Consecration of the Land

1  וּבְהַפִּֽילְכֶ֨ם (And in your⁺ allotting) אֶת־ (-) הָאָ֜רֶץ (the land) בְּנַחֲלָ֗ה (as an inheritance), תָּרִימוּ֩ (you⁺ shall set apart) תְרוּמָ֨ה (a contribution) לַיהוָ֥ה׀ (to YHWH), קֹדֶשׁ֮ (a holy portion) מִן־ (of) הָאָרֶץ֒ (the land); אֹ֗רֶךְ (its length shall be) חֲמִשָּׁ֨ה (five) וְעֶשְׂרִ֥ים (and twenty) אֶ֙לֶף֙ (thousand) אֹ֔רֶךְ (-) וְרֹ֖חַב (and the width) עֲשָׂ֣רָה (ten) אָ֑לֶף (thousand). קֹדֶשׁ־ (Holy) ה֥וּא (it is) בְכָל־ (in all) גְּבוּלָ֖הּ (its borders) סָבִֽיב׃ (all around).

2  יִהְיֶ֤ה (There shall be) מִזֶּה֙ (from this) אֶל־ (for) הַקֹּ֔דֶשׁ (the sanctuary) חֲמֵ֥שׁ (five) מֵא֛וֹת (hundred) בַּחֲמֵ֥שׁ (by five) מֵא֖וֹת (hundred) מְרֻבָּ֣ע (a square plot) סָבִ֑יב (around); וַחֲמִשִּׁ֣ים (and with fifty) אַמָּ֔ה (cubits) מִגְרָ֥שׁ (open space) ל֖וֹ (for it) סָבִֽיב׃ (all around).

3  וּמִן־ (And from) הַמִּדָּ֤ה (measure) הַזֹּאת֙ (this) תָּמ֔וֹד (you shall measure) אֹ֗רֶךְ (a length) חֲמֵשׁ (of five) וְעֶשְׂרִים֙ (and twenty) אֶ֔לֶף (thousand), וְרֹ֖חַב (and a width) עֲשֶׂ֣רֶת (of ten) אֲלָפִ֑ים (thousand); וּבֽוֹ־ (and in it) יִהְיֶ֥ה (will be) הַמִּקְדָּ֖שׁ (the sanctuary) קֹ֥דֶשׁ (the Holy) קָדָשִֽׁים׃ (of Holies). 4  קֹ֣דֶשׁ (A holy portion) מִן־ (of) הָאָ֜רֶץ (the land) ה֗וּא (it is) לַכֹּ֨הֲנִ֜ים (for the priests) מְשָׁרְתֵ֤י (ministering in) הַמִּקְדָּשׁ֙ (the sanctuary), יִֽהְיֶ֔ה (it is) הַקְּרֵבִ֖ים (who draw near) לְשָׁרֵ֣ת (to minister to) אֶת־ (-) יְהוָ֑ה (YHWH), וְהָיָ֨ה (and it shall be) לָהֶ֤ם (unto them) מָקוֹם֙ (a place) לְבָ֣תִּ֔ים (for houses), וּמִקְדָּ֖שׁ (and a holy place) לַמִּקְדָּֽשׁ׃ (for the sanctuary).

5  וַחֲמִשָּׁ֨ה (And five) וְעֶשְׂרִ֥ים (and twenty) אֶ֙לֶף֙ (thousand) אֹ֔רֶךְ (long), וַעֲשֶׂ֥רֶת (and ten) אֲלָפִ֖ים (thousand) רֹ֑חַב (wide), יִהְיֶה (shall be) לַלְוִיִּם֩ (unto the Levites), מְשָׁרְתֵ֨י (ministering in) הַבַּ֧יִת (the temple), לָהֶ֛ם (for them) לַאֲחֻזָּ֖ה (as a possession) עֶשְׂרִ֥ים (twenty) לְשָׁכֹֽת׃ (chambers).

6  וַאֲחֻזַּ֨ת (And as the possession) הָעִ֜יר (of the city) תִּתְּנ֗וּ (you⁺ shall give) חֲמֵ֤שֶׁת (five) אֲלָפִים֙ (thousand) רֹ֔חַב (wide), וְאֹ֗רֶךְ (and with a length), חֲמִשָּׁ֤ה (of five) וְעֶשְׂרִים֙ (and twenty) אֶ֔לֶף (thousand) לְעֻמַּ֖ת (adjacent to) תְּרוּמַ֣ת (the portion) הַקֹּ֑דֶשׁ (of the holy portion) לְכָל־ (unto all) בֵּ֥ית (of the house) יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל (of Israel) יִהְיֶֽה׃ (it shall be).

