1 He said to the disciples, “It is impossible that no occasions of stumbling should come, but woe to him through whom they come! And he said to his disciples, “Temptations to sin are sure to come, but woe to the one through whom they come! Jesus said to his disciples: “Things that cause people to stumble are bound to come, but woe to anyone through whom they come.
2 It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, rather than that he should cause one of these little ones to stumble. It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were cast into the sea than that he should cause one of these little ones to sin. It would be better for them to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around their neck than to cause one of these little ones to stumble.
3 Be careful. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him. If he repents, forgive him. Pay attention to yourselves! If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him, So watch yourselves. “If your brother or sister sins against you, rebuke them; and if they repent, forgive them.
4 If he sins against you seven times in the day, and seven times returns, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him.” and if he sins against you seven times in the day, and turns to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him.” Even if they sin against you seven times in a day and seven times come back to you saying ‘I repent,’ you must forgive them.”

6 The Lord said, “If you had faith like a grain of mustard seed, you would tell this sycamore tree, ‘Be uprooted and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you. 7 But who is there among you, having a servant plowing or keeping sheep, that will say when he comes in from the field, ‘Come immediately and sit down at the table’? “Will any one of you who has a servant plowing or keeping sheep say to him when he has come in from the field, ‘Come at once and recline at table’? “Suppose one of you has a servant plowing or looking after the sheep. Will he say to the servant when he comes in from the field, ‘Come along now and sit down to eat’?
8 Wouldn’t he rather tell him, ‘Prepare my supper, clothe yourself properly, and serve me while I eat and drink. Afterward you shall eat and drink’? Will he not rather say to him, ‘Prepare supper for me, and dress properly, and serve me while I eat and drink, and afterward you will eat and drink’? Won’t he rather say, ‘Prepare my supper, get yourself ready and wait on me while I eat and drink; after that you may eat and drink’?
9 Does he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded? I think not. Does he thank the servant because he did what was commanded? Will he thank the servant because he did what he was told to do?
10 Even so you also, when you have done all the things that are commanded you, say, ‘We are unworthy servants. We have done our duty.’” So you also, when you have done all that you were commanded, say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done what was our duty.’” So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.’”

22 He said to the disciples, “The days will come when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it. For the Son of Man in his day will be like the lightning, which flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other.

31 In that day, he who will be on the housetop and his goods in the house, let him not go down to take them away. Let him who is in the field likewise not turn back. On that day, let the one who is on the housetop, with his goods in the house, not come down to take them away, and likewise let the one who is in the field not turn back. On that day no one who is on the housetop, with possessions inside, should go down to get them. Likewise, no one in the field should go back for anything.

33 Whoever seeks to save his life loses it, but whoever loses his life preserves it. Whoever seeks to preserve his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life will keep it. Whoever tries to keep their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life will preserve it.
34 I tell you, in that night there will be two people in one bed. One will be taken and the other will be left. I tell you, in that night there will be two in one bed. 37 They, answering, asked him, “Where, Lord?” He said to them, “Where the body is, there the vultures will also be gathered together.” And they said to him, “Where, Lord?” He said to them, “Where the corpse is, there the vultures will gather.” “Where, Lord?” they asked. He replied, “Where there is a dead body, there the vultures will gather.”
