1 AND it came to pass, that in those days there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that the whole world should be enrolled. In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world.
2 This enrolling was first made by Cyrinus, the governor of Syria. This was the first registration when Quirinius was governor of Syria. (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.)
3 And all went to be enrolled, every one into his own city. And all went to be registered, each to his own town. And everyone went to their own town to register.
4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem: because he was of the house and family of David, And Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the town of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David.

6 And it came to pass, that when they were there, her days were accomplished, that she should be delivered. And while they were there, the time came for her to give birth. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born,
7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him up in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. 12 And this shall be a sign unto you. You shall find the infant wrapped in swaddling clothes, and laid in a manger. 15 And it came to pass, after the angels departed from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another: Let us go over to Bethlehem, and let us see this word that is come to pass, which the Lord hath shewed to us. When the angels went away from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let us go over to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.” When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
16 And they came with haste; and they found Mary and Joseph, and the infant lying in the manger. And they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in a manger. So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger.

25 And behold there was a man in Jerusalem named Simeon, and this man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel; and the Holy Ghost was in him. Now there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. 39 And after they had performed all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their city Nazareth. Then they began looking for him among their relatives and friends.
45 And not finding him, they returned into Jerusalem, seeking him. and when they did not find him, they returned to Jerusalem, searching for him. When they did not find him, they went back to Jerusalem to look for him.
46 And it came to pass, that, after three days, they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, hearing them, and asking them questions. 48 And seeing him, they wondered. And his mother said to him: Son, why hast thou done so to us? behold thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing. And when his parents saw him, they were astonished. And his mother said to him, “Son, why have you treated us so? Behold, your father and I have been searching for you in great distress.” When his parents saw him, they were astonished. His mother said to him, “Son, why have you treated us like this? Your father and I have been anxiously searching for you.”
49 And he said to them: How is it that you sought me? did you not know, that I must be about my father's business? And he said to them, “Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?” “Why were you searching for me?” he asked. “Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?”
50 And they understood not the word that he spoke unto them. And they did not understand the saying that he spoke to them. But they did not understand what he was saying to them.
51 And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject to them. And his mother kept all these words in her heart. And he went down with them and came to Nazareth and was submissive to them. And his mother treasured up all these things in her heart. Then he went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. But his mother treasured all these things in her heart.
52 And Jesus advanced in wisdom, and age, and grace with God and men. And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man. And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.
