I will sing of the LORD’s unfailing love forever! Young and old will hear of your faithfulness. I will sing of the steadfast love of the LORD, forever; with my mouth I will make known your faithfulness to all generations. A maskil of Ethan the Ezrahite. I will sing of the LORD’s great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations.
Your unfailing love will last forever. Your faithfulness is as enduring as the heavens. For I said, “Steadfast love will be built up forever; in the heavens you will establish your faithfulness.” I will declare that your love stands firm forever, that you have established your faithfulness in heaven itself.
The LORD said, “I have made a covenant with David, my chosen servant. I have sworn this oath to him: You have said, “I have made a covenant with my chosen one; I have sworn to David my servant: You said, “I have made a covenant with my chosen one, I have sworn to David my servant,
‘I will establish your descendants as kings forever; they will sit on your throne from now until eternity.’” Interlude ‘I will establish your offspring forever, and build your throne for all generations.’” Selah I will establish your line forever and make your throne firm through all generations.’”
All heaven will praise your great wonders, LORD; myriads of angels will praise you for your faithfulness. Let the heavens praise your wonders, O LORD, your faithfulness in the assembly of the holy ones! The heavens praise your wonders, LORD, your faithfulness too, in the assembly of the holy ones.
For who in all of heaven can compare with the LORD? What mightiest angel is anything like the LORD? For who in the skies can be compared to the LORD? Who among the heavenly beings is like the LORD, For who in the skies above can compare with the LORD? Who is like the LORD among the heavenly beings?
The highest angelic powers stand in awe of God. He is far more awesome than all who surround his throne. a God greatly to be feared in the council of the holy ones, and awesome above all who are around him? In the council of the holy ones God is greatly feared; he is more awesome than all who surround him.
O LORD God of Heaven’s Armies! Where is there anyone as mighty as you, O LORD? You are entirely faithful. O LORD God of hosts, who is mighty as you are, O LORD, with your faithfulness all around you? Who is like you, LORD God Almighty? You, LORD, are mighty, and your faithfulness surrounds you.
You rule the oceans. You subdue their storm-tossed waves. You rule the raging of the sea; when its waves rise, you still them. You rule over the surging sea; when its waves mount up, you still them.
You crushed the great sea monster. You scattered your enemies with your mighty arm. You crushed Rahab like a carcass; you scattered your enemies with your mighty arm. You crushed Rahab like one of the slain; with your strong arm you scattered your enemies.
The heavens are yours, and the earth is yours; everything in the world is yours—you created it all. The heavens are yours; the earth also is yours; the world and all that is in it, you have founded them. The heavens are yours, and yours also the earth; you founded the world and all that is in it.
You created north and south. Mount Tabor and Mount Hermon praise your name. The north and the south, you have created them; Tabor and Hermon joyously praise your name. You created the north and the south; Tabor and Hermon sing for joy at your name.
Powerful is your arm! Strong is your hand! Your right hand is lifted high in glorious strength. You have a mighty arm; strong is your hand, high your right hand. Your arm is endowed with power; your hand is strong, your right hand exalted.
Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne. Unfailing love and truth walk before you as attendants. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; steadfast love and faithfulness go before you. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; love and faithfulness go before you.
Happy are those who hear the joyful call to worship, for they will walk in the light of your presence, LORD. Blessed are the people who know the festal shout, who walk, O LORD, in the light of your face, Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, LORD.
They rejoice all day long in your wonderful reputation. They exult in your righteousness. who exult in your name all the day and in your righteousness are exalted. They rejoice in your name all day long; they celebrate your righteousness.
You are their glorious strength. It pleases you to make us strong. For you are the glory of their strength; by your favor our horn is exalted. For you are their glory and strength, and by your favor you exalt our horn.
Yes, our protection comes from the LORD, and he, the Holy One of Israel, has given us our king. For our shield belongs to the LORD, our king to the Holy One of Israel. Indeed, our shield belongs to the LORD, our king to the Holy One of Israel.
Long ago you spoke in a vision to your faithful people. You said, “I have raised up a warrior. I have selected him from the common people to be king. Of old you spoke in a vision to your godly one, and said: “I have granted help to one who is mighty; I have exalted one chosen from the people. Once you spoke in a vision, to your faithful people you said: “I have bestowed strength on a warrior; I have raised up a young man from among the people.
I have found my servant David. I have anointed him with my holy oil. I have found David, my servant; with my holy oil I have anointed him, I have found David my servant; with my sacred oil I have anointed him.
I will steady him with my hand; with my powerful arm I will make him strong. so that my hand shall be established with him; my arm also shall strengthen him. My hand will sustain him; surely my arm will strengthen him.
His enemies will not defeat him, nor will the wicked overpower him. The enemy shall not outwit him; the wicked shall not humble him. The enemy will not get the better of him; the wicked will not oppress him.
I will beat down his adversaries before him and destroy those who hate him. I will crush his foes before him and strike down those who hate him. I will crush his foes before him and strike down his adversaries.
My faithfulness and unfailing love will be with him, and by my authority he will grow in power. My faithfulness and my steadfast love shall be with him, and in my name shall his horn be exalted. My faithful love will be with him, and through my name his horn will be exalted.
