1	And having looked up, He saw the ones casting their gifts into the treasury—the rich.	Jesus looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the offering box,	As Jesus looked up, he saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury.
2	And He saw a certain poor widow casting there two lepta.	and he saw a poor widow put in two small copper coins.	He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins.
3	“And He said, “Truly I say to you⁺ that this poor widow cast in more than all.	And he said, “Truly, I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them.	“Truly I tell you,” he said, “this poor widow has put in more than all the others.
4	For these all cast in the gifts out of that which is abounding to them, but she out of her lack cast in all the livelihood that she had.”	For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.”	All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.”
5	And some speaking about the temple, that it was adorned with goodly stones and consecrated gifts, He said,	And while some were speaking of the temple, how it was adorned with noble stones and offerings, he said,	Some of his disciples were remarking about how the temple was adorned with beautiful stones and with gifts dedicated to God. But Jesus said,
6	“These things that you⁺ are beholding, the days will come in which not a stone will be left upon a stone that will not be thrown down.”	“As for these things that you see, the days will come when there will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down.”	“As for what you see here, the time will come when not one stone will be left on another; every one of them will be thrown down.”
7	And they questioned Him, saying, “Teacher, when, then, will these things be, and what is the sign when these things are about to happen?”	And they asked him, “Teacher, when will these things be, and what will be the sign when these things are about to take place?”	“Teacher,” they asked, “when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that they are about to take place?”
8	And He said, “Take heed, lest you⁺ be led astray; for many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and, ‘The time has drawn near.’ Do not go after them.	And he said, “See that you are not led astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he!’ and, ‘The time is at hand!’ Do not go after them.	He replied: “Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am he,’ and, ‘The time is near.’ Do not follow them.
9	And when you⁺ may hear of wars and disturbances, do not be terrified; for it is necessary for these things to happen first, but the end is not immediately.”	And when you hear of wars and tumults, do not be terrified, for these things must first take place, but the end will not be at once.”	When you hear of wars and uprisings, do not be frightened. These things must happen first, but the end will not come right away.”
10	Then He was saying to them, “Nation will rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.	Then he said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.	Then he said to them: “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
11	There will be also great earthquakes and famines and pestilences in various places. There will also be fearful sights and great signs from heaven.	There will be great earthquakes, and in various places famines and pestilences. And there will be terrors and great signs from heaven.	There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.
12	But before all these things, they will lay their hands upon you⁺ and will persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons, leading you away before kings and governors on account of My name.	But before all this they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors for my name’s sake.	“But before all this, they will seize you and persecute you. They will hand you over to synagogues and put you in prison, and you will be brought before kings and governors, and all on account of my name.
13	It will result to you⁺ for a testimony.	This will be your opportunity to bear witness.	And so you will bear testimony to me.
14	Settle, therefore, in your⁺ hearts not to premeditate to make a defense.	Settle it therefore in your minds not to meditate beforehand how to answer,	But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves.
15	For I will give you⁺ a mouth and wisdom, which all those opposing you⁺ will neither be able to resist nor contradict.	for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict.	For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict.
16	And you⁺ will be delivered up even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and they will put to death some of you⁺.	You will be delivered up even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and some of you they will put to death.	You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers and sisters, relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death.
17	And you⁺ will be hated by all because of My name.	You will be hated by all for my name’s sake.	Everyone will hate you because of me.
18	And no, not a hair of your⁺ head shall perish.	But not a hair of your head will perish.	But not a hair of your head will perish.
19	By your⁺ perseverance you⁺ will gain your⁺ souls.	By your endurance you will gain your lives.	Stand firm, and you will win life.
20	But when you⁺ shall see Jerusalem being encircled by encampments, then know that her desolation has drawn near.	“But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation has come near.	“When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near.
21	Then those in Judea, let them flee to the mountains; and those in her midst, let them depart; and those in the country, let them not enter into her.	Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, and let those who are inside the city depart, and let not those who are out in the country enter it,	Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those in the city get out, and let those in the country not enter the city.
22	For these are the days of avenging, to fulfill all things having been written.	for these are days of vengeance, to fulfill all that is written.	For this is the time of punishment in fulfillment of all that has been written.
23	Woe to those having in womb and to those nursing in those days! For there will be great distress upon the land and wrath to this people.	Alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days! For there will be great distress upon the earth and wrath against this people.	How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! There will be great distress in the land and wrath against this people.
24	And they will fall by the mouth of the sword and will be led captive into all the nations, and Jerusalem will be trodden down by the nations until the times of the nations are fulfilled.	They will fall by the edge of the sword and be led captive among all nations, and Jerusalem will be trampled underfoot by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.	They will fall by the sword and will be taken as prisoners to all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
25	And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and upon the earth distress of nations with perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the rolling surge—	“And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves,	“There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea.
26	men fainting from fear and expectation of the things coming on the world. For the powers of the heavens will be shaken.	people fainting with fear and with foreboding of what is coming on the world. For the powers of the heavens will be shaken.	People will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken.

29	And He spoke to them a parable: “Behold the fig tree and all the trees.	And he told them a parable: “Look at the fig tree, and all the trees.	He told them this parable: “Look at the fig tree and all the trees.
30	When they already may cast forth, looking for yourselves you⁺ know that already the summer is near.	As soon as they come out in leaf, you see for yourselves and know that the summer is already near.	When they sprout leaves, you can see for yourselves and know that summer is near.
31	So also you⁺, when you⁺ see these things coming to pass, know that the kingdom of God is near.	So also, when you see these things taking place, you know that the kingdom of God is near.	Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that the kingdom of God is near.
32	Truly I say to you⁺ that this generation shall not pass away until all shall come to pass.	Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all has taken place.	“Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.
33	The heaven and the earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away.	Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.	Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
34	And take heed to yourselves, lest your⁺ hearts ever be burdened with dissipation and drunkenness and the cares of life—and that day would come upon you⁺ suddenly as a snare.	“But watch yourselves lest your hearts be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and cares of this life, and that day come upon you suddenly like a trap.	“Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap.
35	For it will come upon all those sitting upon the face of all the earth.	For it will come upon all who dwell on the face of the whole earth.	For it will come on all those who live on the face of the whole earth.
36	But stay awake in every season, praying that you⁺ may have strength to escape all these things that are about to come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”	But stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.”	Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.”
37	And during the day He was teaching in the temple, and in the evening, going out, He was lodging on the mount called Olivet.	And every day he was teaching in the temple, but at night he went out and lodged on the mount called Olivet.	Each day Jesus was teaching at the temple, and each evening he went out to spend the night on the hill called the Mount of Olives,
38	And all the people were coming early to Him in the temple to hear Him.	And early in the morning all the people came to him in the temple to hear him.	and all the people came early in the morning to hear him at the temple.
