2	The house that King Solomon built for the LORD was sixty cubits long, twenty cubits wide, and thirty cubits high.	The house that King Solomon built for the LORD was sixty cubits long, twenty cubits wide, and thirty cubits high.	And the house which king Solomon built for the LORD, the length thereof <i>was</i> threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty <i>cubits</i>, and the height thereof thirty cubits.	And the house which King Solomon built for the LORD <i>was</i> sixty cubits <i>in</i> its length, and twenty <i>cubits in</i> its width, and its height <i>was</i> thirty cubits.	The temple that King Solomon built for the LORD was sixty cubits long, twenty wide and thirty high.
3	The portico at the front of the main hall of the temple was twenty cubits long, extending across the width of the temple and projecting out ten cubits in front of the temple.	The vestibule in front of the nave of the house was twenty cubits long, equal to the width of the house, and ten cubits deep in front of the house.	And the porch before the temple of the house, twenty cubits <i>was</i> the length thereof, according to the breadth of the house; <i>and</i> ten cubits <i>was</i> the breadth thereof before the house.	The porch in front of the main room of the house <i>was</i> twenty cubits in length, corresponding to the width of the house, <i>and</i> its width along the front of the house <i>was</i> ten cubits.	The portico at the front of the main hall of the temple extended the width of the temple, that is twenty cubits, and projected ten cubits from the front of the temple.
4	He also had narrow windows framed high in the temple.	And he made for the house windows with recessed frames.	And for the house he made windows of narrow lights.	Also for the house he made windows with <i>artistic</i> frames.	He made narrow windows high up in the temple walls.
5	Against the walls of the temple and the inner sanctuary, Solomon built a chambered structure around the temple, in which he constructed the side rooms.	He also built a structure against the wall of the house, running around the walls of the house, both the nave and the inner sanctuary. And he made side chambers all around.	And against the wall of the house he built chambers round about, <i>against</i> the walls of the house round about, <i>both</i> of the temple and of the oracle: and he made chambers round about:	Against the wall of the house he built stories encompassing the walls of the house around both the main room and the inner sanctuary; so he made side chambers all around.	Against the walls of the main hall and inner sanctuary he built a structure around the building, in which there were side rooms.
6	The bottom floor was five cubits wide, the middle floor six cubits, and the third floor seven cubits. He also placed offset ledges around the outside of the temple, so that nothing would be inserted into its walls.	The lowest story was five cubits broad, the middle one was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad. For around the outside of the house he made offsets on the wall in order that the supporting beams should not be inserted into the walls of the house.	The nethermost chamber <i>was</i> five cubits broad, and the middle <i>was</i> six cubits broad, and the third <i>was</i> seven cubits broad: for without <i>in the wall</i> of the house he made narrowed rests round about, that <i>the beams</i> should not be fastened in the walls of the house.	The lowest story <i>was</i> five cubits wide, the middle <i>was</i> six cubits wide, and the third <i>was</i> seven cubits wide; for on the outside he made offsets <i>in the wall</i> of the house all around so that <i>the beams</i> would not be inserted into the walls of the house.	The lowest floor was five cubits wide, the middle floor six cubits and the third floor seven. He made offset ledges around the outside of the temple so that nothing would be inserted into the temple walls.
7	The temple was constructed using finished stones cut at the quarry, so that no hammer or chisel or any other iron tool was heard in the temple while it was being built.	When the house was built, it was with stone prepared at the quarry, so that neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron was heard in the house while it was being built.	And the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready before it was brought thither: so that there was neither hammer nor axe <i>nor</i> any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building.	The house, while it was being built, was built of stone finished at the quarry, and neither hammer, nor axe, nor any iron tool was heard in the house while it was being built.	In building the temple, only blocks dressed at the quarry were used, and no hammer, chisel or any other iron tool was heard at the temple site while it was being built.