I will extend his rule over the sea, his dominion over the rivers. I will set his hand on the sea and his right hand on the rivers. I will set his hand over the sea, his right hand over the rivers.
And he will call out to me, ‘You are my Father, my God, and the Rock of my salvation.’ He shall cry to me, ‘You are my Father, my God, and the Rock of my salvation.’ He will call out to me, ‘You are my Father, my God, the Rock my Savior.’
I will make him my firstborn son, the mightiest king on earth. And I will make him the firstborn, the highest of the kings of the earth. And I will appoint him to be my firstborn, the most exalted of the kings of the earth.
I will love him and be kind to him forever; my covenant with him will never end. My steadfast love I will keep for him forever, and my covenant will stand firm for him. I will maintain my love to him forever, and my covenant with him will never fail.
I will preserve an heir for him; his throne will be as endless as the days of heaven. I will establish his offspring forever and his throne as the days of the heavens. I will establish his line forever, his throne as long as the heavens endure.
But if his descendants forsake my instructions and fail to obey my regulations, If his children forsake my law and do not walk according to my rules, “If his sons forsake my law and do not follow my statutes,
if they do not obey my decrees and fail to keep my commands, if they violate my statutes and do not keep my commandments, if they violate my decrees and fail to keep my commands,
then I will punish their sin with the rod, and their disobedience with beating. then I will punish their transgression with the rod and their iniquity with stripes, I will punish their sin with the rod, their iniquity with flogging;
But I will never stop loving him nor fail to keep my promise to him. but I will not remove from him my steadfast love or be false to my faithfulness. but I will not take my love from him, nor will I ever betray my faithfulness.
No, I will not break my covenant; I will not take back a single word I said. I will not violate my covenant or alter the word that went forth from my lips. I will not violate my covenant or alter what my lips have uttered.
I have sworn an oath to David, and in my holiness I cannot lie: Once for all I have sworn by my holiness; I will not lie to David. Once for all, I have sworn by my holiness— and I will not lie to David—
His dynasty will go on forever; his kingdom will endure as the sun. His offspring shall endure forever, his throne as long as the sun before me. that his line will continue forever and his throne endure before me like the sun;
It will be as eternal as the moon, my faithful witness in the sky!” Interlude Like the moon it shall be established forever, a faithful witness in the skies.” Selah it will be established forever like the moon, the faithful witness in the sky.”
But now you have rejected him and cast him off. You are angry with your anointed king. But now you have cast off and rejected; you are full of wrath against your anointed. But you have rejected, you have spurned, you have been very angry with your anointed one.
You have renounced your covenant with him; you have thrown his crown in the dust. You have renounced the covenant with your servant; you have defiled his crown in the dust. You have renounced the covenant with your servant and have defiled his crown in the dust.
You have broken down the walls protecting him and ruined every fort defending him. You have breached all his walls; you have laid his strongholds in ruins. You have broken through all his walls and reduced his strongholds to ruins.
Everyone who comes along has robbed him, and he has become a joke to his neighbors. All who pass by plunder him; he has become the scorn of his neighbors. All who pass by have plundered him; he has become the scorn of his neighbors.
You have strengthened his enemies and made them all rejoice. You have exalted the right hand of his foes; you have made all his enemies rejoice. You have exalted the right hand of his foes; you have made all his enemies rejoice.
You have made his sword useless and refused to help him in battle. You have also turned back the edge of his sword, and you have not made him stand in battle. Indeed, you have turned back the edge of his sword and have not supported him in battle.
You have ended his splendor and overturned his throne. You have made his splendor to cease and cast his throne to the ground. You have put an end to his splendor and cast his throne to the ground.
You have made him old before his time and publicly disgraced him. Interlude You have cut short the days of his youth; you have covered him with shame. Selah You have cut short the days of his youth; you have covered him with a mantle of shame.
O LORD, how long will this go on? Will you hide yourself forever? How long will your anger burn like fire? How long, O LORD? Will you hide yourself forever? How long will your wrath burn like fire? How long, LORD? Will you hide yourself forever? How long will your wrath burn like fire?
Remember how short my life is, how empty and futile this human existence! Remember how short my time is! For what vanity you have created all the children of man! Remember how fleeting is my life. For what futility you have created all humanity!
No one can live forever; all will die. No one can escape the power of the grave. Interlude What man can live and never see death? Who can deliver his soul from the power of Sheol? Selah Who can live and not see death, or who can escape the power of the grave?
Lord, where is your unfailing love? You promised it to David with a faithful pledge. Lord, where is your steadfast love of old, which by your faithfulness you swore to David? Lord, where is your former great love, which in your faithfulness you swore to David?
Consider, Lord, how your servants are disgraced! I carry in my heart the insults of so many people. Remember, O Lord, how your servants are mocked, and how I bear in my heart the insults of all the many nations, Remember, Lord, how your servant has been mocked, how I bear in my heart the taunts of all the nations,
Your enemies have mocked me, O LORD; they mock your anointed king wherever he goes. with which your enemies mock, O LORD, with which they mock the footsteps of your anointed. the taunts with which your enemies, LORD, have mocked, with which they have mocked every step of your anointed one.
Praise the LORD forever! Amen and amen! Blessed be the LORD forever! Amen and Amen. Praise be to the LORD forever! Amen and Amen.
