לַמְנַצֵּ֣חַ אַל־ תַּ֭שְׁחֵת לְדָוִ֣ד מִכְתָּ֑ם בְּבָרְח֥וֹ מִפְּנֵי־ שָׁ֝א֗וּל בַּמְּעָרָֽה׃ חָנֵּ֤נִי אֱלֹהִ֨ים ׀ חָנֵּ֗נִי כִּ֥י בְךָ֮ חָסָ֪יָה נַ֫פְשִׁ֥י וּבְצֵֽל־ כְּנָפֶ֥יךָ אֶחְסֶ֑ה עַ֝֗ד יַעֲבֹ֥ר הַוּֽוֹת׃ | Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me, for in you my soul takes refuge; in the shadow of your wings I will take refuge, till the storms of destruction pass by. | For the director of music. To the tune of “Do Not Destroy.” Of David. A miktam. When he had fled from Saul into the cave. Have mercy on me, my God, have mercy on me, for in you I take refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed. |
אֶ֭קְרָא לֵֽאלֹהִ֣ים עֶלְי֑וֹן לָ֝אֵ֗ל גֹּמֵ֥ר עָלָֽי׃ | I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me. | I cry out to God Most High, to God, who vindicates me. |
יִשְׁלַ֤ח מִשָּׁמַ֨יִם ׀ וְֽיוֹשִׁיעֵ֗נִי חֵרֵ֣ף שֹׁאֲפִ֣י סֶ֑לָה יִשְׁלַ֥ח אֱ֝לֹהִ֗ים חַסְדּ֥וֹ וַאֲמִתּֽוֹ׃ | He will send from heaven and save me; he will put to shame him who tramples on me. Selah God will send out his steadfast love and his faithfulness! | He sends from heaven and saves me, rebuking those who hotly pursue me— God sends forth his love and his faithfulness. |
נַפְשִׁ֤י ׀ בְּת֥וֹךְ לְבָאִם֮ אֶשְׁכְּבָ֪ה לֹ֫הֲטִ֥ים בְּֽנֵי־ אָדָ֗ם שִׁ֭נֵּיהֶם חֲנִ֣ית וְחִצִּ֑ים וּ֝לְשׁוֹנָ֗ם חֶ֣רֶב חַדָּֽה׃ | My soul is in the midst of lions; I lie down amid fiery beasts— the children of man, whose teeth are spears and arrows, whose tongues are sharp swords. | I am in the midst of lions; I am forced to dwell among ravenous beasts— men whose teeth are spears and arrows, whose tongues are sharp swords. |
ר֣וּמָה עַל־ הַשָּׁמַ֣יִם אֱלֹהִ֑ים עַ֖ל כָּל־ הָאָ֣רֶץ כְּבוֹדֶֽךָ׃ | Be exalted, O God, above the heavens! Let your glory be over all the earth! | Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth. |

They dug a pit in my way, but they have fallen into it themselves. Selah | They spread a net for my feet— I was bowed down in distress. They dug a pit in my path— but they have fallen into it themselves. | |
נָ֘כ֤וֹן לִבִּ֣י אֱ֭לֹהִים נָכ֣וֹן לִבִּ֑י אָ֝שִׁ֗ירָה וַאֲזַמֵּֽרָה׃ | My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast! I will sing and make melody! | My heart, O God, is steadfast, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and make music. |
ע֤וּרָה כְבוֹדִ֗י ע֭וּרָֽה הַנֵּ֥בֶל וְכִנּ֗וֹר אָעִ֥ירָה שָּֽׁחַר׃ | Awake, my glory! Awake, O harp and lyre! I will awake the dawn! | Awake, my soul! Awake, harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn. |
אוֹדְךָ֖ בָעַמִּ֥ים ׀ אֲדֹנָ֑י אֲ֝זַמֶּרְךָ֗ בַּל־ אֻמִּֽים׃ | I will give thanks to you, O Lord, among the peoples; I will sing praises to you among the nations. | I will praise you, Lord, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples. |
כִּֽי־ גָדֹ֣ל עַד־ שָׁמַ֣יִם חַסְדֶּ֑ךָ וְֽעַד־ שְׁחָקִ֥ים אֲמִתֶּֽךָ׃ | For your steadfast love is great to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds. | For great is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies. |
ר֣וּמָה עַל־ שָׁמַ֣יִם אֱלֹהִ֑ים עַ֖ל כָּל־ הָאָ֣רֶץ כְּבוֹדֶֽךָ׃ | Be exalted, O God, above the heavens! Let your glory be over all the earth! | Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth. |
