1	A Maskil of Ethan the Ezrahite. I will sing of the lovingkindnesses of Yahweh forever; From generation to generation I will make known Your faithfulness with my mouth.	I will sing of the steadfast love of the LORD, forever; with my mouth I will make known your faithfulness to all generations.	A maskil of Ethan the Ezrahite. 2	For I have said, “Lovingkindness will be built up forever; In the heavens You will establish Your faithfulness.”	For I said, “Steadfast love will be built up forever; in the heavens you will establish your faithfulness.”	I will declare that your love stands firm forever, that you have established your faithfulness in heaven itself.
3	“I have cut a covenant with My chosen; I have sworn to David My servant,	You have said, “I have made a covenant with my chosen one; I have sworn to David my servant:	You said, “I have made a covenant with my chosen one, I have sworn to David my servant,
4	I will establish your seed forever And build up your throne from generation to generation.” Selah.	‘I will establish your offspring forever, and build your throne for all generations.’” Selah	I will establish your line forever and make your throne firm through all generations.’”
5	The heavens will praise Your wonders, O Yahweh; Your faithfulness also in the assembly of the holy ones.	Let the heavens praise your wonders, O LORD, your faithfulness in the assembly of the holy ones!	The heavens praise your wonders, LORD, your faithfulness too, in the assembly of the holy ones.
6	For who in the sky is comparable to Yahweh? Who among the sons of the mighty is like Yahweh,	For who in the skies can be compared to the LORD? Who among the heavenly beings is like the LORD,	For who in the skies above can compare with the LORD? Who is like the LORD among the heavenly beings?
7	A God greatly dreaded in the council of the holy ones, And fearsome above all those who are around Him?	a God greatly to be feared in the council of the holy ones, and awesome above all who are around him?	In the council of the holy ones God is greatly feared; he is more awesome than all who surround him.
8	O Yahweh God of hosts, who is like You, O mighty Yah? Your faithfulness also surrounds You.	O LORD God of hosts, who is mighty as you are, O LORD, with your faithfulness all around you?	Who is like you, LORD God Almighty? You, LORD, are mighty, and your faithfulness surrounds you.
9	You rule the swelling of the sea; When its waves rise, You still them.	You rule the raging of the sea; when its waves rise, you still them.	You rule over the surging sea; when its waves mount up, you still them.
10	You Yourself crushed Rahab like one who is slain; You scattered Your enemies with Your strong arm.	You crushed Rahab like a carcass; you scattered your enemies with your mighty arm.	You crushed Rahab like one of the slain; with your strong arm you scattered your enemies.
11	The heavens are Yours, the earth also is Yours; The world and its fullness, You have founded them.	The heavens are yours; the earth also is yours; the world and all that is in it, you have founded them.	The heavens are yours, and yours also the earth; you founded the world and all that is in it.
12	The north and the south, You have created them; Tabor and Hermon sing with joy at Your name.	The north and the south, you have created them; Tabor and Hermon joyously praise your name.	You created the north and the south; Tabor and Hermon sing for joy at your name.

14	Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; Lovingkindness and truth go before You. 15	How blessed are the people who know the loud shout of joy! O Yahweh, they walk in the light of Your face. 16	In Your name they rejoice all the day, And by Your righteousness they are exalted.	who exult in your name all the day and in your righteousness are exalted.	They rejoice in your name all day long; they celebrate your righteousness.
17	For You are the beauty of their strength, And by Your favor our horn is exalted.	For you are the glory of their strength; by your favor our horn is exalted.	For you are their glory and strength, and by your favor you exalt our horn.
18	For our shield belongs to Yahweh, And our king to the Holy One of Israel.	For our shield belongs to the LORD, our king to the Holy One of Israel.	Indeed, our shield belongs to the LORD, our king to the Holy One of Israel.
19	Formerly You spoke in vision to Your holy ones, And said, “I have bestowed help to a mighty one; I have exalted one chosen from the people.	Of old you spoke in a vision to your godly one, and said: “I have granted help to one who is mighty; I have exalted one chosen from the people.	Once you spoke in a vision, to your faithful people you said: “I have bestowed strength on a warrior; I have raised up a young man from among the people.
20	I have found David My servant; With My holy oil I have anointed him,	I have found David, my servant; with my holy oil I have anointed him,	I have found David my servant; with my sacred oil I have anointed him.
21	With whom My hand will be established; My arm also will strengthen him.	so that my hand shall be established with him; my arm also shall strengthen him.	My hand will sustain him; surely my arm will strengthen him.
22	The enemy will not deceive him, Nor the son of unrighteousness afflict him.	The enemy shall not outwit him; the wicked shall not humble him.	The enemy will not get the better of him; the wicked will not oppress him.
23	But I shall crush his adversaries before him, And strike those who hate him.	I will crush his foes before him and strike down those who hate him.	I will crush his foes before him and strike down his adversaries.
24	My faithfulness and My lovingkindness will be with him, And in My name his horn will be exalted.	My faithfulness and my steadfast love shall be with him, and in my name shall his horn be exalted.	My faithful love will be with him, and through my name his horn will be exalted.
25	I shall also set his hand on the sea And his right hand on the rivers.	I will set his hand on the sea and his right hand on the rivers.	I will set his hand over the sea, his right hand over the rivers.
26	He will call to Me, ‘You are my Father, My God, and the rock of my salvation.’	He shall cry to me, ‘You are my Father, my God, and the Rock of my salvation.’	He will call out to me, ‘You are my Father, my God, the Rock my Savior.’