8	The entrance to the bottom floor was on the south side of the temple. A stairway led up to the middle level, and from there to the third floor.	The entrance for the lowest story was on the south side of the house, and one went up by stairs to the middle story, and from the middle story to the third.	The door for the middle chamber <i>was</i> in the right side of the house: and they went up with winding stairs into the middle <i>chamber</i>, and out of the middle into the third.	The doorway for the lowest side chamber <i>was</i> on the right side of the house; and they would go up by a winding staircase to the middle <i>story,</i> and from the middle to the third.	The entrance to the lowest floor was on the south side of the temple; a stairway led up to the middle level and from there to the third.
9	So Solomon built the temple and finished it, roofing it with beams and planks of cedar.	So he built the house and finished it, and he made the ceiling of the house of beams and planks of cedar.	So he built the house, and finished it; and covered the house with beams and boards of cedar.	So he built the house and finished it; and he covered the house with beams and planks of cedar.	So he built the temple and completed it, roofing it with beams and cedar planks.
10	He built chambers all along the temple, each five cubits high and attached to the temple with beams of cedar.	He built the structure against the whole house, five cubits high, and it was joined to the house with timbers of cedar.	And <i>then</i> he built chambers against all the house, five cubits high: and they rested on the house with timber of cedar.	He also built the stories against the whole house, <i>each</i> five cubits high; and they were attached to the house with timbers of cedar.	And he built the side rooms all along the temple. The height of each was five cubits, and they were attached to the temple by beams of cedar.
11	Then the word of the LORD came to Solomon, saying:	Now the word of the LORD came to Solomon,	And the word of the LORD came to Solomon, saying,	Now the word of the LORD came to Solomon, saying,	The word of the LORD came to Solomon:
12	“As for this temple you are building, if you walk in My statutes, carry out My ordinances, and keep all My commandments by walking in them, I will fulfill through you the promise I made to your father David.	“Concerning this house that you are building, if you will walk in my statutes and obey my rules and keep all my commandments and walk in them, then I will establish my word with you, which I spoke to David your father.	<i>Concerning</i> this house which thou art in building, if thou wilt walk in my statutes, and execute my judgments, and keep all my commandments to walk in them; then will I perform my word with thee, which I spake unto David thy father:	“<i>As for</i> this house which you are building, if you will walk in My statutes and execute My ordinances and keep all My commandments by walking in them, then I will fulfill My word with you which I spoke to David your father.	“As for this temple you are building, if you follow my decrees, observe my laws and keep all my commands and obey them, I will fulfill through you the promise I gave to David your father.
13	And I will dwell among the Israelites and will not abandon My people Israel.”	And I will dwell among the children of Israel and will not forsake my people Israel.”	And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel.	And I will dwell among the sons of Israel, and will not abandon My people Israel.”	And I will live among the Israelites and will not abandon my people Israel.”
14	So Solomon built the temple and finished it.	So Solomon built the house and finished it.	So Solomon built the house, and finished it.	So Solomon built the house and finished it.	So Solomon built the temple and completed it.
15	He lined the interior walls with cedar paneling from the floor of the temple to the ceiling, and he covered the floor with cypress boards.	He lined the walls of the house on the inside with boards of cedar. From the floor of the house to the walls of the ceiling, he covered them on the inside with wood, and he covered the floor of the house with boards of cypress.	And he built the walls of the house within with boards of cedar, both the floor of the house, and the walls of the cieling: <i>and</i> he covered <i>them</i> on the inside with wood, and covered the floor of the house with planks of fir.	He built the walls of the house on the inside with boards of cedar; from the floor of the house to the ceiling he paneled <i>the walls</i> on the inside with wood, and he paneled the floor of the house with boards of juniper.	He lined its interior walls with cedar boards, paneling them from the floor of the temple to the ceiling, and covered the floor of the temple with planks of juniper.
