So Bezalel and Oholiab and every skilled person in whom the LORD has put skill and ability to know how to do all the work for the service of the sanctuary are to do the work according to all that the LORD has commanded." 1Bezalel, Oholiab, and all the skilled people are to work based on everything the LORD has commanded. The LORD has given them wisdom and understanding to know how to do all the work of constructing the sanctuary."
Moses summoned Bezalel and Oholiab and every skilled person in whom the LORD had put skill--everyone whose heart stirred him to volunteer to do the work,2So Moses summoned Bezalel, Oholiab, and every skilled person in whose heart the LORD had placed wisdom, everyone whose heart moved him, to come to the work and do it.
and they received from Moses all the offerings the Israelites had brought to do the work for the service of the sanctuary, and they still continued to bring him a freewill offering each morning.3They took from Moses' presence all the contributions that the Israelites had brought for the task of making the sanctuary. Meanwhile, the people continued to bring freewill offerings morning after morning.
So all the skilled people who were doing all the work on the sanctuary came from the work they were doing4Then all the craftsmen who were doing all the work for the sanctuary came one by one from the work they were doing
and told Moses, "The people are bringing much more than is needed for the completion of the work which the LORD commanded us to do!" 5and said to Moses, "The people are bringing more than is needed for the construction of the work the LORD commanded to be done."
Moses instructed them to take his message throughout the camp, saying, "Let no man or woman do any more work for the offering for the sanctuary." So the people were restrained from bringing any more.6After Moses gave an order, they sent a proclamation throughout the camp: "Let no man or woman make anything else as an offering for the sanctuary." So the people stopped.
Now the materials were more than enough for them to do all the work. 7The materials were sufficient for them to do all the work. There was more than enough.
All the skilled among those who were doing the work made the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twisted linen and blue and purple and scarlet; they were made with cherubim that were the work of an artistic designer.8All the skilled craftsmen among those doing the work made the tabernacle with 10 curtains. Bezalel made them of finely spun linen, as well as blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, with a design of cherubim worked into them.
The length of one curtain was forty-two feet, and the width of one curtain was six feet--the same size for each of the curtains.9The length of each curtain was 42 feet, and the width of each curtain six feet; all the curtains had the same measurements.
He joined five of the curtains to one another, and the other five curtains he joined to one another.10He joined five of the curtains to each other, and the other five curtains he joined to each other.
He made loops of blue material along the edge of the end curtain in the first set; he did the same along the edge of the end curtain in the second set.11He made loops of blue yarn on the edge of the last curtain in the first set and did the same on the edge of the outermost curtain in the second set.
He made fifty loops on the first curtain, and he made fifty loops on the end curtain that was in the second set, with the loops opposite one another.12He made 50 loops on the one curtain and 50 loops on the edge of the curtain in the second set, so that the loops lined up with each other.
He made fifty gold clasps and joined the curtains together to one another with the clasps, so that the tabernacle was a unit. 13He also made 50 gold clasps and joined the curtains to each other, so that the tabernacle became a single unit.
He made curtains of goats' hair for a tent over the tabernacle; he made eleven curtains.14He made curtains of goat hair for a tent over the tabernacle; he made 11 of them.
The length of one curtain was forty-five feet, and the width of one curtain was six feet--one size for all eleven curtains.15The length of each curtain was 45 feet, and the width of each curtain six feet. All 11 curtains had the same measurements.
He joined five curtains by themselves and six curtains by themselves.16He joined five of the curtains together, and the other six together.
He made fifty loops along the edge of the end curtain in the first set and fifty loops along the edge of the curtain that joined the second set.17He made 50 loops on the edge of the outermost curtain in the first set and 50 loops on the edge of the corresponding curtain in the second set.
He made fifty bronze clasps to join the tent together so that it might be a unit.18He made 50 bronze clasps to join the tent together as a single unit.
He made a covering for the tent out of ram skins dyed red and over that a covering of fine leather. 19He also made a covering for the tent from ram skins dyed red and a covering of manatee skins on top of it.
He made the frames for the tabernacle of acacia wood as uprights.20He made upright planks of acacia wood for the tabernacle.
The length of each frame was fifteen feet, the width of each frame was two and a quarter feet,21The length of each plank was 15 feet, and the width of each was 27 inches.
with two projections per frame parallel one to another. He made all the frames of the tabernacle in this way.22There were two tenons connected to each other for each plank. He did the same for all the planks of the tabernacle.
So he made frames for the tabernacle: twenty frames for the south side.23He made planks for the tabernacle as follows: 20 for the south side,
He made forty silver bases under the twenty frames--two bases under the first frame for its two projections, and likewise two bases under the next frame for its two projections,24and he made 40 silver bases to put under the 20 planks, two bases under the first plank for its two tenons, and two bases under each of the following planks for their two tenons;
and for the second side of the tabernacle, the north side, he made twenty frames25for the second side of the tabernacle, the north side, he made 20 planks,
and their forty silver bases, two bases under the first frame and two bases under the next frame.26with their 40 silver bases, two bases under the first plank and two bases under each of the following ones;
And for the back of the tabernacle on the west he made six frames.27and for the west side of the tabernacle he made six planks.
He made two frames for the corners of the tabernacle on the back.28He also made two additional planks for the two back corners of the tabernacle.
At the two corners they were doubled at the lower end and finished together at the top in one ring. So he did for both.29They were paired at the bottom and joined together at the top in a single ring. This is what he did with both of them for the two corners.
So there were eight frames and their silver bases, sixteen bases, two bases under each frame. 30So there were eight planks with their 16 silver bases, two bases under each one.
He made bars of acacia wood, five for the frames on one side of the tabernacle31He made five crossbars of acacia wood for the planks on one side of the tabernacle,
and five bars for the frames on the second side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the frames of the tabernacle for the back side on the west.32five crossbars for the planks on the other side of the tabernacle, and five crossbars for those at the back of the tabernacle on the west.
He made the middle bar to reach from end to end in the center of the frames.33He made the central crossbar run through the middle of the planks from one end to the other.
He overlaid the frames with gold and made their rings of gold to provide places for the bars, and he overlaid the bars with gold. 34He overlaid them with gold and made their rings out of gold as holders for the crossbars. He also overlaid the crossbars with gold.
He made the special curtain of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and fine twisted linen; he made it with cherubim, the work of an artistic designer.35Then he made the veil with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely spun linen. He made it with a design of cherubim worked into it.
He made for it four posts of acacia wood and overlaid them with gold, with gold hooks, and he cast for them four silver bases. 36He made four posts of acacia wood for it and overlaid them with gold; their hooks were of gold. And he cast four silver bases for the posts.
He made a hanging for the entrance of the tent of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and fine twisted linen, the work of an embroiderer,37He made a screen embroidered with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely spun linen for the entrance to the tent,
and its five posts and their hooks. He overlaid their tops and their bands with gold, but their five bases were bronze. 38together with its five posts and their hooks. He overlaid the tops of the posts and their bands with gold, but their five bases were bronze.
