1I commend to you our sister Phoebe, who is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea;1I commend to you our sister Phoebe, who is a servant of the church in Cenchreae.
2that you receive her in the Lord in a manner worthy of the saints, and that you help her in whatever matter she may have need of you; for she herself has also been a helper of many, and of myself as well.2So you should welcome her in the Lord in a manner worthy of the saints and assist her in whatever matter she may require your help. For indeed she has been a benefactor of many--and of me also.
3Greet Prisca and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus,3Give my greetings to Prisca and Aquila, my coworkers in Christ Jesus,
4who for my life risked their own necks, to whom not only do I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles;4who risked their own necks for my life. Not only do I thank them, but so do all the Gentile churches.
5also greet the church that is in their house. Greet Epaenetus, my beloved, who is the first convert to Christ from Asia.5Greet also the church that meets in their home. Greet my dear friend Epaenetus, who is the first convert to Christ from Asia.
6Greet Mary, who has worked hard for you.6Greet Mary, who has worked very hard for you.
7Greet Andronicus and Junias, my kinsmen and my fellow prisoners, who are outstanding among the apostles, who also were in Christ before me.7Greet Andronicus and Junia, my fellow countrymen and fellow prisoners. They are noteworthy in the eyes of the apostles, and they were also in Christ before me.

17Now I urge you, brethren, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them.17Now I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause dissensions and obstacles contrary to the doctrine you have learned. Avoid them,
18For such men are slaves, not of our Lord Christ but of their own appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting.18for such people do not serve our Lord Christ but their own appetites. They deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting with smooth talk and flattering words.
19For the report of your obedience has reached to all; therefore I am rejoicing over you, but I want you to be wise in what is good and innocent in what is evil.19The report of your obedience has reached everyone. Therefore I rejoice over you. But I want you to be wise about what is good, yet innocent about what is evil.

26but now is manifested, and by the Scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the eternal God, has been made known to all the nations, leading to obedience of faith;26but now revealed and made known through the prophetic Scriptures, according to the command of the eternal God to advance the obedience of faith among all nations--
