1	A Maskil of Ethan the Ezrahite. I will sing of the loving devotion of the LORD forever; with my mouth I will proclaim Your faithfulness to all generations. 2	For I have said, “Loving devotion is built up forever; in the heavens You establish Your faithfulness.”	For I said, “Steadfast love will be built up forever; in the heavens you will establish your faithfulness.”	I will declare that your love stands firm forever, that you have established your faithfulness in heaven itself.
3	You said, “I have made a covenant with My chosen one, I have sworn to David My servant:	You have said, “I have made a covenant with my chosen one; I have sworn to David my servant:	You said, “I have made a covenant with my chosen one, I have sworn to David my servant,
4	‘I will establish your offspring forever and build up your throne for all generations.’” Selah	‘I will establish your offspring forever, and build your throne for all generations.’” Selah	I will establish your line forever and make your throne firm through all generations.’”

Once you spoke in a vision, to your faithful people you said: “I have bestowed strength on a warrior; I have raised up a young man from among the people.
20	I have found My servant David; with My sacred oil I have anointed him.	I have found David, my servant; with my holy oil I have anointed him,	I have found David my servant; with my sacred oil I have anointed him.
21	My hand will sustain him; surely My arm will strengthen him.	so that my hand shall be established with him; my arm also shall strengthen him.	My hand will sustain him; surely my arm will strengthen him.
22	No enemy will exact tribute; no wicked man will oppress him.	The enemy shall not outwit him; the wicked shall not humble him.	The enemy will not get the better of him; the wicked will not oppress him.

27	I will indeed appoint him as My firstborn, the highest of the kings of the earth.	And I will make him the firstborn, the highest of the kings of the earth.	And I will appoint him to be my firstborn, the most exalted of the kings of the earth.
28	I will forever preserve My loving devotion for him, and My covenant with him will stand fast.	My steadfast love I will keep for him forever, and my covenant will stand firm for him.	I will maintain my love to him forever, and my covenant with him will never fail.
29	I will establish his line forever, his throne as long as the heavens endure.	I will establish his offspring forever and his throne as the days of the heavens.	I will establish his line forever, his throne as long as the heavens endure.
30	If his sons forsake My law and do not walk in My judgments,	If his children forsake my law and do not walk according to my rules,	“If his sons forsake my law and do not follow my statutes,
31	if they violate My statutes and fail to keep My commandments,	if they violate my statutes and do not keep my commandments,	if they violate my decrees and fail to keep my commands,
32	I will attend to their transgression with the rod, and to their iniquity with stripes.	then I will punish their transgression with the rod and their iniquity with stripes,	I will punish their sin with the rod, their iniquity with flogging;
33	But I will not withdraw My loving devotion from him, nor ever betray My faithfulness.	but I will not remove from him my steadfast love or be false to my faithfulness.	but I will not take my love from him, nor will I ever betray my faithfulness.
34	I will not violate My covenant or alter the utterance of My lips.	I will not violate my covenant or alter the word that went forth from my lips.	I will not violate my covenant or alter what my lips have uttered.
35	Once and for all I have sworn by My holiness—I will not lie to David—	Once for all I have sworn by my holiness; I will not lie to David.	Once for all, I have sworn by my holiness— and I will not lie to David—
36	his offspring shall endure forever, and his throne before Me like the sun,	His offspring shall endure forever, his throne as long as the sun before me.	that his line will continue forever and his throne endure before me like the sun;

38	Now, however, You have spurned and rejected him; You are enraged by Your anointed one.	But now you have cast off and rejected; you are full of wrath against your anointed.	But you have rejected, you have spurned, you have been very angry with your anointed one.
39	You have renounced the covenant with Your servant and sullied his crown in the dust.	You have renounced the covenant with your servant; you have defiled his crown in the dust.	You have renounced the covenant with your servant and have defiled his crown in the dust.

50	Remember, O Lord, the reproach of Your servants, which I bear in my heart from so many people—	Remember, O Lord, how your servants are mocked, and how I bear in my heart the insults of all the many nations,	Remember, Lord, how your servant has been mocked, how I bear in my heart the taunts of all the nations,
51	how Your enemies have taunted, O LORD, and have mocked every step of Your anointed one!	with which your enemies mock, O LORD, with which they mock the footsteps of your anointed.	the taunts with which your enemies, LORD, have mocked, with which they have mocked every step of your anointed one.
