1 So they brought in the arke of God, and set it in the middest of the tent that Dauid pitched for it: And they offered burnt sacrifices and peace offringes before God. And they brought in the ark of God and set it inside the tent that David had pitched for it, and they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before God. 2 And when Dauid had made an end of offring the burnt offringes and peace offringes, he blessed the people in the name of the Lorde. 3 And he dealt to all Israel both man and woman, a cracknel of bread, and a good peece of fleshe, and a flacket of wine. and distributed to all Israel, both men and women, to each a loaf of bread, a portion of meat, and a cake of raisins. Then he gave a loaf of bread, a cake of dates and a cake of raisins to each Israelite man and woman.
4 And he appoynted certaine of the Leuites to minister before the arke of the Lord, and to repeate, and to thanke and prayse the Lorde God of Israel. Then he appointed some of the Levites as ministers before the ark of the LORD, to invoke, to thank, and to praise the LORD, the God of Israel. Asaph was the chief, and second to him were Zechariah, Jeiel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-edom, and Jeiel, who were to play harps and lyres; Asaph was to sound the cymbals, Asaph was the chief, and next to him in rank were Zechariah, then Jaaziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-Edom and Jeiel. They were to play the lyres and harps, Asaph was to sound the cymbals,
6 Banaia and Iahaziel priestes blewe with trumpettes continually before the arke of the couenaunt of God. and Benaiah and Jahaziel the priests were to blow trumpets regularly before the ark of the covenant of God. and Benaiah and Jahaziel the priests were to blow the trumpets regularly before the ark of the covenant of God.
7 And that same tyme Dauid did appoynt chiefely to thanke the Lorde by Asaph and his brethren. Then on that day David first appointed that thanksgiving be sung to the LORD by Asaph and his brothers. That day David first appointed Asaph and his associates to give praise to the LORD in this manner:
8 Confesse you it vnto God, call vpon his name: cause the people to vnderstande his deuises. Oh give thanks to the LORD; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples! Give praise to the LORD, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done.
9 Sing vnto him, sing psalmes vnto him: talke you of all his wonderous workes. Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works! Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts.
10 Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them reioyce that do seeke God. Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice! Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice.
11 Seeke God and his strength: seeke his face euermore. Seek the LORD and his strength; seek his presence continually! Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.
12 Remember the marueylous workes that he hath done: his wonders, and the iudgementes of his mouth, Remember the wondrous works that he has done, his miracles and the judgments he uttered, Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced,
13 O ye seede of Abraham his seruaunt, ye his chosen children of Iacob: O offspring of Israel his servant, children of Jacob, his chosen ones! you his servants, the descendants of Israel, his chosen ones, the children of Jacob.
14 (16:13) he is God our Lorde, his iudgementes are in all the earth. He is the LORD our God; his judgments are in all the earth. He is the LORD our God; his judgments are in all the earth.
15 (16:14) He hath ben mindfull alwayes of his couenaunt (for he promysed a word to a thousande generations:) Remember his covenant forever, the word that he commanded, for a thousand generations, He remembers his covenant forever, the promise he made, for a thousand generations,
16 (16:14) euen of his couenaunt that he made with Abraham, and of his othe vnto Isaac. the covenant that he made with Abraham, his sworn promise to Isaac, the covenant he made with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac.
17 (16:15) And he appoynted the same vnto Iacob for a law: and to Israel for an euerlasting couenaunt. which he confirmed to Jacob as a statute, to Israel as an everlasting covenant, He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as an everlasting covenant:
18 (16:16) Saying, vnto thee I wyll geue the lande of Chanaan: the lot of your inheritaunce. saying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan, as your portion for an inheritance.” “To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion you will inherit.”
19 (16:17) When they were a fewe men in number, and had ben straungers but a litle while in it: When you were few in number, of little account, and sojourners in it, When they were but few in number, few indeed, and strangers in it,
20 (16:17) and when they went from one nation to another, from one kingdome to another people, wandering from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another people, they wandered from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another.
21 (16:18) He suffred no man to do them wrong: yea he reproued euen kinges for their sakes. he allowed no one to oppress them; he rebuked kings on their account, He allowed no one to oppress them; for their sake he rebuked kings:
22 (16:19) Touche not myne annoynted: and triumph not ouer my prophetes. saying, “Touch not my anointed ones, do my prophets no harm!” “Do not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm.”
23 (16:20) Sing vnto the Lorde all the earth: and shewe from day to day his saluation. Sing to the LORD, all the earth! Tell of his salvation from day to day. Sing to the LORD, all the earth; proclaim his salvation day after day.
24 (16:21) Tell of his glory among the heathen: his wonderfull deedes among all natitions. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples! Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.
25 For great is the Lorde, and worthy to be praysed exceedingly: he is to be feared aboue all gods. For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised, and he is to be feared above all gods. For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods.
26 For all the gods of the people are but idoles: but the Lorde made heauen. For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols, but the LORD made the heavens. For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the LORD made the heavens.
