶׂ֑ה (of work) וּבְי֤וֹם (and on the day) הַשַּׁבָּת֙ (of the Sabbath) יִפָּתֵ֔חַ (it shall be opened), וּבְי֥וֹם (and on the day) הַחֹ֖דֶשׁ (of the New Moon) יִפָּתֵֽחַ׃ (it shall be opened). 2  וּבָ֣א (And shall enter) הַנָּשִׂ֡יא (the prince) דֶּרֶךְ֩ (by way) אוּלָ֨ם (of the portico) הַשַּׁ֜עַר (of the gateway) מִח֗וּץ (from the outside), וְעָמַד֙ (and stand) עַל־ (by) מְזוּזַ֣ת (the doorpost) הַשַּׁ֔עַר (of the gate), וְעָשׂ֣וּ (and shall prepare) הַכֹּהֲנִ֗ים (the priests) אֶת־ (-) עֽוֹלָתוֹ֙ (his burnt offering) וְאֶת־ (and) שְׁלָמָ֔יו (his peace offerings), וְהִֽשְׁתַּחֲוָ֛ה (and he shall worship) עַל־ (at) מִפְתַּ֥ן (the threshold) הַשַּׁ֖עַר (of the gate); וְיָצָ֑א (and go out); וְהַשַּׁ֥עַר (and the gate) לֹֽא־ (not) יִסָּגֵ֖ר (shall be shut) עַד־ (until) הָעָֽרֶב׃ (the evening). 3  וְהִשְׁתַּחֲו֣וּ (And will bow down) עַם־ (the people) הָאָ֗רֶץ (of the land) פֶּ֚תַח (at the entrance to) הַשַּׁ֣עַר (the gateway) הַה֔וּא (that) בַּשַּׁבָּת֖וֹת (on the Sabbaths) וּבֶחֳדָשִׁ֑ים (and the New Moons) לִפְנֵ֖י (before) יְהוָֽה׃ (YHWH).

4  וְהָ֣עֹלָ֔ה (And the burnt offering) אֲשֶׁר־ (that) יַקְרִ֥ב (shall offer) הַנָּשִׂ֖יא (the prince) לַֽיהוָ֑ה (to YHWH) בְּי֣וֹם (on the day) הַשַּׁבָּ֗ת (of the Sabbath) שִׁשָּׁ֧ה (is six) כְבָשִׂ֛ים (lambs) תְּמִימִ֖ם (unblemished), וְאַ֥יִל (and a ram) תָּמִֽים׃ (unblemished). 5  וּמִנְחָה֙ (And the grain offering) אֵיפָ֣ה (is an ephah) לָאַ֔יִל (for a ram), וְלַכְּבָשִׂ֥ים (and for the lambs) מִנְחָ֖ה (the grain offering) מַתַּ֣ת (is a gift) יָד֑וֹ (of his hand), וְשֶׁ֖מֶן (and oil) הִ֥ין (of a hin) לָאֵיפָֽה׃ (for the ephah). 6  וּבְי֣וֹם (And on the day) הַחֹ֔דֶשׁ (of the New Moon) פַּ֥ר (it is a bull) בֶּן־ (a son) בָּקָ֖ר (of the herd) תְּמִימִ֑ם (unblemished), וְשֵׁ֧שֶׁת (and six) כְּבָשִׂ֛ם (lambs), וָאַ֖יִל (and a ram), תְּמִימִ֥ם (unblemished) יִהְיֽוּ׃ (they shall be). 7  וְאֵיפָ֨ה (And an ephah) לַפָּ֜ר (for a bull), וְאֵיפָ֤ה (and an ephah) לָאַ֙יִל֙ (for a ram), יַעֲשֶׂ֣ה (he shall prepare) מִנְחָ֔ה (as a grain offering), וְלַ֨כְּבָשִׂ֔ים (and for the lambs) כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר (as that) תַּשִּׂ֖יג (can take) יָד֑וֹ (his hand) וְשֶׁ֖מֶן (and oil of) הִ֥ין (a hin) לָאֵיפָֽה׃ (to an ephah). 8  וּבְב֖וֹא (And in the coming in), הַנָּשִׂ֑יא (the prince) דֶּ֣רֶךְ (by way) אוּלָ֤ם (of the portico) הַשַּׁ֙עַר֙ (of the gateway), יָב֔וֹא (he shall come in) וּבְדַרְכּ֖וֹ (and the same way) יֵצֵֽא׃ (he shall go out).

