1	And I make known to you, brothers, the good news that I proclaimed to you, which you also received, in which you also have stood,	Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand,	Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand.
2	through which you are also being saved, if you hold fast [to] the word—what I proclaimed as good news to you—unless you believed in vain.	and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.	By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
3	For I delivered to you as most important what I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Writings,	For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures,	For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
4	and that He was buried, and that He has risen on the third day according to the Writings,	that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures,	that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,

10	and by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace that [is] toward me did not come in vain, but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God that [is] with me;	But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me.	But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.
11	whether, then, I or they, so we preach, and so you believed.	Whether then it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed.	Whether, then, it is I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed.
12	And if Christ is preached, that He has risen out of the dead, how [do] certain among you say that there is no resurrection of [the] dead?	Now if Christ is proclaimed as raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?	But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?
13	And if there is no resurrection of [the] dead, neither has Christ risen;	But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised.	If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised.
14	and if Christ has not risen, then our preaching [is] void, and your faith [is] also void,	And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain.	And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith.
15	and we are also found [to be] false witnesses of God, because we testified of God that He raised up the Christ, whom He did not raise if then dead persons do not rise;	We are even found to be misrepresenting God, because we testified about God that he raised Christ, whom he did not raise if it is true that the dead are not raised.	More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised.
16	for if dead persons do not rise, neither has Christ risen,	For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised.	For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either.
17	and if Christ has not risen, your faith is vain, you are yet in your sins;	And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins.	And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.
18	then, also, those having fallen asleep in Christ perished;	Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished.	Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost.
19	if we only have hope in Christ in this life, we are to be most pitied of all men.	If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied.	If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied.
20	And now, Christ has risen out of the dead—He became the first-fruits of those sleeping,	But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.	But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.
21	for since through man [is] death, also through Man [is] a resurrection of the dead,	For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead.	For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man.
22	for even as in Adam all die, so also in the Christ all will be made alive,	For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.	For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.
23	and each in his proper order: Christ, a first-fruit, afterward those who are the Christ’s in His coming,	But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ.	But each in turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him.
24	then—the end, when He may deliver up the kingdom to God, even the Father, when He may have made all rule useless, and all authority and power.	Then comes the end, when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father after destroying every rule and every authority and power.	Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power.
25	For it is necessary for Him to reign until He may have put all the enemies under His feet.	For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.	For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.
26	The last enemy is done away with—death.	The last enemy to be destroyed is death.	The last enemy to be destroyed is death.
27	For He put all things under His feet, and when one may say that all things have been subjected, [it is] evident that He is excepted who subjected all things to Him,	For “God has put all things in subjection under his feet.” But when it says, “all things are put in subjection,” it is plain that he is excepted who put all things in subjection under him.	For he “has put everything under his feet.” Now when it says that “everything” has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ.
28	and when all things may be subjected to Him, then also the Son Himself will be subject to Him, who subjected to Him all things, that God may be the all in all.	When all things are subjected to him, then the Son himself will also be subjected to him who put all things in subjection under him, that God may be all in all.	When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all.
29	Seeing what will they do who are immersed for the dead, if the dead do not rise at all? Why are they also immersed for the dead?	Otherwise, what do people mean by being baptized on behalf of the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why are people baptized on their behalf?	Now if there is no resurrection, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why are people baptized for them?
30	Why do we also stand in peril every hour?	Why are we in danger every hour?	And as for us, why do we endanger ourselves every hour?
31	I die every day, by the glorying of you that I have in Christ Jesus our Lord.	I protest, brothers, by my pride in you, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die every day!	I face death every day—yes, just as surely as I boast about you in Christ Jesus our Lord.
32	If I fought with wild beasts in Ephesus after the manner of a man, what [is] the advantage to me if the dead do not rise? Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die!	What do I gain if, humanly speaking, I fought with beasts at Ephesus? If the dead are not raised, “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.”	If I fought wild beasts in Ephesus with no more than human hopes, what have I gained? If the dead are not raised, “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.”
33	Do not be led astray; evil communications corrupt good manners;	Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.”	Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.”
