Good News Translation
The LORD will cause the emperor to hear a rumor that will make him go back to his own country, and the LORD will have him killed there."

I myself will put a spirit in him, so that he shall hear a rumor and return to his own land; I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.’”

Contemporary English Version
I will upset him with rumors about what's happening in his own country. He will go back, and there I will make him die a violent death.
