Corinthians 13
NASB Parallel CSB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT GRK]
New American Standard Bible 1995Christian Standard Bible
If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.1If I speak human or angelic tongues but do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.2If I have the gift of prophecy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so that I can move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing.
And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing.3And if I give away all my possessions, and if I give over my body in order to boast but do not have love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant,4Love is patient, love is kind. Love does not envy, is not boastful, is not arrogant,
does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered,5is not rude, is not self-seeking, is not irritable, and does not keep a record of wrongs.
does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;6Love finds no joy in unrighteousness but rejoices in the truth.
bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.7It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away.8Love never ends. But as for prophecies, they will come to an end; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will come to an end.
For we know in part and we prophesy in part;9For we know in part, and we prophesy in part,
but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away.10but when the perfect comes, the partial will come to an end.
When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things.11When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put aside childish things.
For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known.12For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, as I am fully known.
But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.13Now these three remain: faith, hope, and love--but the greatest of these is love.
