5	He said, “Who are you, sir?” The reply came, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.	And he said, “Who are you, Lord?” And he said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.	“Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked. “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” he replied.
6	Now get up and go into the city and you will be told what you must do.”	But rise and enter the city, and you will be told what you are to do.”	“Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”

8	Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes he could see nothing; so they led him by the hand and brought him to Damascus. 11	The Lord said to him, “Get up and go to the street called Straight and ask at the house of Judas for a man from Tarsus named Saul. He is there praying,	And the Lord said to him, “Rise and go to the street called Straight, and at the house of Judas look for a man of Tarsus named Saul, for behold, he is praying,	The Lord told him, “Go to the house of Judas on Straight Street and ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul, for he is praying.
12	and [in a vision] he has seen a man named Ananias come in and lay [his] hands on him, that he may regain his sight.”	and he has seen in a vision a man named Ananias come in and lay his hands on him so that he might regain his sight.”	In a vision he has seen a man named Ananias come and place his hands on him to restore his sight.”
13	But Ananias replied, “Lord, I have heard from many sources about this man, what evil things he has done to your holy ones in Jerusalem.	But Ananias answered, “Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much evil he has done to your saints at Jerusalem.	“Lord,” Ananias answered, “I have heard many reports about this man and all the harm he has done to your holy people in Jerusalem.
14	And here he has authority from the chief priests to imprison all who call upon your name.”	And here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on your name.”	And he has come here with authority from the chief priests to arrest all who call on your name.”
15	But the Lord said to him, “Go, for this man is a chosen instrument of mine to carry my name before Gentiles, kings, and Israelites,	But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen instrument of mine to carry my name before the Gentiles and kings and the children of Israel.	But the Lord said to Ananias, “Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel.

17	So Ananias went and entered the house; laying his hands on him, he said, “Saul, my brother, the Lord has sent me, Jesus who appeared to you on the way by which you came, that you may regain your sight and be filled with the holy Spirit.”	So Ananias departed and entered the house. And laying his hands on him he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus who appeared to you on the road by which you came has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”	Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on Saul, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord—Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here—has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”
18	Immediately things like scales fell from his eyes and he regained his sight. He got up and was baptized,	And immediately something like scales fell from his eyes, and he regained his sight. 19	and when he had eaten, he recovered his strength. He stayed some days with the disciples in Damascus,	and taking food, he was strengthened. 20	and he began at once to proclaim Jesus in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.	And immediately he proclaimed Jesus in the synagogues, saying, “He is the Son of God.”	At once he began to preach in the synagogues that Jesus is the Son of God.
21	All who heard him were astounded and said, “Is not this the man who in Jerusalem ravaged those who call upon this name, and came here expressly to take them back in chains to the chief priests?”	And all who heard him were amazed and said, “Is not this the man who made havoc in Jerusalem of those who called upon this name? And has he not come here for this purpose, to bring them bound before the chief priests?”	All those who heard him were astonished and asked, “Isn’t he the man who raised havoc in Jerusalem among those who call on this name? And hasn’t he come here to take them as prisoners to the chief priests?”
22	But Saul grew all the stronger and confounded [the] Jews who lived in Damascus, proving that this is the Messiah.	But Saul increased all the more in strength, and confounded the Jews who lived in Damascus by proving that Jesus was the Christ.	Yet Saul grew more and more powerful and baffled the Jews living in Damascus by proving that Jesus is the Messiah.
23	After a long time had passed, the Jews conspired to kill him,	When many days had passed, the Jews plotted to kill him,	After many days had gone by, there was a conspiracy among the Jews to kill him,
24	but their plot became known to Saul. Now they were keeping watch on the gates day and night so as to kill him,	but their plot became known to Saul. 29	He also spoke and debated with the Hellenists, but they tried to kill him.	And he spoke and disputed against the Hellenists. But they were seeking to kill him.	He talked and debated with the Hellenistic Jews, but they tried to kill him.
