וָאֹמַ֕ר אָ֖נָה אַתָּ֣ה הֹלֵ֑ךְ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלַ֗י לָמֹד֙ אֶת־ יְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם לִרְא֥וֹת כַּמָּֽה־ רָחְבָּ֖הּ וְכַמָּ֥ה אָרְכָּֽהּ׃ | Then I said, “Where are you going?” And he said to me, “To measure Jerusalem, to see what is its width and what is its length.” | I asked, “Where are you going?” He answered me, “To measure Jerusalem, to find out how wide and how long it is.” |
וְהִנֵּ֗ה הַמַּלְאָ֛ךְ הַדֹּבֵ֥ר בִּ֖י יֹצֵ֑א וּמַלְאָ֣ךְ אַחֵ֔ר יֹצֵ֖א לִקְרָאתֽוֹ׃ | And behold, the angel who talked with me came forward, and another angel came forward to meet him | While the angel who was speaking to me was leaving, another angel came to meet him |
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלָ֔ו רֻ֗ץ דַּבֵּ֛ר אֶל־ הַנַּ֥עַר הַלָּ֖ז לֵאמֹ֑ר פְּרָזוֹת֙ תֵּשֵׁ֣ב יְרוּשָׁלִַ֔ם מֵרֹ֥ב אָדָ֛ם וּבְהֵמָ֖ה בְּתוֹכָֽהּ׃ | and said to him, “Run, say to that young man, ‘Jerusalem shall be inhabited as villages without walls, because of the multitude of people and livestock in it. | and said to him: “Run, tell that young man, ‘Jerusalem will be a city without walls because of the great number of people and animals in it. |
וַאֲנִ֤י אֶֽהְיֶה־ לָּהּ֙ נְאֻם־ יְהוָ֔ה ח֥וֹמַת אֵ֖שׁ סָבִ֑יב וּלְכָב֖וֹד אֶֽהְיֶ֥ה בְתוֹכָֽהּ׃ פ | And I will be to her a wall of fire all around, declares the LORD, and I will be the glory in her midst.’” | And I myself will be a wall of fire around it,’ declares the LORD, ‘and I will be its glory within.’ |
Up! Flee from the land of the north, declares the LORD. For I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heavens, declares the LORD. | “Come! Come! Flee from the land of the north,” declares the LORD, “for I have scattered you to the four winds of heaven,” declares the LORD. |
ה֥וֹי צִיּ֖וֹן הִמָּלְטִ֑י יוֹשֶׁ֖בֶת בַּת־ בָּבֶֽל׃ ס | Up! Escape to Zion, you who dwell with the daughter of Babylon. | “Come, Zion! Escape, you who live in Daughter Babylon!” |
כִּ֣י כֹ֣ה אָמַר֮ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָאוֹת֒ אַחַ֣ר כָּב֔וֹד שְׁלָחַ֕נִי אֶל־ הַגּוֹיִ֖ם הַשֹּׁלְלִ֣ים אֶתְכֶ֑ם כִּ֚י הַנֹּגֵ֣עַ בָּכֶ֔ם נֹגֵ֖עַ בְּבָבַ֥ת עֵינֽוֹ׃ | For thus said the LORD of hosts, after his glory sent me to the nations who plundered you, for he who touches you touches the apple of his eye: | For this is what the LORD Almighty says: “After the Glorious One has sent me against the nations that have plundered you—for whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye— |
כִּ֠י הִנְנִ֨י מֵנִ֤יף אֶת־ יָדִי֙ עֲלֵיהֶ֔ם וְהָי֥וּ שָׁלָ֖ל לְעַבְדֵיהֶ֑ם וִֽידַעְתֶּ֕ם כִּֽי־ יְהוָ֥ה צְבָא֖וֹת שְׁלָחָֽנִי׃ ס | “Behold, I will shake my hand over them, and they shall become plunder for those who served them. Then you will know that the LORD of hosts has sent me. | I will surely raise my hand against them so that their slaves will plunder them. Then you will know that the LORD Almighty has sent me. |
| 10 | רָנִּ֥י וְשִׂמְחִ֖י בַּת־ צִיּ֑וֹן כִּ֧י הִנְנִי־ בָ֛א וְשָׁכַנְתִּ֥י בְתוֹכֵ֖ךְ נְאֻם־ יְהוָֽה׃ | Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion, for behold, I come and I will dwell in your midst, declares the LORD. | “Shout and be glad, Daughter Zion.