9  וּבְב֨וֹא (And in the coming in) עַם־ (of the people) הָאָ֜רֶץ (of the land) לִפְנֵ֣י (before the face) יְהוָה֮ (of YHWH) בַּמּֽוֹעֲדִים֒ (at the appointed times), הַבָּ֡א (the one coming in) דֶּרֶךְ־ (by way) שַׁ֨עַר (of the gate) צָפ֜וֹן (north) לְהִֽשְׁתַּחֲוֺ֗ת (to worship) יֵצֵא֙ (will go out) דֶּרֶךְ־ (by way) שַׁ֣עַר (of the gate); נֶ֔גֶב (south) וְהַבָּא֙ (and the one coming in) דֶּרֶךְ־ (by way) שַׁ֣עַר (of the gate) נֶ֔גֶב (south) יֵצֵ֖א (will go out) דֶּרֶךְ־ (by way) שַׁ֣עַר (of the gate). צָפ֑וֹנָה (North) לֹ֣א (not) יָשׁ֗וּב (will he return) דֶּ֤רֶךְ (by way) הַשַּׁ֙עַר֙ (of the gate) אֲשֶׁר־ (which) בָּ֣א (he entered), ב֔וֹ (by it) כִּ֥י (but) נִכְח֖וֹ (straight ahead of him) יֵצְאוּ׃ (he will go out).

10  וְֽהַנָּשִׂ֑יא (And the prince) בְּתוֹכָ֤ם (will be in their midst). בְּבוֹאָם֙ (At their coming in), יָב֔וֹא (he will go in); וּבְצֵאתָ֖ם (and at their going out), יֵצֵֽאוּ׃ (he will go out). 11  וּבַחַגִּ֣ים (And at the festivals) וּבַמּוֹעֲדִ֗ים (and the appointed times) תִּהְיֶ֤ה (will be) הַמִּנְחָה֙ (the grain offering) אֵיפָ֤ה (an ephah) לַפָּר֙ (for a bull), וְאֵיפָ֣ה (and an ephah) לָאַ֔יִל (for a ram), וְלַכְּבָשִׂ֖ים (and for the lambs) מַתַּ֣ת (a gift) יָד֑וֹ (of his hand), וְשֶׁ֖מֶן (and oil) הִ֥ין (of a hin) לָאֵיפָֽה׃ס (to an ephah).

12  וְכִֽי־ (When) יַעֲשֶׂה֩ (makes) הַנָּשִׂ֨יא (the prince) נְדָבָ֜ה (a freewill offering) עוֹלָ֣ה (a burnt offering) אֽוֹ־ (or) שְׁלָמִים֮ (peace offerings) נְדָבָ֣ה (a freewill offering) לַֽיהוָה֒ (to YHWH), וּפָ֣תַֽח (then shall be opened) ל֗וֹ (for him) אֶת (-) הַשַּׁ֙עַר֙ (the gate) הַפֹּנֶ֣ה (facing) קָדִ֔ים (the east), וְעָשָׂ֤ה (and he shall prepare) אֶת־ (-) עֹֽלָתוֹ֙ (his burnt offering) וְאֶת־ (and) שְׁלָמָ֔יו (his peace offerings), כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר (as) יַעֲשֶׂ֖ה (he did) בְּי֣וֹם (on the day). הַשַּׁבָּ֑ת (Of the Sabbath) וְיָצָ֛א (and he will go out); וְסָגַ֥ר (and will be shut) אֶת־ (-) הַשַּׁ֖עַר (the gate) אַחֲרֵ֥י (after) צֵאתֽוֹ׃ (his going out).