30	And when the brothers learned of this, they took him down to Caesarea and sent him on his way to Tarsus.	And when the brothers learned this, they brought him down to Caesarea and sent him off to Tarsus.	When the believers learned of this, they took him down to Caesarea and sent him off to Tarsus.
31	The church throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria was at peace. It was being built up and walked in the fear of the Lord, and with the consolation of the holy Spirit it grew in numbers. 32	As Peter was passing through every region, he went down to the holy ones living in Lydda.	Now as Peter went here and there among them all, he came down also to the saints who lived at Lydda.	As Peter traveled about the country, he went to visit the Lord’s people who lived in Lydda.
33	There he found a man named Aeneas, who had been confined to bed for eight years, for he was paralyzed.	There he found a man named Aeneas, bedridden for eight years, who was paralyzed.	There he found a man named Aeneas, who was paralyzed and had been bedridden for eight years.
34	Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you. Get up and make your bed.” He got up at once.	And Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you; rise and make your bed.” And immediately he rose.	“Aeneas,” Peter said to him, “Jesus Christ heals you. Get up and roll up your mat.” Immediately Aeneas got up.
35	And all the inhabitants of Lydda and Sharon saw him, and they turned to the Lord.	And all the residents of Lydda and Sharon saw him, and they turned to the Lord.	All those who lived in Lydda and Sharon saw him and turned to the Lord.
36	Now in Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (which translated means Dorcas). She was completely occupied with good deeds and almsgiving.	Now there was in Joppa a disciple named Tabitha, which, translated, means Dorcas. She was full of good works and acts of charity.	In Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (in Greek her name is Dorcas); she was always doing good and helping the poor.
37	Now during those days she fell sick and died, so after washing her, they laid [her] out in a room upstairs.	In those days she became ill and died, and when they had washed her, they laid her in an upper room.	About that time she became sick and died, and her body was washed and placed in an upstairs room.
38	Since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, hearing that Peter was there, sent two men to him with the request, “Please come to us without delay.”	Since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, hearing that Peter was there, sent two men to him, urging him, “Please come to us without delay.”	Lydda was near Joppa; so when the disciples heard that Peter was in Lydda, they sent two men to him and urged him, “Please come at once!”
39	So Peter got up and went with them. When he arrived, they took him to the room upstairs where all the widows came to him weeping and showing him the tunics and cloaks that Dorcas had made while she was with them.	So Peter rose and went with them. And when he arrived, they took him to the upper room. All the widows stood beside him weeping and showing tunics and other garments that Dorcas made while she was with them.	Peter went with them, and when he arrived he was taken upstairs to the room. All the widows stood around him, crying and showing him the robes and other clothing that Dorcas had made while she was still with them.
40	Peter sent them all out and knelt down and prayed. Then he turned to her body and said, “Tabitha, rise up.” She opened her eyes, saw Peter, and sat up.	But Peter put them all outside, and knelt down and prayed; and turning to the body he said, “Tabitha, arise.” And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter she sat up.	Peter sent them all out of the room; then he got down on his knees and prayed. Turning toward the dead woman, he said, “Tabitha, get up.” She opened her eyes, and seeing Peter she sat up.
41	He gave her his hand and raised her up, and when he had called the holy ones and the widows, he presented her alive.	And he gave her his hand and raised her up. Then, calling the saints and widows, he presented her alive.	He took her by the hand and helped her to her feet. Then he called for the believers, especially the widows, and presented her to them alive.
42	This became known all over Joppa, and many came to believe in the Lord.	And it became known throughout all Joppa, and many believed in the Lord.	This became known all over Joppa, and many people believed in the Lord.
43	And he stayed a long time in Joppa with Simon, a tanner.	And he stayed in Joppa for many days with one Simon, a tanner.	Peter stayed in Joppa for some time with a tanner named Simon.
