The LORD spoke again to Moses, saying,1The LORD spoke to Moses: "
"Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, 'The LORD'S appointed times which you shall proclaim as holy convocations-- My appointed times are these:2Speak to the Israelites and tell them: These are My appointed times, the times of the LORD that you will proclaim as sacred assemblies."
'For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day there is a sabbath of complete rest, a holy convocation. You shall not do any work; it is a sabbath to the LORD in all your dwellings.3Work may be done for six days, but on the seventh day there must be a Sabbath of complete rest, a sacred assembly. You are not to do any work; it is a Sabbath to the LORD wherever you live."
'These are the appointed times of the LORD, holy convocations which you shall proclaim at the times appointed for them.4These are the LORD's appointed times, the sacred assemblies you are to proclaim at their appointed times.
'In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at twilight is the LORD'S Passover.5The Passover to the LORD comes in the first month, at twilight on the fourteenth day of the month.
'Then on the fifteenth day of the same month there is the Feast of Unleavened Bread to the LORD; for seven days you shall eat unleavened bread.6The Festival of Unleavened Bread to the LORD is on the fifteenth day of the same month. For seven days you must eat unleavened bread.
'On the first day you shall have a holy convocation; you shall not do any laborious work.7On the first day you are to hold a sacred assembly; you are not to do any daily work.
'But for seven days you shall present an offering by fire to the LORD. On the seventh day is a holy convocation; you shall not do any laborious work.'"8You are to present a fire offering to the LORD for seven days. On the seventh day there will be a sacred assembly; you must not do any daily work."
Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,9The LORD spoke to Moses: "
"Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, 'When you enter the land which I am going to give to you and reap its harvest, then you shall bring in the sheaf of the first fruits of your harvest to the priest.10Speak to the Israelites and tell them: When you enter the land I am giving you and reap its harvest, you are to bring the first sheaf of your harvest to the priest.
'He shall wave the sheaf before the LORD for you to be accepted; on the day after the sabbath the priest shall wave it.11He will wave the sheaf before the LORD so that you may be accepted; the priest is to wave it on the day after the Sabbath.
'Now on the day when you wave the sheaf, you shall offer a male lamb one year old without defect for a burnt offering to the LORD.12On the day you wave the sheaf, you are to offer a year-old male lamb without blemish as a burnt offering to the LORD.
Its grain offering shall then be two-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil, an offering by fire to the LORD for a soothing aroma, with its drink offering, a fourth of a hin of wine.13Its grain offering is to be four quarts of fine flour mixed with oil as a fire offering to the LORD, a pleasing aroma, and its drink offering will be one quart of wine.
'Until this same day, until you have brought in the offering of your God, you shall eat neither bread nor roasted grain nor new growth. It is to be a perpetual statute throughout your generations in all your dwelling places.14You must not eat bread, roasted grain, or any new grain until this very day, and until you have brought the offering to your God. This is to be a permanent statute throughout your generations wherever you live."
'You shall also count for yourselves from the day after the sabbath, from the day when you brought in the sheaf of the wave offering; there shall be seven complete sabbaths.15You are to count seven complete weeks starting from the day after the Sabbath, the day you brought the sheaf of the presentation offering.
'You shall count fifty days to the day after the seventh sabbath; then you shall present a new grain offering to the LORD.16You are to count 50 days until the day after the seventh Sabbath and then present an offering of new grain to the LORD.
You shall bring in from your dwelling places two loaves of bread for a wave offering, made of two-tenths of an ephah; they shall be of a fine flour, baked with leaven as first fruits to the LORD.17Bring two loaves of bread from your settlements as a presentation offering, each of them made from four quarts of fine flour, baked with yeast, as firstfruits to the LORD.
'Along with the bread you shall present seven one year old male lambs without defect, and a bull of the herd and two rams; they are to be a burnt offering to the LORD, with their grain offering and their drink offerings, an offering by fire of a soothing aroma to the LORD.18You are to present with the bread seven unblemished male lambs a year old, one young bull, and two rams. They will be a burnt offering to the LORD, with their grain offerings and drink offerings, a fire offering of a pleasing aroma to the LORD.
'You shall also offer one male goat for a sin offering and two male lambs one year old for a sacrifice of peace offerings.19You are also to prepare one male goat as a sin offering, and two male lambs a year old as a fellowship sacrifice.
'The priest shall then wave them with the bread of the first fruits for a wave offering with two lambs before the LORD; they are to be holy to the LORD for the priest.20The priest will wave the lambs with the bread of firstfruits as a presentation offering before the LORD; the bread and the two lambs will be holy to the LORD for the priest.
'On this same day you shall make a proclamation as well; you are to have a holy convocation. You shall do no laborious work. It is to be a perpetual statute in all your dwelling places throughout your generations.21On that same day you are to make a proclamation and hold a sacred assembly. You are not to do any daily work. This is to be a permanent statute wherever you live throughout your generations.