13  וְכֶ֨בֶשׂ (And a lamb) בֶּן־ (a son) שְׁנָת֜וֹ (of a year) תָּמִ֗ים (unblemished); תַּעֲשֶׂ֥ה (you shall make) עוֹלָ֛ה (as burnt offering) לַיּ֖וֹם (day by day) לַֽיהֹוָ֑ה (to YHWH) בַּבֹּ֥קֶר (morning) בַּבֹּ֖קֶר (by morning) תַּעֲשֶׂ֥ה (you shall make) אֹתֽוֹ׃ (it). 14  וּמִנְחָה֩ (And a grain offering) תַעֲשֶׂ֨ה (you shall prepare) עָלָ֜יו (with it) בַּבֹּ֤קֶר (morning) בַּבֹּ֙קֶר֙ (by morning), שִׁשִּׁ֣ית (a sixth) הָֽאֵיפָ֔ה (of an ephah), וְשֶׁ֛מֶן (of oil), שְׁלִישִׁ֥ית (a third) הַהִ֖ין (of a hin) לָרֹ֣ס (to moisten) אֶת־ (-) הַסֹּ֑לֶת (the fine flour); מִנְחָה֙ (as a grain offering) לַֽיהוָ֔ה (to YHWH). חֻקּ֥וֹת (This is a statute) עוֹלָ֖ם (forever) תָּמִֽיד׃ (in perpetuity). 15  וְעָשׂוּ (They shall prepare) אֶת־ (-) הַכֶּ֧בֶשׂ (the lamb), וְאֶת־ (and) הַמִּנְחָ֛ה (the grain offering), וְאֶת־ (and) הַשֶּׁ֖מֶן (the oil), בַּבֹּ֣קֶר (morning) בַּבֹּ֑קֶר (by morning) עוֹלַ֖ת (as a burnt offering) תָּמִֽיד׃פ (a continual).

16  כֹּה־ (Thus) אָמַ֞ר (says) אֲדֹנָ֣י (the Lord) יְהֹוִ֗ה (YHWH) כִּֽי־ (If) יִתֵּ֨ן (gives) הַנָּשִׂ֤יא (the prince) מַתָּנָה֙ (a gift) לְאִ֣ישׁ (to man) מִבָּנָ֔יו (of his sons), נַחֲלָת֥וֹ (as his inheritance) הִ֖יא (it) לְבָנָ֣יו (to his sons); תִּֽהְיֶ֑ה (shall belong) אֲחֻזָּתָ֥ם (their possession) הִ֖יא (it is) בְּנַחֲלָֽה׃ (by inheritance). 17  וְכִֽי־ (And if) יִתֵּ֨ן (he gives) מַתָּנָ֜ה (a gift) מִנַּחֲלָת֗וֹ (from his inheritance) לְאַחַד֙ (to one) מֵֽעֲבָדָ֔יו (of his servants), וְהָ֤יְתָה (and it will belong) לּוֹ֙ (unto him) עַד־ (until) שְׁנַ֣ת (the year) הַדְּר֔וֹר (of liberty); וְשָׁבַ֖ת (then it will return) לַנָּשִׂ֑יא (to the prince). אַ֚ךְ (Surely it is) נַחֲלָת֔וֹ (his inheritance) בָּנָ֖יו (for his sons) לָהֶ֥ם (unto them) תִּהְיֶֽה׃ (it shall be).

18  וְלֹא־ (Shall not) יִקַּ֨ח (will take) הַנָּשִׂ֜יא (the prince) מִנַּחֲלַ֣ת (from inheritance) הָעָ֗ם (of the people) לְהֽוֹנֹתָם֙ (by evicting them) מֵאֲחֻזָּתָ֔ם (from their property); מֵאֲחֻזָּת֖וֹ (from his own property); יַנְחִ֣ל (he shall provide an inheritance) אֶת־ (-) בָּנָ֑יו (for his sons) לְמַ֙עַן֙ (so) אֲשֶׁ֣ר (that) לֹֽא־ (not) יָפֻ֣צוּ (will be scattered) עַמִּ֔י (My people) אִ֖ישׁ (a man) מֵאֲחֻזָּתֽוֹ׃ (from his property).

