| 1Pay attention, heavens, and I will speak; listen, earth, to the words from my mouth. | 1Listen, O heavens, and I will speak; hear, O earth, the words of my mouth. |

| 15Then Jeshurun became fat and rebelled--you became fat, bloated, and gorged. | 27if I had not feared provocation from the enemy, or feared that these foes might misunderstand and say: 'Our own hand has prevailed; it wasn't the LORD who did all this.'" | 27But I fear the reaction of their enemies, for their adversaries would misunderstand and say, "Our power is great, and the LORD has not done all this!"' |
| 28Israel is a nation lacking sense with no understanding at all. | 28They are a nation devoid of wisdom, and there is no understanding among them. |

| 39See now that I alone am he; there is no God but me. I bring death and I give life; I wound and I heal. | 43Rejoice, you nations, concerning his people, for he will avenge the blood of his servants.
