For this could have been sold for a large sum and given to the poor.” This might have been sold for a great deal and given to the poor.” For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor. For this perfume could have been sold for a high price and the money given to the poor.”
But Jesus, aware of this, said to them, “Why do you trouble the woman? For she has done a beautiful thing to me. But Jesus, aware of this, said to them, “Why are you bothering this woman? She has done a noble thing for Me. When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me. But Jesus, aware of this, said to them, “Why are you bothering the woman? For she has done a good deed for Me.
For you always have the poor with you, but you will not always have me. You always have the poor with you, but you do not always have Me. For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always. For you always have the poor with you; but you do not always have Me.
In pouring this ointment on my body, she has done it to prepare me for burial. By pouring this fragrant oil on My body, she has prepared Me for burial. For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial. For when she poured this perfume on My body, she did it to prepare Me for burial.
Truly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will also be told in memory of her.” I assure you: Wherever this gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be told in memory of her.” Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her. It would have been better for that man if he had not been born.” The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born. Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad. Then Jesus said to them, “You will all fall away because of Me this night, for it is written: ‘I WILL STRIKE THE SHEPHERD, AND THE SHEEP OF THE FLOCK WILL BE SCATTERED.’

Jesus said to him, “Truly I say to you that this very night, before a rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.”
Peter said to him, “Even if I must die with you, I will not deny you!” And all the disciples said the same. Even if I have to die with You,” Peter told Him, “I will never deny You!” And all the disciples said the same thing. Peter said unto him, Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples. Peter said to Him, “Even if I have to die with You, I will not deny You!” All the disciples said the same thing as well.
Then Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to his disciples, “Sit here, while I go over there and pray.” Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and He told the disciples, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.” Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder. 38 Then he said to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to death; remain here, and watch with me.” Then He said to them, “My soul is swallowed up in sorrow—to the point of death. Remain here and stay awake with Me.” Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me. Then He said to them, “My soul is deeply grieved, to the point of death; remain here and keep watch with Me.”
And going a little farther he fell on his face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.” Going a little farther, He fell facedown and prayed, “My Father! If it is possible, let this cup pass from Me. Yet not as I will, but as You will.” And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. And He went a little beyond them, and fell on His face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as You will.”
And he came to the disciples and found them sleeping. And he said to Peter, “So, could you not watch with me one hour? Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping. He asked Peter, “So, couldn’t you stay awake with Me one hour? And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour? And He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and He said to Peter, “So, you men could not keep watch with Me for one hour?
Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Stay awake and pray, so that you won’t enter into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. Keep watching and praying, so that you do not come into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
Again, for the second time, he went away and prayed, “My Father, if this cannot pass unless I drink it, your will be done.” Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, “My Father, if this cannot pass unless I drink it, Your will be done.” He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done. He went away again a second time and prayed, saying, “My Father, if this cup cannot pass away unless I drink from it, Your will be done.”
And again he came and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy. And He came again and found them sleeping, because they could not keep their eyes open. And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy. Again He came and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy.
So, leaving them again, he went away and prayed for the third time, saying the same words again. After leaving them, He went away again and prayed a third time, saying the same thing once more. And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words. And He left them again, and went away and prayed a third time, saying the same thing once more.
Then he came to the disciples and said to them, “Sleep and take your rest later on. See, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. Then He came to the disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Look, the time is near. The Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners. Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. Then He came to the disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Behold, the hour is at hand and the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners.
Rise, let us be going; see, my betrayer is at hand.” Get up; let’s go! See, My betrayer is near.” Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me. Get up, let’s go; behold, the one who is betraying Me is near!”
While he was still speaking, Judas came, one of the twelve, and with him a great crowd with swords and clubs, from the chief priests and the elders of the people. While He was still speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, suddenly arrived. A large mob, with swords and clubs, was with him from the chief priests and elders of the people. And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people. And while He was still speaking, behold, Judas, one of the twelve, came accompanied by a large crowd with swords and clubs, who came from the chief priests and elders of the people.
Now the betrayer had given them a sign, saying, “The one I will kiss is the man; seize him.” His betrayer had given them a sign: “The One I kiss, He’s the One; arrest Him!” Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast. Now he who was betraying Him gave them a sign previously, saying, “Whomever I kiss, He is the one; arrest Him.”
And he came up to Jesus at once and said, “Greetings, Rabbi!” And he kissed him. So he went right up to Jesus and said, “Greetings, Rabbi!” and kissed Him. And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him. And immediately Judas went up to Jesus and said, “Greetings, Rabbi!” and kissed Him.
Jesus said to him, “Friend, do what you came to do.” Then they came up and laid hands on Jesus and seized him. “Friend,” Jesus asked him, “why have you come?” Then they came up, took hold of Jesus, and arrested Him. And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus, and took him. But Jesus said to him, “Friend, do what you have come for.” Then they came and laid hands on Jesus and arrested Him.
And behold, one of those who were with Jesus stretched out his hand and drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his ear. At that moment one of those with Jesus reached out his hand and drew his sword. He struck the high priest’s slave and cut off his ear. And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest's, and smote off his ear. And behold, one of those who were with Jesus reached and drew his sword, and struck the slave of the high priest and cut off his ear.
Then Jesus said to him, “Put your sword back into its place. For all who take the sword will perish by the sword. Then Jesus told him, “Put your sword back in its place because all who take up a sword will perish by a sword. Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword. Then Jesus said to him, “Put your sword back into its place; for all those who take up the sword will perish by the sword.
Do you think that I cannot appeal to my Father, and he will at once send me more than twelve legions of angels? Or do you think that I cannot call on My Father, and He will provide Me at once with more than 12 legions of angels? Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels? Or do you think that I cannot appeal to My Father, and He will at once put at My disposal more than twelve legions of angels?