The Courts for Boiling and Baking

19  וַיְבִיאֵ֣נִי (And he brought me) בַמָּבוֹא֮ (through the entrance), אֲשֶׁ֣ר (that was) עַל־ (at) כֶּ֣תֶף (the side) הַשַּׁעַר֒ (of the gate), אֶל־ (into) הַלִּשְׁכ֤וֹת (the chambers) הַקֹּ֙דֶשׁ֙ (of the holiness) אֶל־ (for) הַכֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים (the priests), הַפֹּנ֖וֹת (facing) צָפ֑וֹנָה (toward the north); וְהִנֵּה־ (and behold), שָׁ֣ם (there) מָק֔וֹם (was a place) בַּיַּרְכֹתִם (at the extremities) יָֽמָּה׃ס (of the west). 20  וַיֹּ֣אמֶר (And he said) אֵלַ֔י (to me) זֶ֣ה (This is) הַמָּק֗וֹם (the place) אֲשֶׁ֤ר (where) יְבַשְּׁלוּ־ (shall boil) שָׁם֙ (there) הַכֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים (the priests) אֶת־ (-) הָאָשָׁ֖ם (the guilt offering) וְאֶת־ (and) הַחַטָּ֑את (the sin offering), אֲשֶׁ֤ר (and where) יֹאפוּ֙ (they shall bake) אֶת־ (-) הַמִּנְחָ֔ה (the grain offering); לְבִלְתִּ֥י (so as not) הוֹצִ֛יא (to bring them out) אֶל־ (into) הֶחָצֵ֥ר (the court), הַחִֽיצוֹנָ֖ה (outer) לְקַדֵּ֥שׁ (to sanctify) אֶת־ (-) הָעָֽם׃ (the people).

21  וַיּוֹצִיאֵ֗נִי (And he brought me out) אֶל־ (into) הֶֽחָצֵר֙ (the court), הַחִ֣יצֹנָ֔ה (outer) וַיַּ֣עֲבִירֵ֔נִי (and he caused me to pass) אֶל־ (by) אַרְבַּ֖עַת (the four) מִקְצוֹעֵ֣י (corners) הֶחָצֵ֑ר (of the court); וְהִנֵּ֤ה (and behold), חָצֵר֙ (a court). בְּמִקְצֹ֣עַ (In each corner) הֶחָצֵ֔ר (of the court) חָצֵ֖ר (a court) בְּמִקְצֹ֥עַ (in the corner) הֶחָצֵֽר׃ (of the court). 22  בְּאַרְבַּ֜עַת (In the four) מִקְצֹע֤וֹת (corners) הֶֽחָצֵר֙ (of the court) חֲצֵר֣וֹת (were courts) קְטֻר֔וֹת (enclosed) אַרְבָּעִ֣ים (forty) אֹ֔רֶךְ (long) וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֖ים (and thirty) רֹ֑חַב (wide); מִדָּ֣ה (a measure). אַחַ֔ת (Single) לְאַרְבַּעְתָּ֖ם (for their four) מְׄהֻׄקְׄצָׄעֽׄוֹׄתׄ׃ (corners). 23  וְט֨וּר (And there was a row of stones) סָבִ֥יב (all around) בָּהֶ֛ם (in them) סָבִ֖יב (all around) לְאַרְבַּעְתָּ֑ם (the four of them), וּמְבַשְּׁל֣וֹת (and cooking hearths) עָשׂ֔וּי (were made) מִתַּ֥חַת (under) הַטִּיר֖וֹת (the rows) סָבִֽיב׃ (all around).

24  וַיֹּ֖אמֶר (And he said) אֵלָ֑י (to me) אֵ֚לֶּה (These are) בֵּ֣ית (the kitchens) הַֽמְבַשְּׁלִ֔ים (of those boiling), אֲשֶׁ֧ר (where) יְבַשְּׁלוּ־ (will boil) שָׁ֛ם (there) מְשָׁרְתֵ֥י (the ministers) הַבַּ֖יִת (of the temple) אֶת־ (-) זֶ֥בַח (the sacrifices) הָעָֽם׃ (of the people).
