Come Quickly to Me
(Psalm 70:1–5)

מִזְמ֗וֹר (A Psalm) לְדָ֫וִ֥ד (of David).

1יְהוָ֣ה (O YHWH), קְ֭רָאתִיךָ (I call to You). ח֣וּשָׁה (Hurry) לִּ֑י (to me);

הַאֲזִ֥ינָה (give ear to) ק֝וֹלִ֗י (my voice) בְּקָרְאִי־ (in my calling out) לָֽךְ׃ (to You).

2  תִּכּ֤וֹן (Let be established) תְּפִלָּתִ֣י (my prayer) קְטֹ֣רֶת (like incense) לְפָנֶ֑יךָ (before Your face),

מַֽשְׂאַ֥ת (and the lifting) כַּ֝פַּ֗י (of my hands) מִנְחַת־ (like the offering) עָֽרֶב׃ (of the evening).

3  שִׁיתָ֣ה (Set), יְ֭הוָה (O YHWH), שָׁמְרָ֣ה (a guard) לְפִ֑י (for my mouth);

נִ֝צְּרָ֗ה (keep watch) עַל־ (over) דַּ֥ל (the door) שְׂפָתָֽי׃ (of my lips).

4  אַל־ (Do not) תַּט־ (make bend) לִבִּ֨י (my heart) לְדָבָ֪ר׀ (thing) רָ֡ע (to an evil)

לְהִתְע֘וֹלֵ֤ל (to do) עֲלִל֨וֹת׀ (works) בְּרֶ֗שַׁע (in wickedness)

אֶת־ (with) אִישִׁ֥ים (men) פֹּֽעֲלֵי־ (working) אָ֑וֶן (iniquity),

וּבַל־ (and never) אֶ֝לְחַ֗ם (shall I eat) בְּמַנְעַמֵּיהֶֽם׃ (of their delicacies).

5  יֶֽהֶלְמֵֽנִי־ (Let strike me) צַדִּ֨יק׀ (let a righteous one)

חֶ֡סֶד (in loving devotion) וְֽיוֹכִיחֵ֗נִי (and let him even rebuke me);

שֶׁ֣מֶן (it is oil) רֹ֭אשׁ (for my head) אַל־ (do not) יָנִ֣י (let refuse it) רֹאשִׁ֑י (my head),

כִּי־ (for) ע֥וֹד (still) וּ֝תְפִלָּתִ֗י (my prayer is) בְּרָעוֹתֵיהֶֽם׃ (against their evil deeds).

6  נִשְׁמְט֣וּ (Let be released) בִֽידֵי־ (into the hands) סֶ֭לַע (of the rock) שֹׁפְטֵיהֶ֑ם (their judges),

וְשָׁמְע֥וּ (and let them hear) אֲ֝מָרַ֗י (my words),

כִּ֣י (for) נָעֵֽמוּ׃ (they are pleasant).

7  כְּמ֤וֹ (Like) פֹלֵ֣חַ (the tilling) וּבֹקֵ֣עַ (and ripping up) בָּאָ֑רֶץ (of the land)

נִפְזְר֥וּ (are scattered) עֲ֝צָמֵ֗ינוּ (our bones) לְפִ֣י (at the mouth) שְׁאֽוֹל׃ (of Sheol).

8  כִּ֤י (Yet) אֵלֶ֨יךָ׀ (unto You), יְהֹוִ֣ה (O YHWH)

אֲדֹנָ֣י (O Lord), עֵינָ֑י (are my eyes).

בְּכָ֥ה (In You) חָ֝סִ֗יתִי (I take refuge);

אַל־ (do not) תְּעַ֥ר (lay bare) נַפְשִֽׁי׃ (my soul).

9  שָׁמְרֵ֗נִי (Keep me) מִ֣ידֵי (from) פַ֭ח (the snares) יָ֣קְשׁוּ (they have laid) לִ֑י (for me)

וּ֝מֹקְשׁ֗וֹת (and from the lures) פֹּ֣עֲלֵי (of the workers) אָֽוֶן׃ (of iniquity).

10  יִפְּל֣וּ (Let fall) בְמַכְמֹרָ֣יו (into their nets) רְשָׁעִ֑ים (the wicked) יַ֥חַד (together);

אָ֝נֹכִ֗י (I) עַֽד־ (until) אֶעֱבֽוֹר׃ (pass over).
