<V 106:1>Alleluia. Confess to the Lord, for he is good, for his mercy is with every generation. Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.
<V 106:2>Let those who have been redeemed by the Lord say so: those whom he redeemed from the hand of the enemy and gathered from the regions, Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he has redeemed from trouble Let the redeemed of the LORD tell their story— those he redeemed from the hand of the foe,
<V 106:3>from the rising of the sun and its setting, from the north and from the sea. and gathered in from the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south. those he gathered from the lands, from east and west, from north and south.
<V 106:4>They wandered into solitude in a waterless place. They did not find the way of the city to be their dwelling place. Some wandered in desert wastes, finding no way to a city to dwell in; Some wandered in desert wastelands, finding no way to a city where they could settle.
<V 106:5>They were hungry, and they were thirsty. Their soul fainted within them. hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted within them. They were hungry and thirsty, and their lives ebbed away.
<V 106:6>And they cried out to the Lord in tribulation, and he rescued them in their necessity. Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.
<V 106:7>And he led them in the right way, so that they might go forth to a city of habitation. He led them by a straight way till they reached a city to dwell in. He led them by a straight way to a city where they could settle.
<V 106:8>Let his mercies confess to the Lord, and let his miracles confess to the sons of men. Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man! Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind,
<V 106:9>For he has satisfied the empty soul, and he has satisfied the hungry soul with good things: For he satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things. for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.
<V 106:10>those sitting in darkness and in the shadow of death, shackled by extreme poverty and by iron. Some sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, prisoners in affliction and in irons, Some sat in darkness, in utter darkness, prisoners suffering in iron chains,
<V 106:11>For they exasperated the eloquence of God, and they irritated the deliberation of the Most High. for they had rebelled against the words of God, and spurned the counsel of the Most High. because they rebelled against God’s commands and despised the plans of the Most High.
<V 106:12>And their heart was brought low with hardships. They were weakened, and there was no one to help them. So he bowed their hearts down with hard labor; they fell down, with none to help. So he subjected them to bitter labor; they stumbled, and there was no one to help.
<V 106:13>And they cried out to the Lord in their tribulation, and he freed them from their distress. Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress.
<V 106:14>And he led them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and he broke apart their chains. He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and burst their bonds apart. He brought them out of darkness, the utter darkness, and broke away their chains.
<V 106:15>Let his mercies confess to the Lord, and let his miracles confess to the sons of men. Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man! Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind,
<V 106:16>For he has crushed the gates of brass and broken the iron bars. For he shatters the doors of bronze and cuts in two the bars of iron. for he breaks down gates of bronze and cuts through bars of iron.
<V 106:17>He has taken them up, from the way of their iniquity. For they were brought low, because of their injustices. Some were fools through their sinful ways, and because of their iniquities suffered affliction; Some became fools through their rebellious ways and suffered affliction because of their iniquities.
<V 106:18>Their soul abhorred all food, and they drew near even to the gates of death. they loathed any kind of food, and they drew near to the gates of death. They loathed all food and drew near the gates of death.
<V 106:19>And they cried out to the Lord in their tribulation, and he delivered them in their necessity. Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress.
<V 106:20>He sent his word, and he healed them, and he rescued them from their utter destruction. He sent out his word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction. He sent out his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave.
<V 106:21>Let his mercies confess to the Lord, and let his miracles confess to the sons of men. Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man! Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind.
<V 106:22>And let them offer sacrifice with the sacrifice of praise, and let them announce his works in exultation. And let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving, and tell of his deeds in songs of joy! Let them sacrifice thank offerings and tell of his works with songs of joy.
<V 106:23>Those who descend to the sea in ships, making their livelihood in the great waters: Some went down to the sea in ships, doing business on the great waters; Some went out on the sea in ships; they were merchants on the mighty waters.
<V 106:24>these have seen the works of the Lord and his wonders in the deep. they saw the deeds of the LORD, his wondrous works in the deep. They saw the works of the LORD, his wonderful deeds in the deep.
