2And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, "Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?" | 2And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals?” | 2And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, "Who is worthy to open the book and to break its seals?" | 2And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? | 2I also saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, "Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals?" |
3But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it. | 3And no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or to look into it, | 3And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the book or to look into it. | 3And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. | 3But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or even to look in it. |
4I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside. | 4and I began to weep loudly because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or to look into it. | 4Then I began to weep greatly because no one was found worthy to open the book or to look into it; | 4And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. | 4And I cried and cried because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or even to look in it. |
The Lamb is Worthy 5Then one of the elders said to me, "Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals." | 5And one of the elders said to me, “Weep no more; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals.” | 5and one of the elders said to me, "Stop weeping; behold, the Lion that is from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome so as to open the book and its seven seals." | 5And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. | 5Then one of the elders said to me, "Stop crying. Look! The Lion from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has been victorious so that He may open the scroll and its seven seals." |
6Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth. | 6And between the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders I saw a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain, with seven horns and with seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth. | 6And I saw between the throne (with the four living creatures) and the elders a Lamb standing, as if slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God, sent out into all the earth. | 6And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. | 6Then I saw One like a slaughtered lamb standing between the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders. 9And they sang a new song, saying: "You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation. | 9And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, | 9And they sang a new song, saying, "Worthy are You to take the book and to break its seals; for You were slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation. | 9And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; | 9And they sang a new song: You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because You were slaughtered, and You redeemed people for God by Your blood from every tribe and language and people and nation. |
10You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth." | 10and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth.” | 10"You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God; and they will reign upon the earth." | 10And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. | 10You made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they will reign on the earth. |
The Lamb Exalted 11Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. | 11Then I looked, and I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of many angels, numbering myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, | 11Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and the number of them was myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands, | 11And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; | 11Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels around the throne, and also of the living creatures and of the elders. Their number was countless thousands, plus thousands of thousands. |
12In a loud voice they were saying: "Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!" | 12saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!” | 12saying with a loud voice, "Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing." | 12Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. | 12They said with a loud voice: The Lamb who was slaughtered is worthy to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing! |
13Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying: "To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!" | 13And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying, “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!” | 13And every created thing which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all things in them, I heard saying, "To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing and honor and glory and dominion forever and ever." | 13And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. | 13I heard every creature in heaven, on earth, under the earth, on the sea, and everything in them say: Blessing and honor and glory and dominion to the One seated on the throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever! |
14The four living creatures said, "Amen," and the elders fell down and worshiped. | 14And the four living creatures said, “Amen!” and the elders fell down and worshiped. | 14And the four living creatures kept saying, "Amen." And the elders fell down and worshiped. | 14And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever. | 14The four living creatures said, "Amen," and the elders fell down and worshiped. |