16	He partitioned off the twenty cubits at the rear of the temple with cedar boards from floor to ceiling to form within the temple an inner sanctuary, the Most Holy Place.	He built twenty cubits of the rear of the house with boards of cedar from the floor to the walls, and he built this within as an inner sanctuary, as the Most Holy Place.	And he built twenty cubits on the sides of the house, both the floor and the walls with boards of cedar: he even built <i>them</i> for it within, <i>even</i> for the oracle, <i>even</i> for the most holy <i>place</i>.	He also built twenty cubits on the rear part of the house with boards of cedar from the floor to the ceiling; he built <i>them</i> for it on the inside as an inner sanctuary, as the Most Holy Place.	He partitioned off twenty cubits at the rear of the temple with cedar boards from floor to ceiling to form within the temple an inner sanctuary, the Most Holy Place.
17	And the main hall in front of this room was forty cubits long.	The house, that is, the nave in front of the inner sanctuary, was forty cubits long.	And the house, that <i>is</i>, the temple before it, was forty cubits <i>long</i>.	The house, that is, the main room in front of <i>the inner sanctuary,</i> was forty cubits <i>long.</i>	The main hall in front of this room was forty cubits long.
18	The cedar paneling inside the temple was carved with gourds and open flowers. Everything was cedar; not a stone could be seen.	The cedar within the house was carved in the form of gourds and open flowers. All was cedar; no stone was seen.	And the cedar of the house within <i>was</i> carved with knops and open flowers: all <i>was</i> cedar; there was no stone seen.	There was cedar inside the house, carved <i>in the shape</i> of gourds and open flowers; everything was cedar, there was no stone visible.	The inside of the temple was cedar, carved with gourds and open flowers. Everything was cedar; no stone was to be seen.
19	Solomon also prepared the inner sanctuary within the temple to set the ark of the covenant of the LORD there.	The inner sanctuary he prepared in the innermost part of the house, to set there the ark of the covenant of the LORD.	And the oracle he prepared in the house within, to set there the ark of the covenant of the LORD.	Then he prepared an inner sanctuary inside the house in order to place there the ark of the covenant of the LORD.	He prepared the inner sanctuary within the temple to set the ark of the covenant of the LORD there.
20	The inner sanctuary was twenty cubits long, twenty cubits wide, and twenty cubits high. He overlaid the inside with pure gold, and he also overlaid the altar of cedar.	The inner sanctuary was twenty cubits long, twenty cubits wide, and twenty cubits high, and he overlaid it with pure gold. He also overlaid an altar of cedar.	And the oracle in the forepart <i>was</i> twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and twenty cubits in the height thereof: and he overlaid it with pure gold; and <i>so</i> covered the altar <i>which was of</i> cedar.	The inner sanctuary <i>was</i> twenty cubits in length, twenty cubits in width, and twenty cubits in height; and he overlaid it with pure gold. He also paneled the altar with cedar.	The inner sanctuary was twenty cubits long, twenty wide and twenty high. He overlaid the inside with pure gold, and he also overlaid the altar of cedar.
21	So Solomon overlaid the inside of the temple with pure gold, and he extended gold chains across the front of the inner sanctuary, which was overlaid with gold.	And Solomon overlaid the inside of the house with pure gold, and he drew chains of gold across, in front of the inner sanctuary, and overlaid it with gold.	So Solomon overlaid the house within with pure gold: and he made a partition by the chains of gold before the oracle; and he overlaid it with gold.	So Solomon overlaid the inside of the house with pure gold. And he extended chains of gold across the front of the inner sanctuary, and he overlaid it with gold.	Solomon covered the inside of the temple with pure gold, and he extended gold chains across the front of the inner sanctuary, which was overlaid with gold.
22	So he overlaid with gold the whole interior of the temple, until everything was completely finished. He also overlaid with gold the entire altar that belonged to the inner sanctuary.	And he overlaid the whole house with gold, until all the house was finished. Also the whole altar that belonged to the inner sanctuary he overlaid with gold.	And the whole house he overlaid with gold, until he had finished all the house: also the whole altar that <i>was</i> by the oracle he overlaid with gold.	He overlaid the entire house with gold, until all the house was finished. Also the entire altar which was by the inner sanctuary he overlaid with gold.	So he overlaid the whole interior with gold. He also overlaid with gold the altar that belonged to the inner sanctuary.
