"He will certainly kill those evil men," they answered, "and rent the vineyard out to other tenants, who will give him his share of the harvest at the right time."

…40When therefore the lord of the vineyard shall come, what will he do to those husbandmen? 41They say to him: He will bring those evil men to an evil end and let out his vineyard to other husbandmen that shall render him the fruit in due season. 42Jesus saith to them: Have you never read in the Scriptures: The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner? By the Lord this has been done; and it is wonderful in our eyes.…
And I say to you that many shall come from the east and the west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven:
And when the time of the fruits drew nigh, he sent his servants to the husbandmen that they might receive the fruits thereof.
When therefore the lord of the vineyard shall come, what will he do to those husbandmen?
He will come and will destroy these husbandmen and will give the vineyard to others. Which they hearing, said to him: God forbid.
Then Paul and Barnabas said boldly: To you it behoved us first to speak the word of God: but because you reject it and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold we turn to the Gentiles.
But they gainsaying and blaspheming, he shook his garments and said to them: Your blood be upon your own heads: I am clean. From henceforth I will go unto the Gentiles.
Be it known therefore to you that this salvation of God is sent to the Gentiles: and they will hear it.

They say to him, 'Evil men -- he will evilly destroy them, and the vineyard will give out to other husbandmen, who will give back to him the fruits in their seasons.'