27 Prayse and honour are in his presence: strength and gladnesse are in his place. Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and joy are in his place. Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and joy are in his dwelling place.
28 Asscribe vnto the Lord ye kinredes of people, Asscribe to the Lorde glorie and dominion. Ascribe to the LORD, O families of the peoples, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength! Ascribe to the LORD, all you families of nations, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.
29 Asscribe vnto the Lord the glorie due vnto his name, bring sacrifices, and come before him, and worship the Lord in his glorious sanctuarie. Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; bring an offering and come before him! Worship the LORD in the splendor of holiness; Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; bring an offering and come before him. Worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness.
30 Let all the earth feare him: surely the world shalbe stable and not moue. tremble before him, all the earth; yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved. Tremble before him, all the earth! The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved.
31 Let the heauens reioyce, and let the earth be glad, and let men tel among the nations that the Lorde is king. Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice, and let them say among the nations, “The LORD reigns!” Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let them say among the nations, “The LORD reigns!”
32 Let the sea rore & the fulnesse thereof: let the fieldes reioyce, & all that is therin. Let the sea roar, and all that fills it; let the field exult, and everything in it! Let the sea resound, and all that is in it; let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them!
33 Then shall the trees of the wood reioyce at the presence of the Lord, because he commeth to iudge the earth. Then shall the trees of the forest sing for joy before the LORD, for he comes to judge the earth. Let the trees of the forest sing, let them sing for joy before the LORD, for he comes to judge the earth.
34 O geue thankes vnto the Lorde, for he is good, for his mercie endureth euer: Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever! Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.
35 And say ye, saue vs O God our saluation, gather vs together, and deliuer vs from among the heathen, that we may geue thankes to thy holy name, and triumph in the prayse of thee. Say also: “Save us, O God of our salvation, and gather and deliver us from among the nations, that we may give thanks to your holy name and glory in your praise. Cry out, “Save us, God our Savior; gather us and deliver us from the nations, that we may give thanks to your holy name, and glory in your praise.”
36 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel for euer and euer: & let all people say Amen, and prayse the Lorde. Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting!” Then all the people said, “Amen!” and praised the LORD. Praise be to the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Then all the people said “Amen” and “Praise the LORD.”
37 And so he left there before the arke of the lordes couenaunt Asaph & his brethren, to minister before the arke continually, in such thinges as were to be done day by day. So David left Asaph and his brothers there before the ark of the covenant of the LORD to minister regularly before the ark as each day required, David left Asaph and his associates before the ark of the covenant of the LORD to minister there regularly, according to each day’s requirements.
38 And Obed Edom and his brethren, threescore and eyght, and Obed Edom the sonne of Ieduthun, and Hosa, were appoynted to be porters. and also Obed-edom and his sixty-eight brothers, while Obed-edom, the son of Jeduthun, and Hosah were to be gatekeepers. He also left Obed-Edom and his sixty-eight associates to minister with them. Obed-Edom son of Jeduthun, and also Hosah, were gatekeepers.
39 And Zadoc the priest & his brethren the priestes were before ye tabernacle of the lord, in the hie place that was at Gibeon, And he left Zadok the priest and his brothers the priests before the tabernacle of the LORD in the high place that was at Gibeon David left Zadok the priest and his fellow priests before the tabernacle of the LORD at the high place in Gibeon
40 To offer burnt offeringes vnto the Lorde vpon the burnt offering aulter perpetually, in the morning and euening, according to all that which is written in the lawe of the Lorde whiche he commaunded Israel. to offer burnt offerings to the LORD on the altar of burnt offering regularly morning and evening, to do all that is written in the Law of the LORD that he commanded Israel. to present burnt offerings to the LORD on the altar of burnt offering regularly, morning and evening, in accordance with everything written in the Law of the LORD, which he had given Israel.
41 And with them were Heman and Ieduthun, and other that were chosen, whose names were expressed to geue thankes to the Lorde, That his mercie lasteth euer. With them were Heman and Jeduthun and the rest of those chosen and expressly named to give thanks to the LORD, for his steadfast love endures forever. With them were Heman and Jeduthun and the rest of those chosen and designated by name to give thanks to the LORD, “for his love endures forever.”
42 And with them dyd Heman and Ieduthun sing with the trumpets and cymbales, making a sweete melodie with instrumentes of musicke & godly songues: And the sonnes of Ieduthun were porters. Heman and Jeduthun had trumpets and cymbals for the music and instruments for sacred song. The sons of Jeduthun were appointed to the gate. Heman and Jeduthun were responsible for the sounding of the trumpets and cymbals and for the playing of the other instruments for sacred song. The sons of Jeduthun were stationed at the gate.
43 And al the people departed euery man to his house, & Dauid returned to blesse his house. Then all the people departed each to his house, and David went home to bless his household. Then all the people left, each for their own home, and David returned home to bless his family.
