Corinthians 13
NASB Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT GRK]
New American Standard Bible 1995New International Version
If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.1If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing.3If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant,4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered,5It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away.8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
For we know in part and we prophesy in part;9For we know in part and we prophesy in part,
but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away.10but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears.
When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things.11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me.
For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known.12For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
