“So Bezalel, Oholiab, and every skilled person are to carry out everything commanded by the LORD, who has given them skill and ability to know how to perform all the work of constructing the sanctuary.”1Bezalel, Oholiab, and all the skilled people are to work based on everything the LORD has commanded. The LORD has given them wisdom and understanding to know how to do all the work of constructing the sanctuary."
Then Moses summoned Bezalel, Oholiab, and every skilled person whom the LORD had gifted—everyone whose heart stirred him to come and do the work.2So Moses summoned Bezalel, Oholiab, and every skilled person in whose heart the LORD had placed wisdom, all whose hearts moved them, to come to the work and do it.
They received from Moses all the contributions that the Israelites had brought to carry out the service of constructing the sanctuary. Meanwhile, the people continued to bring freewill offerings morning after morning,3They took from Moses's presence all the contributions that the Israelites had brought for the task of making the sanctuary. Meanwhile, the people continued to bring freewill offerings morning after morning.
so that all the skilled craftsmen who were doing all the work on the sanctuary left their work4Then all the artisans who were doing all the work for the sanctuary came one by one from the work they were doing
and said to Moses, “The people are bringing more than enough for doing the work the LORD has commanded us to do.”5and said to Moses, "The people are bringing more than is needed for the construction of the work the LORD commanded to be done."
After Moses had given an order, they sent a proclamation throughout the camp: “No man or woman should make anything else as an offering for the sanctuary.” So the people were restrained from bringing more,6After Moses gave an order, they sent a proclamation throughout the camp: "Let no man or woman make anything else as an offering for the sanctuary." So the people stopped.
since what they already had was more than enough to perform all the work.7The materials were sufficient for them to do all the work. There was more than enough.
All the skilled craftsmen among the workmen made the ten curtains for the tabernacle. They were made of finely spun linen, as well as blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, with cherubim skillfully worked into them.8All the skilled artisans among those doing the work made the tabernacle with ten curtains. Bezalel made them of finely spun linen, as well as blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, with a design of cherubim worked into them.
Each curtain was twenty-eight cubits long and four cubits wide; all the curtains were the same size.9Each curtain was forty-two feet long and six feet wide; all the curtains had the same measurements.
And he joined five of the curtains together, and the other five he joined as well.10He joined five of the curtains to each other, and the other five curtains he joined to each other.
He made loops of blue material on the edge of the end curtain in the first set, and also on the end curtain in the second set.11He made loops of blue yarn on the edge of the last curtain in the first set and did the same on the edge of the outermost curtain in the second set.
He made fifty loops on one curtain and fifty loops on the end curtain of the second set, so that the loops lined up opposite one another.12He made fifty loops on the one curtain and fifty loops on the edge of the curtain in the second set, so that the loops lined up with each other.
He also made fifty gold clasps to join the curtains together, so that the tabernacle was a unit.13He also made fifty gold clasps and joined the curtains to each other, so that the tabernacle became a single unit.
He then made curtains of goat hair for the tent over the tabernacle—eleven curtains in all.14He made curtains of goat hair for a tent over the tabernacle; he made eleven of them.
Each of the eleven curtains was the same size—thirty cubits long and four cubits wide.15Each curtain was forty-five feet long and six feet wide. All eleven curtains had the same measurements.
He joined five of the curtains into one set and the other six into another.16He joined five of the curtains together, and the other six together.
He made fifty loops along the edge of the end curtain in the first set, and fifty loops along the edge of the corresponding curtain in the second set.17He made fifty loops on the edge of the outermost curtain in the first set and fifty loops on the edge of the corresponding curtain in the second set.
He also made fifty bronze clasps to join the tent together as a unit.18He made fifty bronze clasps to join the tent together as a single unit.
Additionally, he made for the tent a covering of ram skins dyed red, and over that a covering of fine leather.19He also made a covering for the tent from ram skins dyed red and a covering of fine leather on top of it.
Next, he constructed upright frames of acacia wood for the tabernacle.20He made upright supports of acacia wood for the tabernacle.
Each frame was ten cubits long and a cubit and a half wide.21Each support was fifteen feet long and twenty-seven inches wide.
Two tenons were connected to each other for each frame. He made all the frames of the tabernacle in this way.22Each support had two tenons for joining one to another. He did the same for all the supports of the tabernacle.
He constructed twenty frames for the south side of the tabernacle,23He made supports for the tabernacle as follows: twenty for the south side,
with forty silver bases to put under the twenty frames—two bases for each frame, one under each tenon.24and he made forty silver bases to put under the twenty supports, two bases under the first support for its two tenons, and two bases under each of the following supports for their two tenons;
For the second side of the tabernacle, the north side, he made twenty frames25for the second side of the tabernacle, the north side, he made twenty supports,
and forty silver bases—two bases under each frame.26with their forty silver bases, two bases under the first support and two bases under each of the following ones;
He made six frames for the rear of the tabernacle, the west side,27and for the back of the tabernacle, on the west side, he made six supports.
and two frames for the two back corners of the tabernacle,28He also made two additional supports for the two back corners of the tabernacle.
coupled together from bottom to top and fitted into a single ring. He made both corners in this way.29They were paired at the bottom and joined together at the top in a single ring. This is what he did with both of them for the two corners.
So there were eight frames and sixteen silver bases—two under each frame.30So there were eight supports with their sixteen silver bases, two bases under each one.
He also made five crossbars of acacia wood for the frames on one side of the tabernacle,31He made five crossbars of acacia wood for the supports on one side of the tabernacle,
five for those on the other side, and five for those on the rear side of the tabernacle, to the west.32five crossbars for the supports on the other side of the tabernacle, and five crossbars for those at the back of the tabernacle on the west.
He made the central crossbar to run through the center of the frames, from one end to the other.33He made the central crossbar run through the middle of the supports from one end to the other.
And he overlaid the frames with gold and made gold rings to hold the crossbars. He also overlaid the crossbars with gold.34He overlaid them with gold and made their rings out of gold as holders for the crossbars. He also overlaid the crossbars with gold.
Next, he made the veil of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely spun linen, with cherubim skillfully worked into it.35Then he made the curtain with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely spun linen. He made it with a design of cherubim worked into it.
He also made four posts of acacia wood for it and overlaid them with gold, along with gold hooks; and he cast four silver bases for the posts.36He made four pillars of acacia wood for it and overlaid them with gold; their hooks were of gold. And he cast four silver bases for the pillars.
For the entrance to the tent, he made a curtain embroidered with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely spun linen,37He made a screen embroidered with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely spun linen for the entrance to the tent,
together with five posts and their hooks. He overlaid the tops of the posts and their bands with gold, and their five bases were bronze.38together with its five pillars and their hooks. He overlaid the tops of the pillars and their bands with gold, but their five bases were bronze.
