Give glory to the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.
Let them say so that have been redeemed by the Lord, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy: and gathered out of the countries. Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he has redeemed from trouble Let the redeemed of the LORD tell their story— those he redeemed from the hand of the foe,
From the rising and the setting of the sun, from the north and from the sea. and gathered in from the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south. those he gathered from the lands, from east and west, from north and south.
They wandered in a wilderness, in a place without water: they found not the way of a city for their habitation. Some wandered in desert wastes, finding no way to a city to dwell in; Some wandered in desert wastelands, finding no way to a city where they could settle.
They were hungry and thirsty: their soul fainted in them. hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted within them. They were hungry and thirsty, and their lives ebbed away.
And they cried to the Lord in their tribulation: and he delivered them out of their distresses. Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.
And he led them into the right way: that they might go to a city of habitation. He led them by a straight way till they reached a city to dwell in. He led them by a straight way to a city where they could settle.
Let the mercies of the Lord give glory to him: and his wonderful works to the children of men. Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man! Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind,
For he hath satisfied the empty soul, and hath filled the hungry soul with good things. For he satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things. for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.
Such as sat in darkness and in the shadow of death: bound in want and in iron. Some sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, prisoners in affliction and in irons, Some sat in darkness, in utter darkness, prisoners suffering in iron chains,
Because they had exasperated the words of God: and provoked the counsel of the most High: for they had rebelled against the words of God, and spurned the counsel of the Most High. because they rebelled against God’s commands and despised the plans of the Most High.
And their heart was humbled with labours: they were weakened, and their was none to help them. So he bowed their hearts down with hard labor; they fell down, with none to help. So he subjected them to bitter labor; they stumbled, and there was no one to help.
Then they cried to the Lord in their affliction: and he delivered them out of their distresses. Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress.
And he brought them out of darkness, and the shadow of death; and broke their bonds in sunder. He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and burst their bonds apart. He brought them out of darkness, the utter darkness, and broke away their chains.
Let the mercies of the Lord give glory to him, and his wonderful works to the children of men. Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man! Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind,
Because he hath broken gates of brass, and burst the iron bars. For he shatters the doors of bronze and cuts in two the bars of iron. for he breaks down gates of bronze and cuts through bars of iron.
He took them out of the way of their iniquity: for they were brought low for their injustices. Some were fools through their sinful ways, and because of their iniquities suffered affliction; Some became fools through their rebellious ways and suffered affliction because of their iniquities.
Their soul abhorred all manner of meat: and they drew nigh even to the gates of death. they loathed any kind of food, and they drew near to the gates of death. They loathed all food and drew near the gates of death.
And they cried to the Lord in their affliction: and he delivered them out of their distresses. Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress.
He sent his word, and healed them: and delivered them from their destructions. He sent out his word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction. He sent out his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave.
Let the mercies of the Lord give glory to him: and his wonderful works to the children of men. Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man! Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind.
And let them sacrifice the sacrifice of praise: and declare his works with joy. And let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving, and tell of his deeds in songs of joy! Let them sacrifice thank offerings and tell of his works with songs of joy.
They that go down to the sea in ships, doing business in the great waters: Some went down to the sea in ships, doing business on the great waters; Some went out on the sea in ships; they were merchants on the mighty waters.
These have seen the works of the Lord, and his wonders in the deep. they saw the deeds of the LORD, his wondrous works in the deep. They saw the works of the LORD, his wonderful deeds in the deep.
He said the word, and there arose a storm of wind: and the waves thereof were lifted up. For he commanded and raised the stormy wind, which lifted up the waves of the sea. For he spoke and stirred up a tempest that lifted high the waves.
They mount up to the heavens, and they go down to the depths: their soul pined away with evils. They mounted up to heaven; they went down to the depths; their courage melted away in their evil plight; They mounted up to the heavens and went down to the depths; in their peril their courage melted away.
They were troubled, and reeled like a drunken man; and all their wisdom was swallowed up. they reeled and staggered like drunken men and were at their wits’ end. They reeled and staggered like drunkards; they were at their wits’ end.
And they cried to the Lord in their affliction: and he brought them out of their distresses. Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and he brought them out of their distress.
And he turned the storm into a breeze: and its waves were still. He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed. He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed.
And they rejoiced because they were still: and he brought them to the haven which they wished for. Then they were glad that the waters were quiet, and he brought them to their desired haven. They were glad when it grew calm, and he guided them to their desired haven.
Let the mercies of the Lord give glory to him, and his wonderful works to the children of men. Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man! Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind.
And let them exalt him in the church of the people: and praise him in the chair of the ancients. Let them extol him in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders. Let them exalt him in the assembly of the people and praise him in the council of the elders.
He hath turned rivers into a wilderness: and the sources of water into dry ground: He turns rivers into a desert, springs of water into thirsty ground, He turned rivers into a desert, flowing springs into thirsty ground,
A fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein. a fruitful land into a salty waste, because of the evil of its inhabitants. and fruitful land into a salt waste, because of the wickedness of those who lived there.
He hath turned a wilderness into pools of water, and a dry land into water springs. He turns a desert into pools of water, a parched land into springs of water. He turned the desert into pools of water and the parched ground into flowing springs;
And hath placed there the hungry; and they made a city for their habitation. And there he lets the hungry dwell, and they establish a city to live in; there he brought the hungry to live, and they founded a city where they could settle.
And they sowed fields, and planted vineyards: and they yielded fruit of birth. they sow fields and plant vineyards and get a fruitful yield. They sowed fields and planted vineyards that yielded a fruitful harvest;
And he blessed them, and they were multiplied exceedingly: and their cattle he suffered not to decrease. By his blessing they multiply greatly, and he does not let their livestock diminish. he blessed them, and their numbers greatly increased, and he did not let their herds diminish.
Then they were brought to be few: and they were afflicted through the trouble of evils and sorrow. When they are diminished and brought low through oppression, evil, and sorrow, Then their numbers decreased, and they were humbled by oppression, calamity and sorrow;
Contempt was poured forth upon their princes: and he caused them to wander where there was no passing, and out of the way. he pours contempt on princes and makes them wander in trackless wastes; he who pours contempt on nobles made them wander in a trackless waste.
And he helped the poor out of poverty: and made him families like a flock of sheep. but he raises up the needy out of affliction and makes their families like flocks. But he lifted the needy out of their affliction and increased their families like flocks.
The just shall see, and shall rejoice, and all iniquity shall stop their mouth. The upright see it and are glad, and all wickedness shuts its mouth. The upright see and rejoice, but all the wicked shut their mouths.
Who is wise, and will keep these things: and will understand the mercies of the Lord? Whoever is wise, let him attend to these things; let them consider the steadfast love of the LORD. Let the one who is wise heed these things and ponder the loving deeds of the LORD.
