1 And so they took the ark of God, and they set it in the midst of the tabernacle, which David had pitched for it. And they offered holocausts and peace offerings before God. And they brought in the ark of God and set it inside the tent that David had pitched for it, and they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before God. 4 And he appointed some from the Levites who would minister before the ark of the Lord, and commemorate his works, and glorify and praise the Lord, the God of Israel. 7 In that day, David made Asaph the leader, in order to confess to the Lord with his brothers: Then on that day David first appointed that thanksgiving be sung to the LORD by Asaph and his brothers. That day David first appointed Asaph and his associates to give praise to the LORD in this manner:
8 “Confess to the Lord, and invoke his name. Make known his endeavors among the peoples. Oh give thanks to the LORD; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples! Give praise to the LORD, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done.
9 Sing to him, and sing psalms to him, and describe all his miracles. Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works! Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts.
10 Praise his holy name! Let the heart of those who seek the Lord rejoice! Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice! Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice.
11 Seek the Lord and his virtue. Seek his face always. Seek the LORD and his strength; seek his presence continually! Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.
12 Remember his miracles, which he has accomplished, his signs, and the judgments of his mouth. Remember the wondrous works that he has done, his miracles and the judgments he uttered, Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced,
13 O offspring of Israel, his servants! O sons of Jacob, his elect! O offspring of Israel his servant, children of Jacob, his chosen ones! you his servants, the descendants of Israel, his chosen ones, the children of Jacob.
14 He is the Lord our God. His judgments are throughout all the earth. He is the LORD our God; his judgments are in all the earth. He is the LORD our God; his judgments are in all the earth.
15 Remember forever his covenant, the word that he instructed unto a thousand generations, Remember his covenant forever, the word that he commanded, for a thousand generations, He remembers his covenant forever, the promise he made, for a thousand generations,
16 the covenant that he formed with Abraham, and his oath with Isaac. the covenant that he made with Abraham, his sworn promise to Isaac, the covenant he made with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac.
17 And he appointed the same to Jacob as a precept, and to Israel as an everlasting pact, which he confirmed to Jacob as a statute, to Israel as an everlasting covenant, He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as an everlasting covenant:
18 saying: ‘To you, I will give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance.’ saying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan, as your portion for an inheritance.” “To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion you will inherit.”
19 At that time, they were small in number, they were few and were settlers there. When you were few in number, of little account, and sojourners in it, When they were but few in number, few indeed, and strangers in it,
20 And they passed through, from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people. wandering from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another people, they wandered from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another.
21 He did not permit anyone to falsely accuse them. Instead, he reproved kings on their behalf: he allowed no one to oppress them; he rebuked kings on their account, He allowed no one to oppress them; for their sake he rebuked kings:
22 ‘Do not touch my Christ. And do not malign my prophets.’ saying, “Touch not my anointed ones, do my prophets no harm!” “Do not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm.”
23 Sing to the Lord, all the earth! Announce his salvation, from day to day. Sing to the LORD, all the earth! Tell of his salvation from day to day. Sing to the LORD, all the earth; proclaim his salvation day after day.
24 Describe his glory among the Gentiles, his miracles among all the peoples. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples! Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.
25 For the Lord is great and exceedingly praiseworthy. And he is terrible, above all gods. For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised, and he is to be feared above all gods. For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods.
26 For all the gods of the peoples are idols. But the Lord made the heavens. For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols, but the LORD made the heavens. For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the LORD made the heavens.
27 Confession and magnificence are before him. Strength and gladness are in his place. Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and joy are in his place. Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and joy are in his dwelling place.
28 Bring to the Lord, O families of the peoples, bring to the Lord glory and dominion. Ascribe to the LORD, O families of the peoples, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength! Ascribe to the LORD, all you families of nations, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.
29 Give glory to the Lord, to his name. Lift up sacrifice, and approach before his sight. And adore the Lord in holy attire. Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; bring an offering and come before him! Worship the LORD in the splendor of holiness; Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; bring an offering and come before him. Worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness.
30 Let all the earth be moved before his face. For he founded the globe immoveable. tremble before him, all the earth; yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved. Tremble before him, all the earth! The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved.
31 Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth exult. And let them say among the nations, ‘The Lord has reigned.’ Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice, and let them say among the nations, “The LORD reigns!” Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let them say among the nations, “The LORD reigns!”
32 Let the sea roar, with all its plenitude. Let the fields exult, with all that is in them. Let the sea roar, and all that fills it; let the field exult, and everything in it! Let the sea resound, and all that is in it; let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them!
33 Then the trees of the forest will give praise before the Lord. For he comes to judge the earth. Then shall the trees of the forest sing for joy before the LORD, for he comes to judge the earth. Let the trees of the forest sing, let them sing for joy before the LORD, for he comes to judge the earth.
34 Confess to the Lord, for he is good. For his mercy is eternal. Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever! Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.
35 And say: ‘Save us, O God our savior! And gather us together, and rescue us from the nations, so that we may confess to your holy name, and may exult in your songs. Say also: “Save us, O God of our salvation, and gather and deliver us from among the nations, that we may give thanks to your holy name and glory in your praise. Cry out, “Save us, God our Savior; gather us and deliver us from the nations, that we may give thanks to your holy name, and glory in your praise.”
36 Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, from eternity to eternity.’ And let all the people say, ‘Amen,’ and let them sing a hymn to the Lord.” Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting!” Then all the people said, “Amen!” and praised the LORD. Praise be to the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Then all the people said “Amen” and “Praise the LORD.”
37 And so, there before the ark of the covenant of the Lord, he left Asaph and his brothers, so that they might minister in the sight of the ark continually, throughout each day, and in their turns. So David left Asaph and his brothers there before the ark of the covenant of the LORD to minister regularly before the ark as each day required, David left Asaph and his associates before the ark of the covenant of the LORD to minister there regularly, according to each day’s requirements.
38 Now Obededom and his brothers were sixty-eight. And he appointed Obededom, the son of Jeduthun, and Hosah to be porters. and also Obed-edom and his sixty-eight brothers, while Obed-edom, the son of Jeduthun, and Hosah were to be gatekeepers. He also left Obed-Edom and his sixty-eight associates to minister with them. Obed-Edom son of Jeduthun, and also Hosah, were gatekeepers.
39 But Zadok the priest, and his brothers the priests, were before the tabernacle of the Lord in the high place, which was in Gibeon, And he left Zadok the priest and his brothers the priests before the tabernacle of the LORD in the high place that was at Gibeon David left Zadok the priest and his fellow priests before the tabernacle of the LORD at the high place in Gibeon

41 And after him, Heman, and Jeduthun, and the remainder of the elect, each one by his name, were appointed to confess to the Lord: “For his mercy endures forever.” With them were Heman and Jeduthun and the rest of those chosen and expressly named to give thanks to the LORD, for his steadfast love endures forever. 42 Also Heman and Jeduthun sounded the trumpet, and they played upon the cymbals, and upon every kind of musical instrument, in order to sing praises to God. But the sons of Jeduthun he made to be porters. Heman and Jeduthun had trumpets and cymbals for the music and instruments for sacred song. The sons of Jeduthun were appointed to the gate. Heman and Jeduthun were responsible for the sounding of the trumpets and cymbals and for the playing of the other instruments for sacred song. The sons of Jeduthun were stationed at the gate.
43 And all the people returned to their houses, and David also, so that he might bless his own house too. Then all the people departed each to his house, and David went home to bless his household. Then all the people left, each for their own home, and David returned home to bless his family.
