1	As He was leaving the Temple, one of His disciples exclaimed, "Look, Rabbi, what wonderful stones! what wonderful buildings!"	And as he came out of the temple, one of his disciples said to him, “Look, Teacher, what wonderful stones and what wonderful buildings!”	As Jesus was leaving the temple, one of his disciples said to him, “Look, Teacher! What massive stones! What magnificent buildings!”
2	"You see all these great buildings?" Jesus replied; "not one stone will be left here upon another--not thrown down."	And Jesus said to him, “Do you see these great buildings? There will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down.”	“Do you see all these great buildings?” replied Jesus. “Not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.”

5	So Jesus began to say to them: "Take care that no one misleads you.	And Jesus began to say to them, “See that no one leads you astray.	Jesus said to them: “Watch out that no one deceives you.
6	Many will come assuming my name and saying, 'I am He;' and they will mislead many.	Many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he!’ and they will lead many astray.	Many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am he,’ and will deceive many.
7	But when you hear of wars and rumours of wars, do not be alarmed: come they must, but the End is not yet.	And when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. This must take place, but the end is not yet.	When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.
8	For nation will rise in arms against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places; there will be famines. These miseries are but like the early pains of childbirth.	For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places; there will be famines. 9	"You yourselves must be on your guard. They will deliver you up to Sanhedrins; you will be brought into synagogues and cruelly beaten; and you will stand before governors and kings for my sake, to be witnesses to them for me.	“But be on your guard. For they will deliver you over to councils, and you will be beaten in synagogues, and you will stand before governors and kings for my sake, to bear witness before them.	“You must be on your guard. You will be handed over to the local councils and flogged in the synagogues. On account of me you will stand before governors and kings as witnesses to them.
10	But the proclamation of the Good News must be carried to all the Gentiles before the End comes.	And the gospel must first be proclaimed to all nations.	And the gospel must first be preached to all nations.
11	When however they are marching you along under arrest, do not be anxious beforehand about what you are to say, but speak what is given you when the time comes; for it will not be you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.	And when they bring you to trial and deliver you over, do not be anxious beforehand what you are to say, but say whatever is given you in that hour, for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.	Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit.
12	"Brother will betray brother to be killed, and fathers will betray children; and children will rise against their parents and have them put to death.	And brother will deliver brother over to death, and the father his child, and children will rise against parents and have them put to death.	“Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child. Children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death.
13	You will be objects of universal hatred because you are called by my name, but those who stand firm to the End will be saved.	And you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.	Everyone will hate you because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.
14	"As soon, however, as you see the Abomination of Desolation standing where he ought not" --let the reader observe these words--"then let those in Judaea escape to the hills;	“But when you see the abomination of desolation standing where he ought not to be (let the reader understand), then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.	“When you see ‘the abomination that causes desolation’ standing where it does not belong—let the reader understand—then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.
15	let him who is on the roof not come down and enter the house to fetch anything out of it;	Let the one who is on the housetop not go down, nor enter his house, to take anything out,	Let no one on the housetop go down or enter the house to take anything out.
16	and let not him who is in the field turn back to pick up his outer garment.	and let the one who is in the field not turn back to take his cloak.	Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak.
17	And alas for the women who at that time are with child or have infants!	And alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days!	How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers!
18	"But pray that it may not come in the winter.	Pray that it may not happen in winter.	Pray that this will not take place in winter,
19	For those will be times of suffering the like of which has never been from the first creation of God's world until now, and assuredly never will be again;	For in those days there will be such tribulation as has not been from the beginning of the creation that God created until now, and never will be.	because those will be days of distress unequaled from the beginning, when God created the world, until now—and never to be equaled again.
20	and but for the fact that the Lord has cut short those days, no one would escape; but for the sake of His own People whom He has chosen for Himself He has cut short the days.	And if the Lord had not cut short the days, no human being would be saved. But for the sake of the elect, whom he chose, he shortened the days.	“If the Lord had not cut short those days, no one would survive. But for the sake of the elect, whom he has chosen, he has shortened them.
21	"At that time if any one says to you, 'See, here is the Christ!' or 'See, He is there!' do not believe it.	And then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘Look, there he is!’ do not believe it.	At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘Look, there he is!’ do not believe it.
22	For there will rise up false Christs and false prophets, displaying signs and prodigies with a view to lead astray--if indeed that were possible--even God's own People.	For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform signs and wonders, to lead astray, if possible, the elect.	For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.
23	But as for yourselves, be on your guard: I have forewarned you of everything.	But be on guard; I have told you all things beforehand.	So be on your guard; I have told you everything ahead of time.
24	"At that time, however, after that distress, the sun will be darkened and the moon will not shed her light;	“But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light,	“But in those days, following that distress, “’the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light;
25	the stars will be seen falling from the firmament, and the forces which are in the heavens will be disordered and disturbed.	and the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.	the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’
26	And then will they see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.	And then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.	“At that time people will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.
27	Then He will send forth the angels and gather together His chosen People from north, south, east and west, from the remotest parts of the earth and the sky. 28	"Learn from the fig-tree the lesson it teaches. As soon as its branch has become soft and it is bursting into leaf, you know that summer is near.	“From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near.	“Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near.
29	So also do you, when you see these things happening, be sure that He is near, at your very door.	So also, when you see these things taking place, you know that he is near, at the very gates.	Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that it is near, right at the door.
30	I tell you in solemn truth that the present generation will certainly not pass away without all these things having first taken place.	Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.	Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.
31	Earth and sky will pass away, but it is certain that my words will not pass away.	Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.	Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
32	"But as to that day or the exact time no one knows--not even the angels in Heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.	“But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.	“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
33	Take care, be on the alert, and pray; for you do not know when it will happen.	Be on guard, keep awake. For you do not know when the time will come.	Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come.
34	It is like a man living abroad who has left his house, and given the management to his servants--to each one his special duty--and has ordered the porter to keep awake.	It is like a man going on a journey, when he leaves home and puts his servants in charge, each with his work, and commands the doorkeeper to stay awake.	It’s like a man going away: He leaves his house and puts his servants in charge, each with their assigned task, and tells the one at the door to keep watch.
35	Be wakeful therefore, for you know not when the master of the house is coming--in the evening, at midnight, at cock-crow, or at dawn.	Therefore stay awake—for you do not know when the master of the house will come, in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning—	“Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back—whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn.
36	Beware lest He should arrive unexpectedly and find you asleep.	lest he come suddenly and find you asleep.	If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping.
37	Moreover, what I say to you I say to all--Be wakeful!"	And what I say to you I say to all: Stay awake.”	What I say to you, I say to everyone: ‘Watch!’”