23	In the inner sanctuary he made two cherubim, each ten cubits high, out of olive wood.	In the inner sanctuary he made two cherubim of olivewood, each ten cubits high.	And within the oracle he made two cherubims <i>of</i> olive tree, <i>each</i> ten cubits high.	And in the inner sanctuary he made two cherubim of olive wood, each ten cubits high.	For the inner sanctuary he made a pair of cherubim out of olive wood, each ten cubits high.
24	One wing of the first cherub was five cubits long, and the other wing was five cubits long as well. So the full wingspan was ten cubits.	Five cubits was the length of one wing of the cherub, and five cubits the length of the other wing of the cherub; it was ten cubits from the tip of one wing to the tip of the other.	And five cubits <i>was</i> the one wing of the cherub, and five cubits the other wing of the cherub: from the uttermost part of the one wing unto the uttermost part of the other <i>were</i> ten cubits.	The one wing of the <i>first</i> cherub <i>was</i> five cubits, and the other wing of the <i>first</i> cherub <i>was</i> five cubits; from the end of one wing to the end of the other wing <i>were</i> ten cubits.	One wing of the first cherub was five cubits long, and the other wing five cubits—ten cubits from wing tip to wing tip.
25	The second cherub also measured ten cubits; both cherubim had the same size and shape,	The other cherub also measured ten cubits; both cherubim had the same measure and the same form.	And the other cherub <i>was</i> ten cubits: both the cherubims <i>were</i> of one measure and one size.	The second cherub <i>was</i> ten cubits; both of the cherubim were of the same measurement and the same form.	The second cherub also measured ten cubits, for the two cherubim were identical in size and shape.
26	and the height of each cherub was ten cubits.	The height of one cherub was ten cubits, and so was that of the other cherub. 27	And he placed the cherubim inside the innermost room of the temple. Since their wings were spread out, the wing of the first cherub touched one wall, while the wing of the second cherub touched the other wall, and in the middle of the room their wingtips touched.	He put the cherubim in the innermost part of the house. And the wings of the cherubim were spread out so that a wing of one touched the one wall, and a wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; their other wings touched each other in the middle of the house.	And he set the cherubims within the inner house: and they stretched forth the wings of the cherubims, so that the wing of the one touched the <i>one</i> wall, and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; and their wings touched one another in the midst of the house.	He placed the cherubim in the midst of the inner house, and the wings of the cherubim spread out so that the wing of the one was touching the <i>one</i> wall, and the wing of the other cherub was touching the other wall. And their wings were touching end to end in the center of the house.	He placed the cherubim inside the innermost room of the temple, with their wings spread out. The wing of one cherub touched one wall, while the wing of the other touched the other wall, and their wings touched each other in the middle of the room.
28	He also overlaid the cherubim with gold.	And he overlaid the cherubim with gold.	And he overlaid the cherubims with gold.	He also overlaid the cherubim with gold.	He overlaid the cherubim with gold.
29	Then he carved the walls all around the temple, in both the inner and outer sanctuaries, with carved engravings of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers.	Around all the walls of the house he carved engraved figures of cherubim and palm trees and open flowers, in the inner and outer rooms.	And he carved all the walls of the house round about with carved figures of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, within and without.	Then he carved all the surrounding walls of the house with engravings of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers, for the inner and outer <i>sanctuaries.</i>	On the walls all around the temple, in both the inner and outer rooms, he carved cherubim, palm trees and open flowers.
30	And he overlaid the temple floor with gold in both the inner and outer sanctuaries.	The floor of the house he overlaid with gold in the inner and outer rooms.	And the floor of the house he overlaid with gold, within and without.	And he overlaid the floor of the house with gold, for the inner and outer <i>sanctuaries.</i>	He also covered the floors of both the inner and outer rooms of the temple with gold.
