| 3concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh, | 3concerning His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who was a descendant of David according to the flesh |

| 21because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. | 21For though they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God or show gratitude. Instead, their thinking became nonsense, and their senseless minds were darkened. |
| 22Professing to be wise, they became fools, | 22Claiming to be wise, they became fools |