But how then should the Scriptures be fulfilled, that it must be so?” How, then, would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen this way?” But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be? How then would the Scriptures be fulfilled, which say that it must happen this way?”
At that hour Jesus said to the crowds, “Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs to capture me? Day after day I sat in the temple teaching, and you did not seize me. At that time Jesus said to the crowds, “Have you come out with swords and clubs, as if I were a criminal, to capture Me? Every day I used to sit, teaching in the temple complex, and you didn’t arrest Me. In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me. At that time Jesus said to the crowds, “Have you come out with swords and clubs to arrest Me as you would against a man inciting a revolt? Every day I used to sit within the temple grounds teaching, and you did not arrest Me.
But all this has taken place that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples left him and fled. But all this has happened so that the prophetic Scriptures would be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples deserted Him and ran away. But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled. But all this has taken place so that the Scriptures of the prophets will be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples left Him and fled.
Then those who had seized Jesus led him to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders had gathered. Those who had arrested Jesus led Him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders had convened. And they that had laid hold on Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled. Those who had arrested Jesus led Him away to Caiaphas, the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were gathered together.
And Peter was following him at a distance, as far as the courtyard of the high priest, and going inside he sat with the guards to see the end. Meanwhile, Peter was following Him at a distance right to the high priest’s courtyard. He went in and was sitting with the temple police to see the outcome. But Peter followed him afar off unto the high priest's palace, and went in, and sat with the servants, to see the end. But Peter was following Him at a distance, as far as the courtyard of the high priest, and he came inside and sat down with the officers to see the outcome.
Now the chief priests and the whole council were seeking false testimony against Jesus that they might put him to death, The chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were looking for false testimony against Jesus so they could put Him to death. Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death; Now the chief priests and the entire Council kept trying to obtain false testimony against Jesus, so that they might put Him to death.
but they found none, though many false witnesses came forward. At last two came forward But they could not find any, even though many false witnesses came forward. Finally, two who came forward But found none: yea, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last came two false witnesses, They did not find any, even though many false witnesses came forward. But later on two came forward,
and said, “This man said, ‘I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to rebuild it in three days.’” stated, “This man said, ‘I can demolish God’s sanctuary and rebuild it in three days.’” And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days. and said, “This man stated, ‘I am able to destroy the temple of God and to rebuild it in three days.’”
And the high priest stood up and said, “Have you no answer to make? What is it that these men testify against you?” The high priest then stood up and said to Him, “Don’t You have an answer to what these men are testifying against You?” And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee? The high priest stood up and said to Him, “Do You offer no answer for what these men are testifying against You?”
But Jesus remained silent. And the high priest said to him, “I adjure you by the living God, tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God.” But Jesus kept silent. Then the high priest said to Him, “By the living God I place You under oath: tell us if You are the Messiah, the Son of God!” But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God. But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest said to Him, “I place You under oath by the living God, to tell us whether You are the Christ, the Son of God.”
Jesus said to him, “You have said so. But I tell you, from now on you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power and coming on the clouds of heaven.” “You have said it,” Jesus told him. “But I tell you, in the future you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of the Power and coming on the clouds of heaven.” Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. Jesus said to him, “You have said it yourself. But I tell you, from now on you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.”
Then the high priest tore his robes and said, “He has uttered blasphemy. What further witnesses do we need? You have now heard his blasphemy. Then the high priest tore his robes and said, “He has blasphemed! Why do we still need witnesses? Look, now you’ve heard the blasphemy! Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy. Then the high priest tore his robes and said, “He has blasphemed! What further need do we have of witnesses? See, you have now heard the blasphemy;
What is your judgment?” They answered, “He deserves death.” What is your decision?” They answered, “He deserves death!” What think ye? They answered and said, He is guilty of death. what do you think?” They answered, “He deserves death!”
Then they spit in his face and struck him. And some slapped him, Then they spit in His face and beat Him; others slapped Him Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands, Then they spit in His face and beat Him with their fists; and others slapped Him,
saying, “Prophesy to us, you Christ! Who is it that struck you?” and said, “Prophesy to us, Messiah! Who hit You?” Saying, Prophesy unto us, thou Christ, Who is he that smote thee? and said, “Prophesy to us, You Christ; who is the one who hit You?”
Now Peter was sitting outside in the courtyard. And a servant girl came up to him and said, “You also were with Jesus the Galilean.” Now Peter was sitting outside in the courtyard. A servant approached him and she said, “You were with Jesus the Galilean too.” Now Peter sat without in the palace: and a damsel came unto him, saying, Thou also wast with Jesus of Galilee. Now Peter was sitting outside in the courtyard, and a slave woman came to him and said, “You too were with Jesus the Galilean.”
But he denied it before them all, saying, “I do not know what you mean.” But he denied it in front of everyone: “I don’t know what you’re talking about!” But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what thou sayest. But he denied it before them all, saying, “I do not know what you are talking about.”
And when he went out to the entrance, another servant girl saw him, and she said to the bystanders, “This man was with Jesus of Nazareth.” When he had gone out to the gateway, another woman saw him and told those who were there, “This man was with Jesus the Nazarene!” And when he was gone out into the porch, another maid saw him, and said unto them that were there, This fellow was also with Jesus of Nazareth. When he had gone out to the gateway, another slave woman saw him and said to those who were there, “This man was with Jesus of Nazareth.”
And again he denied it with an oath: “I do not know the man.” And again he denied it with an oath, “I don’t know the man!” And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man. And again he denied it, with an oath: “I do not know the man.”
