Then I called on the name of the LORD: "O LORD, deliver my soul!"
In my distress I cried to the LORD, and He answered me.
Matthew 26:38, 39
Then He said to them, "My soul is consumed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with Me." . . .
And in His anguish, He prayed more earnestly, and His sweat became like drops of blood falling to the ground.
During the days of Jesus' earthly life, He offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the One who could save Him from death, and He was heard because of His reverence.
The LORD said, "I have indeed seen the misery of My people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their oppressors, and I am aware of their sufferings.
Psalm 34:6, 15-17
This poor man called out, and the LORD heard him; He saved him from all his troubles. . . .
1 Kings 8:28-30
Yet regard the prayer and plea of Your servant, O LORD my God, so that You may hear the cry and the prayer that Your servant is praying before You today. . . .
In my distress I called upon the LORD and I cried to my God for help. From His temple He heard my voice, and my cry for His help reached His ears.
One thing I have asked of the LORD, this is what I desire: to dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the LORD and seek Him in His temple.
Jonah 2:4, 7
At this, I said, 'I have been banished from Your sight; yet I will look once more toward Your holy temple.' . . .
But the LORD is in His holy temple; let all the earth be silent before Him."
Look, the wages you withheld from the workmen who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of Hosts.
