| 1Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, | 1Now brothers, I want to clarify for you the gospel I proclaimed to you; you received it and have taken your stand on it. |
| 2by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. | 2You are also saved by it, if you hold to the message I proclaimed to you--unless you believed for no purpose. |
| 3For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, | 3For I passed on to you as most important what I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, |

| 32If, in the manner of men, I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantage is it to me?