34	wake up, as is right, and do not sin; for some have an ignorance of God; I say [it] to you for shame.	Wake up from your drunken stupor, as is right, and do not go on sinning. For some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.	Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God—I say this to your shame.
35	But someone will say, “How do the dead rise?”	But someone will ask, “How are the dead raised? With what kind of body do they come?”	But someone will ask, “How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come?”
36	Unwise! You—what you sow is not quickened except it may die;	You foolish person! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies.	How foolish! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies.
37	and that which you sow, you do not sow the body that will be, but a bare grain, it may be of wheat, or of someone of the others,	And what you sow is not the body that is to be, but a bare kernel, perhaps of wheat or of some other grain.	When you sow, you do not plant the body that will be, but just a seed, perhaps of wheat or of something else.
38	and God gives a body to it according as He willed, and its proper body to each of the seeds.	But God gives it a body as he has chosen, and to each kind of seed its own body.	But God gives it a body as he has determined, and to each kind of seed he gives its own body.
39	All flesh [is] not the same flesh, but there is one flesh of men, and another flesh of beasts, and another of fishes, and another of birds;	For not all flesh is the same, but there is one kind for humans, another for animals, another for birds, and another for fish.	Not all flesh is the same: People have one kind of flesh, animals have another, birds another and fish another.
40	and [there are] heavenly bodies and earthly bodies; but one [is] the glory of the heavenly, and another that of the earthly;	There are heavenly bodies and earthly bodies, but the glory of the heavenly is of one kind, and the glory of the earthly is of another.	There are also heavenly bodies and there are earthly bodies; but the splendor of the heavenly bodies is one kind, and the splendor of the earthly bodies is another.
41	one glory of sun, and another glory of moon, and another glory of stars, for star differs from star in glory.	There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for star differs from star in glory.	The sun has one kind of splendor, the moon another and the stars another; and star differs from star in splendor.
42	So also [is] the resurrection of the dead: it is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption;	So is it with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown is perishable; what is raised is imperishable.	So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable;
43	it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power;	It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power.	it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power;
44	it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body; there is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body;	It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.	it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.
45	so also it has been written: “The first man Adam became a living creature,” the last Adam [is] for a life-giving spirit,	Thus it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam became a life-giving spirit.	So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living being\|; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit.
46	but that which is spiritual [is] not first, but that which [was] natural, afterward that which [is] spiritual.	But it is not the spiritual that is first but the natural, and then the spiritual.	The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual.
47	The first man [is] out of the earth—earthly; the second Man [is] the LORD out of Heaven;	The first man was from the earth, a man of dust; the second man is from heaven.	The first man was of the dust of the earth; the second man is of heaven.
48	as [is] the earthly, such [are] also the earthly; and as [is] the heavenly, such [are] also the heavenly;	As was the man of dust, so also are those who are of the dust, and as is the man of heaven, so also are those who are of heaven.	As was the earthly man, so are those who are of the earth; and as is the heavenly man, so also are those who are of heaven.
49	and according as we bore the image of the earthly, we will also bear the image of the heavenly.	Just as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the man of heaven.	And just as we have borne the image of the earthly man, so shall we bear the image of the heavenly man.
50	And this I say, brothers, that flesh and blood are not able to inherit the Kingdom of God, nor does the corruption inherit the incorruption.	I tell you this, brothers: flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.	I declare to you, brothers and sisters, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.
51	Behold, I tell you a secret: we indeed will not all sleep, but we will all be changed;	Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,	Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed—
52	in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, in the last trumpet, for it will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we will be changed;	in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.	in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.
53	for it is necessary for this corruptible to put on incorruption, and this mortal to put on immortality;	For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality.	For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality.
54	and when this corruptible may have put on incorruption, and this mortal may have put on immortality, then will be brought to pass the word that has been written: “Death was swallowed up—to victory;	When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”	When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”
55	Where, O Death, your sting? Where, O Death [[or Hades]], your victory?”	“O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”	“Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?”
56	And the sting of death [is] sin, and the power of sin the Law;	The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.	The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
57	and to God—thanks, to Him who is giving us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ;	But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.	But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58	so that, my beloved brothers, become steadfast, unmovable, abounding in the work of the LORD at all times, knowing that your labor in the LORD is not vain.	Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.	Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
