Psalm 104
KJV Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
King James BibleNew Living Translation
Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty.1Let all that I am praise the LORD. O LORD my God, how great you are! You are robed with honor and majesty.
Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain:2You are dressed in a robe of light. You stretch out the starry curtain of the heavens;
Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind:3you lay out the rafters of your home in the rain clouds. You make the clouds your chariot; you ride upon the wings of the wind.
Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:4The winds are your messengers; flames of fire are your servants.
Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.5You placed the world on its foundation so it would never be moved.
Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains.6You clothed the earth with floods of water, water that covered even the mountains.
At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away.7At your command, the water fled; at the sound of your thunder, it hurried away.
They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place which thou hast founded for them.8Mountains rose and valleys sank to the levels you decreed.
Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth.9Then you set a firm boundary for the seas, so they would never again cover the earth.
He sendeth the springs into the valleys, which run among the hills.10You make springs pour water into the ravines, so streams gush down from the mountains.
They give drink to every beast of the field: the wild asses quench their thirst.11They provide water for all the animals, and the wild donkeys quench their thirst.
By them shall the fowls of the heaven have their habitation, which sing among the branches.12The birds nest beside the streams and sing among the branches of the trees.
He watereth the hills from his chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works.13You send rain on the mountains from your heavenly home, and you fill the earth with the fruit of your labor.
He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth;14You cause grass to grow for the livestock and plants for people to use. You allow them to produce food from the earth—
And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man's heart.15wine to make them glad, olive oil to soothe their skin, and bread to give them strength.
The trees of the LORD are full of sap; the cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted;16The trees of the LORD are well cared for— the cedars of Lebanon that he planted.
Where the birds make their nests: as for the stork, the fir trees are her house.17There the birds make their nests, and the storks make their homes in the cypresses.
The high hills are a refuge for the wild goats; and the rocks for the conies.18High in the mountains live the wild goats, and the rocks form a refuge for the hyraxes.
He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.19You made the moon to mark the seasons, and the sun knows when to set.
Thou makest darkness, and it is night: wherein all the beasts of the forest do creep forth.20You send the darkness, and it becomes night, when all the forest animals prowl about.
The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their meat from God.21Then the young lions roar for their prey, stalking the food provided by God.
The sun ariseth, they gather themselves together, and lay them down in their dens.22At dawn they slink back into their dens to rest.
Man goeth forth unto his work and to his labour until the evening.23Then people go off to their work, where they labor until evening.
O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.24O LORD, what a variety of things you have made! In wisdom you have made them all. The earth is full of your creatures.
So is this great and wide sea, wherein are things creeping innumerable, both small and great beasts.25Here is the ocean, vast and wide, teeming with life of every kind, both large and small.
There go the ships: there is that leviathan, whom thou hast made to play therein.26See the ships sailing along, and Leviathan, which you made to play in the sea.
These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give them their meat in due season.27They all depend on you to give them food as they need it.
That thou givest them they gather: thou openest thine hand, they are filled with good.28When you supply it, they gather it. You open your hand to feed them, and they are richly satisfied.
Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust.29But if you turn away from them, they panic. When you take away their breath, they die and turn again to dust.
Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth.30When you give them your breath, life is created, and you renew the face of the earth.
The glory of the LORD shall endure for ever: the LORD shall rejoice in his works.31May the glory of the LORD continue forever! The LORD takes pleasure in all he has made!
He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth: he toucheth the hills, and they smoke.32The earth trembles at his glance; the mountains smoke at his touch.
I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.33I will sing to the LORD as long as I live. I will praise my God to my last breath!
My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD.34May all my thoughts be pleasing to him, for I rejoice in the LORD.
Let the sinners be consumed out of the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless thou the LORD, O my soul. Praise ye the LORD.35Let all sinners vanish from the face of the earth; let the wicked disappear forever. Let all that I am praise the LORD. Praise the LORD!