The Prince’s Portion

7  וְלַנָּשִׂ֡יא (And for the prince) מִזֶּ֣ה (on this side) וּמִזֶּה֩ (and on this side) לִתְרוּמַ֨ת (of the portion) הַקֹּ֜דֶשׁ (of the holy area) וְלַאֲחֻזַּ֣ת (and of the possession) הָעִ֗יר (of the city), אֶל־ (toward) פְּנֵ֤י (the faces) תְרֽוּמַת־ (of the portion) הַקֹּ֙דֶשׁ֙ (of the holy area) וְאֶל־ (and toward) פְּנֵי֙ (the faces) אֲחֻזַּ֣ת (of the property) הָעִ֔יר (of the city), מִפְּאַת־ (from the side) יָ֣ם (west) יָ֔מָּה (westward), וּמִפְּאַת־ (and from the side) קֵ֖דְמָה (to the east) קָדִ֑ימָה (eastward), וְאֹ֗רֶךְ (and the length is) לְעֻמּוֹת֙ (parallel to) אַחַ֣ד (one) הַחֲלָקִ֔ים (of the portions), מִגְּב֥וּל (from the border) יָ֖ם (west) אֶל־ (to) גְּב֥וּל (the border) קָדִֽימָה׃ (east). 8  לָאָ֛רֶץ (Of the land) יִֽהְיֶה־ (It will be) לּ֥וֹ (unto him) לַֽאֲחֻזָּ֖ה (as a possession) בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל (in Israel);

וְלֹא־ (and not) יוֹנ֨וּ (will oppress) ע֤וֹד (anymore) נְשִׂיאַי֙ (My princes) אֶת־ (-) עַמִּ֔י (My people); וְהָאָ֛רֶץ (and the land) יִתְּנ֥וּ (they will give) לְבֵֽית־ (to the house) יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל (of Israel) לְשִׁבְטֵיהֶֽם׃ס (according to their tribes). 9  כֹּֽה־ (Thus) אָמַ֞ר (says) אֲדֹנָ֣י (the Lord) יְהוִ֗ה (YHWH); רַב־ (Enough) לָכֶם֙ (to you⁺) נְשִׂיאֵ֣י (O princes) יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל (of Israel); חָמָ֤ס (violence) וָשֹׁד֙ (and destruction), הָסִ֔ירוּ (turn aside) וּמִשְׁפָּ֥ט (and justice) וּצְדָקָ֖ה (and righteousness), עֲשׂ֑וּ (do) הָרִ֤ימוּ (stop) גְרֻשֹֽׁתֵיכֶם֙ (your⁺ evictions) מֵעַ֣ל (upon) עַמִּ֔י (My people), נְאֻ֖ם (a declaration) אֲדֹנָ֥י (of the Lord) יְהוִֽה׃ (YHWH).

Honest Scales
(Deuteronomy 25:13–16; Proverbs 11:1–3)

10  מֹֽאזְנֵי־ (Scales), צֶ֧דֶק (righteous) וְאֵֽיפַת־ (ephah), צֶ֛דֶק (and a righteous) וּבַת־ (bath). צֶ֖דֶק (And a righteous) יְהִ֥י (shall be) לָכֶֽם׃ (unto you⁺).

11  הָאֵיפָ֣ה (The ephah) וְהַבַּ֗ת (and the bath) תֹּ֤כֶן (a measure), אֶחָד֙ (of one) יִֽהְיֶ֔ה (shall be) לָשֵׂ֕את (to bear) מַעְשַׂ֥ר (a tenth) הַחֹ֖מֶר (of a homer), הַבָּ֑ת (the bath) וַעֲשִׂירִ֤ת (and a tenth) הַחֹ֙מֶר֙ (of a homer); הָֽאֵיפָ֔ה (the ephah) אֶל־ (according to) הַחֹ֖מֶר (the homer) יִהְיֶ֥ה (will be) מַתְכֻּנְתּֽוֹ׃ (their measure).