<V 106:25>He spoke: and a windstorm stood up, and its waves were exalted. For he commanded and raised the stormy wind, which lifted up the waves of the sea. For he spoke and stirred up a tempest that lifted high the waves.
<V 106:26>They ascend even to the heavens, and they descend even to the abyss. Their soul will waste away in distress. They mounted up to heaven; they went down to the depths; their courage melted away in their evil plight; They mounted up to the heavens and went down to the depths; in their peril their courage melted away.
<V 106:27>They were troubled, and they moved like a drunkard, and all their wisdom was consumed. they reeled and staggered like drunken men and were at their wits’ end. They reeled and staggered like drunkards; they were at their wits’ end.
<V 106:28>And they cried out to the Lord in their tribulation, and he led them out of their distress. Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and he brought them out of their distress.
<V 106:29>And he replaced the storm with a breeze, and its waves were stilled. He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed. He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed.
<V 106:30>And they were joyful that it was stilled, and he led them into the haven that they desired. Then they were glad that the waters were quiet, and he brought them to their desired haven. They were glad when it grew calm, and he guided them to their desired haven.
<V 106:31>Let his mercies confess to the Lord, and let his miracles confess to the sons of men. Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man! Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind.
<V 106:32>And let them exalt him in the Church of the people, and praise him in the chair of the elders. Let them extol him in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders. Let them exalt him in the assembly of the people and praise him in the council of the elders.
<V 106:33>He has placed rivers in the desert and sources of water in dry places, He turns rivers into a desert, springs of water into thirsty ground, He turned rivers into a desert, flowing springs into thirsty ground,
<V 106:34>a fruit-bearing land in the midst of brine, before the malice of those who dwell in it. a fruitful land into a salty waste, because of the evil of its inhabitants. and fruitful land into a salt waste, because of the wickedness of those who lived there.
<V 106:35>He has placed a desert in the midst of pools of waters, and a land without water in the midst of sources of water. He turns a desert into pools of water, a parched land into springs of water. He turned the desert into pools of water and the parched ground into flowing springs;
<V 106:36>And he has gathered the hungry together there, and they constructed a city of habitation. And there he lets the hungry dwell, and they establish a city to live in; there he brought the hungry to live, and they founded a city where they could settle.
<V 106:37>And they sowed fields and planted vineyards, and they produced the fruit of nativity. they sow fields and plant vineyards and get a fruitful yield. They sowed fields and planted vineyards that yielded a fruitful harvest;
<V 106:38>And he blessed them, and they were multiplied exceedingly. And he did not diminish their beasts of burden. By his blessing they multiply greatly, and he does not let their livestock diminish. he blessed them, and their numbers greatly increased, and he did not let their herds diminish.
<V 106:39>And they became few, and they were afflicted by the tribulation of evils and of sorrow. When they are diminished and brought low through oppression, evil, and sorrow, Then their numbers decreased, and they were humbled by oppression, calamity and sorrow;
<V 106:40>Contempt was poured over their leaders, and he caused them to wander in an impassable place, and not on the way. he pours contempt on princes and makes them wander in trackless wastes; he who pours contempt on nobles made them wander in a trackless waste.
<V 106:41>And he helped the poor out of destitution, and he stationed families like sheep. but he raises up the needy out of affliction and makes their families like flocks. But he lifted the needy out of their affliction and increased their families like flocks.
<V 106:42>The upright will see, and they will rejoice. And every iniquity will block its mouth. The upright see it and are glad, and all wickedness shuts its mouth. The upright see and rejoice, but all the wicked shut their mouths.
<V 106:43>Who is wise and will keep these things? And who will understand the mercies of the Lord? Whoever is wise, let him attend to these things; let them consider the steadfast love of the LORD. Let the one who is wise heed these things and ponder the loving deeds of the LORD.
