1 For the music director; according to the tune |Morning Doe;| a psalm of David. My God, my God, why have you abandoned me? I groan in prayer, but help seems far away. My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, from the words of my groaning? For the director of music. To the tune of “The Doe of the Morning.” A psalm of David. My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, so far from my cries of anguish?
2 My God, I cry out during the day, but you do not answer, and during the night my prayers do not let up. O my God, I cry by day, but you do not answer, and by night, but I find no rest. My God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer, by night, but I find no rest.
3 You are holy; you sit as king receiving the praises of Israel. Yet you are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel. Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One; you are the one Israel praises.
4 In you our ancestors trusted; they trusted in you and you rescued them. In you our fathers trusted; they trusted, and you delivered them. In you our ancestors put their trust; they trusted and you delivered them.

9 Yes, you are the one who brought me out from the womb and made me feel secure on my mother's breasts. Yet you are he who took me from the womb; you made me trust you at my mother’s breasts. Yet you brought me out of the womb; you made me trust in you, even at my mother’s breast.
10 I have been dependent on you since birth; from the time I came out of my mother's womb you have been my God. On you was I cast from my birth, and from my mother’s womb you have been my God. From birth I was cast on you; from my mother’s womb you have been my God.
11 Do not remain far away from me, for trouble is near and I have no one to help me. Be not far from me, for trouble is near, and there is none to help. Do not be far from me, for trouble is near and there is no one to help.

23 You loyal followers of the LORD, praise him! All you descendants of Jacob, honor him! All you descendants of Israel, stand in awe of him! You who fear the LORD, praise him! 24 For he did not despise or detest the suffering of the oppressed; he did not ignore him; when he cried out to him, he responded. For he has not despised or abhorred the affliction of the afflicted, and he has not hidden his face from him, but has heard, when he cried to him. 25 You are the reason I offer praise in the great assembly; I will fulfill my promises before the LORD's loyal followers. From you comes my praise in the great congregation; my vows I will perform before those who fear him. From you comes the theme of my praise in the great assembly; before those who fear you I will fulfill my vows.
26 Let the oppressed eat and be filled! Let those who seek his help praise the LORD! May you live forever! The afflicted shall eat and be satisfied; those who seek him shall praise the LORD! May your hearts live forever! The poor will eat and be satisfied; those who seek the LORD will praise him— may your hearts live forever!
27 Let all the people of the earth acknowledge the LORD and turn to him! Let all the nations worship you! All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the LORD, and all the families of the nations shall worship before you. All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the LORD, and all the families of the nations will bow down before him,
28 For the LORD is king and rules over the nations. For kingship belongs to the LORD, and he rules over the nations. for dominion belongs to the LORD and he rules over the nations.
29 All of the thriving people of the earth will join the celebration and worship; all those who are descending into the grave will bow before him, including those who cannot preserve their lives. All the prosperous of the earth eat and worship; before him shall bow all who go down to the dust, even the one who could not keep himself alive. All the rich of the earth will feast and worship; all who go down to the dust will kneel before him— those who cannot keep themselves alive.
30 A whole generation will serve him; they will tell the next generation about the sovereign Lord. Posterity shall serve him; it shall be told of the Lord to the coming generation; Posterity will serve him; future generations will be told about the Lord.
31 They will come and tell about his saving deeds; they will tell a future generation what he has accomplished. they shall come and proclaim his righteousness to a people yet unborn, that he has done it. They will proclaim his righteousness, declaring to a people yet unborn: He has done it!
