Corinthians 13
NASB Parallel GRK [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT GRK]
New American Standard Bible 1995Greek Study Bible
If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.1Ἐὰν ταῖς γλώσσαις τῶν ἀνθρώπων λαλῶ καὶ τῶν ἀγγέλων ἀγάπην δὲ μὴ ἔχω γέγονα χαλκὸς ἠχῶν κύμβαλον ἀλαλάζον
If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.2καὶ ἐὰν ἔχω προφητείαν καὶ εἰδῶ τὰ μυστήρια πάντα καὶ πᾶσαν τὴν γνῶσιν καὶ ἐὰν ἔχω πᾶσαν τὴν πίστιν ὥστε ὄρη μεθιστάναι ἀγάπην δὲ μὴ ἔχω οὐθέν εἰμι
And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing.3καὶ ἐὰν ψωμίσω πάντα τὰ ὑπάρχοντά μου καὶ ἐὰν παραδῶ τὸ σῶμά μου ἵνα [καυχήσωμαι] ἀγάπην δὲ μὴ ἔχω οὐδὲν ὠφελοῦμαι
Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant,4 ἀγάπη μακροθυμεῖ χρηστεύεται ἀγάπη οὐ ζηλοῖ ἀγάπη οὐ περπερεύεται οὐ φυσιοῦται
does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered,5οὐκ ἀσχημονεῖ οὐ ζητεῖ τὰ ἑαυτῆς οὐ παροξύνεται οὐ λογίζεται τὸ κακόν
does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;6οὐ χαίρει ἐπὶ τῇ ἀδικίᾳ συνχαίρει δὲ τῇ ἀληθείᾳ
bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.7πάντα στέγει πάντα πιστεύει πάντα ἐλπίζει πάντα ὑπομένει
Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away.8 ἀγάπη οὐδέποτε πίπτει εἴτε δὲ προφητεῖαι καταργηθήσονται εἴτε γλῶσσαι παύσονται εἴτε γνῶσις καταργηθήσεται
For we know in part and we prophesy in part;9ἐκ μέρους γὰρ γινώσκομεν καὶ ἐκ μέρους προφητεύομεν
but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away.10ὅταν δὲ ἔλθῃ τὸ τέλειον τὸ ἐκ μέρους καταργηθήσεται
When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things.11Ὅτε ἤμην νήπιος ἐλάλουν ὡς νήπιος ἐφρόνουν ὡς νήπιος ἐλογιζόμην ὡς νήπιος ὅτε γέγονα ἀνήρ κατήργηκα τὰ τοῦ νηπίου
For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known.12βλέπομεν γὰρ ἄρτι δι’ ἐσόπτρου ἐν αἰνίγματι τότε δὲ πρόσωπον πρὸς πρόσωπον ἄρτι γινώσκω ἐκ μέρους τότε δὲ ἐπιγνώσομαι καθὼς καὶ ἐπεγνώσθην
But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.13Νυνὶ δὲ μένει πίστις ἐλπίς ἀγάπη τὰ τρία ταῦτα μείζων δὲ τούτων ἀγάπη