12  וְהַשֶּׁ֖קֶל (And the shekel shall be) עֶשְׂרִ֣ים (twenty) גֵּרָ֑ה (gerahs); עֶשְׂרִ֨ים (twenty) שְׁקָלִ֜ים (shekels), חֲמִשָּׁ֧ה (five) וְעֶשְׂרִ֣ים (and twenty) שְׁקָלִ֗ים (shekels), עֲשָׂרָ֤ה (ten) וַחֲמִשָּׁה֙ (and five) שֶׁ֔קֶל (shekels), הַמָּנֶ֖ה (the mina) יִֽהְיֶ֥ה (will be) לָכֶֽם׃ (unto you⁺).

Offerings and Feasts

13  זֹ֥את (This is) הַתְּרוּמָ֖ה (the contribution) אֲשֶׁ֣ר (that) תָּרִ֑ימוּ (you⁺ shall lift up); שִׁשִּׁ֤ית (a sixth) הָֽאֵיפָה֙ (of an ephah) מֵחֹ֣מֶר (from a homer) הַֽחִטִּ֔ים (of the wheat), וְשִׁשִּׁיתֶם֙ (and a sixth) הָֽאֵיפָ֔ה (of an ephah) מֵחֹ֖מֶר (from a homer) הַשְּׂעֹרִֽים׃ (of the barley); 14  וְחֹ֨ק (and the ordinance for) הַשֶּׁ֜מֶן (the oil), הַבַּ֣ת (the bath) הַשֶּׁ֗מֶן (of oil), מַעְשַׂ֤ר (is a tenth) הַבַּת֙ (of a bath) מִן־ (from) הַכֹּ֔ר (each kor), עֲשֶׂ֥רֶת (is ten) הַבַּתִּ֖ים (baths); חֹ֑מֶר (a homer) כִּֽי־ (for) עֲשֶׂ֥רֶת (ten) הַבַּתִּ֖ים (baths are) חֹֽמֶר׃ (a homer); 15  וְשֶׂה־ (and will be a lamb) אַחַ֨ת (one) מִן־ (from) הַצֹּ֤אן (the flock), מִן־ (from) הַמָּאתַ֙יִם֙ (two hundred), מִמַּשְׁקֵ֣ה (from the watering places) יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל (of Israel); לְמִנְחָ֖ה (for each grain offering), וּלְעוֹלָ֣ה (and burnt offering), וְלִשְׁלָמִ֑ים (and peace offering), לְכַפֵּ֣ר (to make atonement) עֲלֵיהֶ֔ם (upon them) נְאֻ֖ם (a declaration) אֲדֹנָ֥י (of the Lord) יְהוִֽה׃ (YHWH).

16  כֹּ֚ל (All) הָעָ֣ם (the people of) הָאָ֔רֶץ (the land) יִהְי֖וּ (shall be) אֶל־ (toward) הַתְּרוּמָ֣ה (contribution) הַזֹּ֑את (this) לַנָּשִׂ֖יא (for the prince) בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ (in Israel). 17  וְעַֽל־ (And concerning) הַנָּשִׂ֣יא (the prince) יִהְיֶ֗ה (it shall be) הָעוֹל֣וֹת (the burnt offerings), וְהַמִּנְחָה֮ (and the grain offering), וְהַנֵּסֶךְ֒ (and the drink offering), בַּחַגִּ֤ים (at the feasts), וּבֶחֳדָשִׁים֙ (and the New Moons), וּבַשַּׁבָּת֔וֹת (and the Sabbaths), בְּכָֽל־ (and at all) מוֹעֲדֵ֖י (the appointed times) בֵּ֣ית (of the house) יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל (of Israel); הֽוּא־ (he) יַעֲשֶׂ֞ה (shall prepare) אֶת־ (-) הַחַטָּ֣את (the sin offering), וְאֶת־ (and) הַמִּנְחָ֗ה (the grain offering), וְאֶת־ (and) הָֽעוֹלָה֙ (the burnt offering), וְאֶת־ (and) הַשְּׁלָמִ֔ים (the peace offerings), לְכַפֵּ֖ר (to make atonement) בְּעַ֥ד (on behalf) בֵּֽית־ (of the house) יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ס (of Israel).