27	I also shall make him My firstborn, The highest of the kings of the earth.	And I will make him the firstborn, the highest of the kings of the earth.	And I will appoint him to be my firstborn, the most exalted of the kings of the earth.
28	My lovingkindness I will keep for him forever, And My covenant shall be confirmed to him.	My steadfast love I will keep for him forever, and my covenant will stand firm for him.	I will maintain my love to him forever, and my covenant with him will never fail.
29	So I will set up his seed to endure forever And his throne as the days of heaven.	I will establish his offspring forever and his throne as the days of the heavens.	I will establish his line forever, his throne as long as the heavens endure.
30	“If his sons forsake My law And do not walk in My judgments,	If his children forsake my law and do not walk according to my rules,	“If his sons forsake my law and do not follow my statutes,
31	If they profane My statutes And do not keep My commandments,	if they violate my statutes and do not keep my commandments,	if they violate my decrees and fail to keep my commands,
32	Then I will punish their transgression with the rod And their iniquity with striking.	then I will punish their transgression with the rod and their iniquity with stripes,	I will punish their sin with the rod, their iniquity with flogging;
33	But I will not break off My lovingkindness from him, Nor deal falsely in My faithfulness.	but I will not remove from him my steadfast love or be false to my faithfulness.	but I will not take my love from him, nor will I ever betray my faithfulness.
34	My covenant I will not profane, Nor will I alter what comes forth from My lips.	I will not violate my covenant or alter the word that went forth from my lips.	I will not violate my covenant or alter what my lips have uttered.
35	Once I have sworn by My holiness; I will not lie to David.	Once for all I have sworn by my holiness; I will not lie to David.	Once for all, I have sworn by my holiness— and I will not lie to David—
36	His seed shall endure forever And his throne as the sun before Me.	His offspring shall endure forever, his throne as long as the sun before me.	that his line will continue forever and his throne endure before me like the sun;
37	It shall be established forever like the moon, And the witness in the sky is faithful.” Selah.	Like the moon it shall be established forever, a faithful witness in the skies.” Selah	it will be established forever like the moon, the faithful witness in the sky.”
38	But You have cast off and rejected, You have been full of wrath against Your anointed.	But now you have cast off and rejected; you are full of wrath against your anointed.	But you have rejected, you have spurned, you have been very angry with your anointed one.
39	You have spurned the covenant of Your slave; You have profaned his crown to the ground.	You have renounced the covenant with your servant; you have defiled his crown in the dust.	You have renounced the covenant with your servant and have defiled his crown in the dust.
40	You have broken down all his walls; You have beset his strongholds with ruin.	You have breached all his walls; you have laid his strongholds in ruins.	You have broken through all his walls and reduced his strongholds to ruins.
41	All who pass along the way plunder him; He has become a reproach to his neighbors.	All who pass by plunder him; he has become the scorn of his neighbors.	All who pass by have plundered him; he has become the scorn of his neighbors.
42	You have exalted the right hand of his adversaries; You have made all his enemies be glad.	You have exalted the right hand of his foes; you have made all his enemies rejoice.	You have exalted the right hand of his foes; you have made all his enemies rejoice.
43	You also turn back the edge of his sword And have not made him arise in battle.	You have also turned back the edge of his sword, and you have not made him stand in battle.	Indeed, you have turned back the edge of his sword and have not supported him in battle.
44	You have made his splendor to cease And cast his throne to the ground.	You have made his splendor to cease and cast his throne to the ground.	You have put an end to his splendor and cast his throne to the ground.
45	You have shortened the days of his youth; You have wrapped him up with shame. Selah.	You have cut short the days of his youth; you have covered him with shame. Selah	You have cut short the days of his youth; you have covered him with a mantle of shame.
46	How long, O Yahweh? Will You hide Yourself forever? Will Your wrath burn like fire?	How long, O LORD? Will you hide yourself forever? How long will your wrath burn like fire?	How long, LORD? Will you hide yourself forever? How long will your wrath burn like fire?
47	Remember what my span of life is; For what vanity You have created all the sons of men!	Remember how short my time is! For what vanity you have created all the children of man!	Remember how fleeting is my life. For what futility you have created all humanity!
48	What man can live and not see death? Can he provide his soul escape from the power of Sheol? Selah.	What man can live and never see death? Who can deliver his soul from the power of Sheol? Selah	Who can live and not see death, or who can escape the power of the grave?
49	Where are Your former lovingkindnesses, O Lord, Which You swore to David in Your faithfulness?	Lord, where is your steadfast love of old, which by your faithfulness you swore to David?	Lord, where is your former great love, which in your faithfulness you swore to David?
50	Remember, O Lord, the reproach of Your slaves; How I bear in my bosom the reproach of all the many peoples,	Remember, O Lord, how your servants are mocked, and how I bear in my heart the insults of all the many nations,	Remember, Lord, how your servant has been mocked, how I bear in my heart the taunts of all the nations,
51	With which Your enemies have reproached, O Yahweh, With which they have reproached the footsteps of Your anointed.	with which your enemies mock, O LORD, with which they mock the footsteps of your anointed.	the taunts with which your enemies, LORD, have mocked, with which they have mocked every step of your anointed one.
52	Blessed be Yahweh forever! Amen and Amen.	Blessed be the LORD forever! Amen and Amen.	Praise be to the LORD forever! Amen and Amen.