31	For the entrance to the inner sanctuary, Solomon constructed doors of olive wood with five-sided doorposts.	For the entrance to the inner sanctuary he made doors of olivewood; the lintel and the doorposts were five-sided.	And for the entering of the oracle he made doors <i>of</i> olive tree: the lintel <i>and</i> side posts <i>were</i> a fifth part <i>of the wall</i>.	And for the entrance of the inner sanctuary he made doors of olive wood, the lintel, <i>and</i> five-sided doorposts.	For the entrance to the inner sanctuary he made doors out of olive wood that were one fifth of the width of the sanctuary.
32	The double doors were made of olive wood, and he carved into them cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers and overlaid the cherubim and palm trees with hammered gold.	He covered the two doors of olivewood with carvings of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers. He overlaid them with gold and spread gold on the cherubim and on the palm trees.	The two doors also <i>were of</i> olive tree; and he carved upon them carvings of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, and overlaid <i>them</i> with gold, and spread gold upon the cherubims, and upon the palm trees.	So <i>he made</i> two doors of olive wood, and he carved on them carvings of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold; and he overlaid the cherubim and the palm trees with gold.	And on the two olive-wood doors he carved cherubim, palm trees and open flowers, and overlaid the cherubim and palm trees with hammered gold.
33	In the same way he made four-sided doorposts of olive wood for the sanctuary entrance.	So also he made for the entrance to the nave doorposts of olivewood, in the form of a square,	So also made he for the door of the temple posts <i>of</i> olive tree, a fourth part <i>of the wall</i>.	So too he made for the entrance of the main room four-sided doorposts of olive wood,	In the same way, for the entrance to the main hall he made doorframes out of olive wood that were one fourth of the width of the hall.
34	The two doors were made of cypress wood, and each had two folding panels.	and two doors of cypress wood. The two leaves of the one door were folding, and the two leaves of the other door were folding.	And the two doors <i>were of</i> fir tree: the two leaves of the one door <i>were</i> folding, and the two leaves of the other door <i>were</i> folding.	and two doors of juniper wood; the two leaves of the one door turned on pivots, and the two leaves of the other door turned on pivots.	He also made two doors out of juniper wood, each having two leaves that turned in sockets.
35	He carved into them cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers; and he overlaid them with gold, hammered evenly over the carvings.	On them he carved cherubim and palm trees and open flowers, and he overlaid them with gold evenly applied on the carved work.	And he carved <i>thereon</i> cherubims and palm trees and open flowers: and covered <i>them</i> with gold fitted upon the carved work.	He carved <i>on it</i> cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers; and he overlaid <i>them</i> with gold plated on the carved work.	He carved cherubim, palm trees and open flowers on them and overlaid them with gold hammered evenly over the carvings.
36	Solomon built the inner courtyard with three rows of dressed stone and one row of trimmed cedar beams.	He built the inner court with three courses of cut stone and one course of cedar beams.	And he built the inner court with three rows of hewed stone, and a row of cedar beams.	And he built the inner courtyard with three rows of cut stone and a row of cedar beams.	And he built the inner courtyard of three courses of dressed stone and one course of trimmed cedar beams.
37	The foundation of the house of the LORD was laid in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign, in the month of Ziv.	In the fourth year the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid, in the month of Ziv.	In the fourth year was the foundation of the house of the LORD laid, in the month Zif:	In the fourth year the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid, in the month of Ziv.	The foundation of the temple of the LORD was laid in the fourth year, in the month of Ziv.
38	In his eleventh year and eighth month, the month of Bul, the temple was finished in every detail and according to every specification. So he built the temple in seven years.	And in the eleventh year, in the month of Bul, which is the eighth month, the house was finished in all its parts, and according to all its specifications. He was seven years in building it.	And in the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which <i>is</i> the eighth month, was the house finished throughout all the parts thereof, and according to all the fashion of it. So was he seven years in building it.	And in the eleventh year, in the month of Bul, that is, the eighth month, the house was finished in all its parts and in accordance with all its plans. So he was seven years in building it.	In the eleventh year in the month of Bul, the eighth month, the temple was finished in all its details according to its specifications. He had spent seven years building it.
