12And Jesus went into the temple of God, and drove out all those that were engaged in buying and selling in the temple, and He overturned the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of those that sold doves, 13And said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called the house of prayer; but you have made it a den of thieves.’” 14And the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple; and He healed them. 15But when the chief priests and scribes (teachers of the law) saw the wonderful things that He did, and the children shouting, “Hosanna to the Son of David” in the temple courts; they were very indignant, 16And they said to Him, “Do You Hear what these are saying?” And Jesus replied, “Yes; have you never read, ‘Out of the mouth of children and infants you have perfected praise? (PS.8:2)’”

17And He left them, and went out of the city to Bethany; where He spent the night. 18Early the next the morning, as He returned to the city, He was hungry. 19And when He saw a fig tree along the way, He went up to it, and found nothing on it but leaves, and He said to it, “Let no fruit grow on you ever hereafter”. And the fig tree began to wither away. 20And when His disciples saw it, they marveled, saying, “How soon is the fig tree withered away!” 21Jesus responded by saying to them, “Truly I tell you, ‘If you have faith, and do not doubt, you shall not only do what is done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, “Be you moved, and thrown into the sea”; it shall be done.’ 22And all things, whatever you ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive.”

23And when He had come to and entered the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to Him as He was teaching, and asked, “By what authority do You do these things? And who gave You this authority?” 24And Jesus replied, “I will also ask you one question, and if you answer that for Me, I will likewise tell you by what authority I do these things: 25The baptism of John, where did it come from - from heaven, or from men?” And they conferred among themselves, and said, “If we say, ‘From heaven’, He will ask us, ‘Then why did you not believe him?’ 26But if we say, ‘From men’; we fear (reaction of) the people; for they all regard John as a prophet.” 27And so they answered Jesus, and said, “We cannot tell.” And He said to them, “Then neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.

28But tell Me what you think about this: ‘A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, “Son, go work in my vineyard today”. 29He answered and said, “I will not”; but afterward he changed his mind, and went. 30And he came to the second son, and told him the same. And he responded with, “I will, sir”; but he did not go. 31Which of the two sons did what the father wanted?’” They answered Him, “The first”. Then Jesus said to them, “Truly, I tell you, that the tax collectors and the harlots enter the kingdom of God ahead of you. 32Because John came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him; but the tax collectors and the harlots did believe him; and, even when you had seen this, you still did not repent afterward and believe him.

33Hear another parable: ‘There was a certain landowner, who planted a vineyard, and built a hedge (or wall) around it, and dug a winepress in it, and built a watchtower, and then leased it to tenant farmers, and went into a far country; 34And when harvest time approached, he sent his servants to the tenant farmers, to receive the fruits from it. 35And they took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another. 36Then the landowner sent more servants than at first; and they did the same to them. 37Funally, he sent his son to them, saying, “They will respect my son”. 38But when the tenant farmers saw the son, they said to themselves, “This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and take his inheritance”. 39And they grabbed and threw him out of the vineyard, and killed him. 40Now when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those tenant farmers?” 41They said to Him, “He will bring those wicked men to a painful end, and will lease his vineyard to other farmers, who shall render to him the fruits in their seasons”. 42Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures, “The Stone which the builders rejected, the same has become the head of the corner (cornerstone); this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes?”

43Therefore I tell you, “The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a people that bring forth its fruit. 44And whoever shall fall on this Stone shall be broken; it will grind to powder anyone on whom it shall fall.”

45And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard His parables, they knew that He was speaking of them. 46But when they sought a way to arrest Him, they feared the reaction of the crowd of people, because they regarded Him as a prophet.
