Καὶ ἀναστὰς ὁ ἀρχιερεὺς εἰς μέσον ἐπηρώτησεν τὸν Ἰησοῦν λέγων Οὐκ ἀποκρίνῃ οὐδέν τί οὗτοί σου καταμαρτυροῦσιν | And the high priest stood up in the midst and asked Jesus, “Have you no answer to make? What is it that these men testify against you?” | Then the high priest stood up before them and asked Jesus, “Are you not going to answer? What is this testimony that these men are bringing against you?” |
Ὁ δὲ ἐσιώπα καὶ οὐκ ἀπεκρίνατο οὐδέν Πάλιν ὁ ἀρχιερεὺς ἐπηρώτα αὐτὸν καὶ λέγει αὐτῷ Σὺ εἶ ὁ Χριστὸς ὁ Υἱὸς τοῦ Εὐλογητοῦ | But he remained silent and made no answer. Again the high priest asked him, “Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?” | But Jesus remained silent and gave no answer. Again the high priest asked him, “Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?” |
Ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν Ἐγώ εἰμι καὶ ὄψεσθε τὸν Υἱὸν τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἐκ δεξιῶν καθήμενον τῆς δυνάμεως καὶ ἐρχόμενον μετὰ τῶν νεφελῶν τοῦ οὐρανοῦ | And Jesus said, “I am, and you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.” | “I am,” said Jesus. “And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.” |
Ὁ δὲ ἀρχιερεὺς διαρρήξας τοὺς χιτῶνας αὐτοῦ λέγει Τί ἔτι χρείαν ἔχομεν μαρτύρων | And the high priest tore his garments and said, “What further witnesses do we need? | The high priest tore his clothes. “Why do we need any more witnesses?” he asked. |
ἠκούσατε τῆς βλασφημίας τί ὑμῖν φαίνεται Οἱ δὲ πάντες κατέκριναν αὐτὸν ἔνοχον εἶναι θανάτου | You have heard his blasphemy. What is your decision?” And they all condemned him as deserving death. | “You have heard the blasphemy. What do you think?” They all condemned him as worthy of death. |