'When you reap the harvest of your land, moreover, you shall not reap to the very corners of your field nor gather the gleaning of your harvest; you are to leave them for the needy and the alien. I am the LORD your God.'"22When you reap the harvest of your land, you are not to reap all the way to the edge of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. Leave them for the poor and the foreign resident; I am Yahweh your God."
Again the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,23The LORD spoke to Moses: "
"Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, 'In the seventh month on the first of the month you shall have a rest, a reminder by blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation.24Tell the Israelites: In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you are to have a day of complete rest, commemoration, and joyful shouting--a sacred assembly.
'You shall not do any laborious work, but you shall present an offering by fire to the LORD.'"25You must not do any daily work, but you must present a fire offering to the LORD."
The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,26The LORD again spoke to Moses: "
"On exactly the tenth day of this seventh month is the day of atonement; it shall be a holy convocation for you, and you shall humble your souls and present an offering by fire to the LORD.27The tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement. You are to hold a sacred assembly and practice self-denial; you are to present a fire offering to the LORD.
"You shall not do any work on this same day, for it is a day of atonement, to make atonement on your behalf before the LORD your God.28On this particular day you are not to do any work, for it is a Day of Atonement to make atonement for yourselves before the LORD your God.
"If there is any person who will not humble himself on this same day, he shall be cut off from his people.29If any person does not practice self-denial on this particular day, he must be cut off from his people.
"As for any person who does any work on this same day, that person I will destroy from among his people.30I will destroy among his people anyone who does any work on this same day.
"You shall do no work at all. It is to be a perpetual statute throughout your generations in all your dwelling places.31You are not to do any work. This is a permanent statute throughout your generations wherever you live.
"It is to be a sabbath of complete rest to you, and you shall humble your souls; on the ninth of the month at evening, from evening until evening you shall keep your sabbath."32It will be a Sabbath of complete rest for you, and you must practice self-denial. You are to observe your Sabbath from the evening of the ninth day of the month until the following evening."
Again the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,33The LORD spoke to Moses: "
"Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, 'On the fifteenth of this seventh month is the Feast of Booths for seven days to the LORD.34Tell the Israelites: The Festival of Booths to the LORD begins on the fifteenth day of this seventh month and continues for seven days.
'On the first day is a holy convocation; you shall do no laborious work of any kind.35There is to be a sacred assembly on the first day; you are not to do any daily work.
'For seven days you shall present an offering by fire to the LORD. On the eighth day you shall have a holy convocation and present an offering by fire to the LORD; it is an assembly. You shall do no laborious work.36You are to present a fire offering to the LORD for seven days. On the eighth day you are to hold a sacred assembly and present a fire offering to the LORD. It is a solemn gathering; you are not to do any daily work."
These are the appointed times of the LORD which you shall proclaim as holy convocations, to present offerings by fire to the LORD-- burnt offerings and grain offerings, sacrifices and drink offerings, each day's matter on its own day--37These are the LORD's appointed times that you are to proclaim as sacred assemblies for presenting fire offerings to the LORD, burnt offerings and grain offerings, sacrifices and drink offerings, each on its designated day.
besides those of the sabbaths of the LORD, and besides your gifts and besides all your votive and freewill offerings, which you give to the LORD.38These are in addition to the offerings for the LORD's Sabbaths, your gifts, all your vow offerings, and all your freewill offerings that you give to the LORD."
'On exactly the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the crops of the land, you shall celebrate the feast of the LORD for seven days, with a rest on the first day and a rest on the eighth day.39You are to celebrate the LORD's festival on the fifteenth day of the seventh month for seven days after you have gathered the produce of the land. There will be complete rest on the first day and complete rest on the eighth day.
'Now on the first day you shall take for yourselves the foliage of beautiful trees, palm branches and boughs of leafy trees and willows of the brook, and you shall rejoice before the LORD your God for seven days.40On the first day you are to take the product of majestic trees--palm fronds, boughs of leafy trees, and willows of the brook--and rejoice before the LORD your God for seven days.
You shall thus celebrate it as a feast to the LORD for seven days in the year. It shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations; you shall celebrate it in the seventh month.41You are to celebrate it as a festival to the LORD seven days each year. This is a permanent statute for you throughout your generations; you must celebrate it in the seventh month.
'You shall live in booths for seven days; all the native-born in Israel shall live in booths,42You are to live in booths for seven days. All the native-born of Israel must live in booths,
so that your generations may know that I had the sons of Israel live in booths when I brought them out from the land of Egypt. I am the LORD your God.'"43so that your generations may know that I made the Israelites live in booths when I brought them out of the land of Egypt; I am Yahweh your God."
So Moses declared to the sons of Israel the appointed times of the LORD.44So Moses declared the LORD's appointed times to the Israelites.
