It represents a substantial period in which Jehu had the opportunity to influence the spiritual direction of Israel. However, despite his initial zeal, Jehu failed to fully turn Israel back to God, as he continued in the sins of Jeroboam. This serves as a sobering reminder of the need for perseverance in faith and obedience, and the impact of a leader's spiritual legacy on future generations.