18  כֹּה־ (Thus) אָמַר֮ (says) אֲדֹנָ֣י (the Lord) יְהוִה֒ (YHWH) בָּֽרִאשׁוֹן֙ (In the first month) בְּאֶחָ֣ד (on the first) לַחֹ֔דֶשׁ (of the month), תִּקַּ֥ח (you shall take) פַּר־ (a bull) בֶּן־ (a son) בָּקָ֖ר (of the herd) תָּמִ֑ים (unblemished), וְחִטֵּאתָ֖ (and you shall cleanse from sin) אֶת־ (-) הַמִּקְדָּֽשׁ׃ (the sanctuary). 19  וְלָקַ֨ח (Shall take) הַכֹּהֵ֜ן (the priest) מִדַּ֣ם (from the blood) הַחַטָּ֗את (of the sin offering), וְנָתַן֙ (and put it) אֶל־ (onto) מְזוּזַ֣ת (the doorposts) הַבַּ֔יִת (of the temple), וְאֶל־ (and onto) אַרְבַּ֛ע (the four) פִּנּ֥וֹת (corners) הָעֲזָרָ֖ה (of the ledge) לַמִּזְבֵּ֑חַ (of the altar), וְעַ֨ל־ (and onto) מְזוּזַ֔ת (the doorposts) שַׁ֖עַר (of the gate) הֶחָצֵ֥ר (of the court) הַפְּנִימִֽית׃ (inner). 20  וְכֵ֤ן (And so) תַּֽעֲשֶׂה֙ (you shall do) בְּשִׁבְעָ֣ה (on the seventh) בַחֹ֔דֶשׁ (of the month) מֵאִ֥ישׁ (for each man) שֹׁגֶ֖ה (who errs), וּמִפֶּ֑תִי (and is ignorant); וְכִפַּרְתֶּ֖ם (and you⁺ will make atonement) אֶת־ (-) הַבָּֽיִת׃ (for the temple).

21  בָּ֠רִאשׁוֹן (In the first month) בְּאַרְבָּעָ֨ה (on the four) עָשָׂ֥ר (and tenth) יוֹם֙ (day) לַחֹ֔דֶשׁ (of the month), יִהְיֶ֥ה (will be) לָכֶ֖ם (for you⁺) הַפָּ֑סַח (the Passover), חָ֕ג (a feast of) שְׁבֻע֣וֹת (seven) יָמִ֔ים (days); מַצּ֖וֹת (unleavened bread) יֵאָכֵֽל׃ (shall be eaten). 22  וְעָשָׂ֤ה (And shall prepare) הַנָּשִׂיא֙ (the prince) בַּיּ֣וֹם (on the day) הַה֔וּא (that) בַּעֲד֕וֹ (for himself) וּבְעַ֖ד (and for) כָּל־ (all) עַ֣ם (the people) הָאָ֑רֶץ (of the land) פַּ֖ר (a bull) חַטָּֽאת׃ (as a sin offering). 23  וְשִׁבְעַ֨ת (And on the seven) יְמֵֽי־ (days) הֶחָ֜ג (of the feast) יַעֲשֶׂ֧ה (he shall prepare) עוֹלָ֣ה (a burnt offering) לַֽיהוָ֗ה (to YHWH), שִׁבְעַ֣ת (seven) פָּ֠רִים (bulls) וְשִׁבְעַ֨ת (and seven) אֵילִ֤ים (rams) תְּמִימִם֙ (unblemished) לַיּ֔וֹם (day by day) שִׁבְעַ֖ת (seven) הַיָּמִ֑ים (days); וְחַטָּ֕את (and a sin offering). שְׂעִ֥יר (A kid) עִזִּ֖ים (of the goats) לַיּֽוֹם׃ (day by day). 24  וּמִנְחָ֗ה (And a grain offering) אֵיפָ֥ה (of one ephah) לַפָּ֛ר (for each bull), וְאֵיפָ֥ה (and one ephah) לָאַ֖יִל (for each ram), יַֽעֲשֶׂ֑ה (he shall prepare) וְשֶׁ֖מֶן (and oil of) הִ֥ין (a hin) לָאֵיפָֽה׃ (for each ephah). 25  בַּשְּׁבִיעִ֡י (In the seventh month) בַּחֲמִשָּׁה֩ (on the five) עָשָׂ֨ר (and tenth) י֤וֹם (day) לַחֹ֙דֶשׁ֙ (of the month), בֶּחָ֔ג (during the feast) יַעֲשֶׂ֥ה (he shall do) כָאֵ֖לֶּה (like these) שִׁבְעַ֣ת (seven) הַיָּמִ֑ים (days), כַּֽחַטָּאת֙ (for the sin offering), כָּעֹלָ֔ה (for the burnt offering), וְכַמִּנְחָ֖ה (and the grain offering), וְכַשָּֽׁמֶן׃ס (and the oil).
