Parallel Chapters Josiah Restores the Passover
(2 Kings 23:21-27) | 1Josiah celebrated the Passover to the LORD in Jerusalem, and the Passover lamb was slaughtered on the fourteenth day of the first month. | 1Josiah kept a Passover to the LORD in Jerusalem. Josiah Slain at Megiddo

I am not coming against you this day, but against the house with which I am at war. And God has commanded me to hurry. I am not coming against you today but against the house with which I am at war, and God has ordered me to hurry. I have not come against you today but I am fighting another dynasty. God told me to hurry. Stop opposing God who is with me; don't make Him destroy you!" |
| 22Josiah, however, would not turn away from him, but disguised himself to engage him in battle. He would not listen to what Necho had said at God's command but went to fight him on the plain of Megiddo. | 22Nevertheless, Josiah did not turn away from him, but disguised himself in order to fight with him. Laments for Josiah | 25Jeremiah composed laments for Josiah, and to this day all the male and female singers commemorate Josiah in the laments. These became a tradition in Israel and are written in the Laments. | 25Jeremiah also uttered a lament for Josiah; and all the singing men and singing women have spoken of Josiah in their laments to this day. They made these a rule in Israel; behold, they are written in the Laments. | 25Then Jeremiah chanted a lament for Josiah. And all the male and female singers speak about Josiah in their lamentations to this day.
