Again, Job continued his discourse and said: . . .
2 Samuel 7:1
After the king had settled into his palace and the LORD had given him rest from all his enemies around him,
On the day that the LORD gives you rest from your pain and torment, and from the hard labor into which you were forced, . . .
The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, because he trusts in You.
The work of righteousness will be peace; the service of righteousness will be quiet confidence forever.
Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled; do not be afraid.
What then shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? . . .
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
when he hideth
Job 23:8, 9
If I go east, He is not there, and if I go west, I cannot find Him. . . .
How long, O LORD? Will You forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face from me?
Hide not Your face from me, nor turn away Your servant in anger. You have been my helper; do not leave me or forsake me, O God of my salvation.
O LORD, You favored me; You made my mountain stand strong. When You hid Your face, I was dismayed.
Answer me quickly, O LORD; my spirit fails. Do not hide Your face from me, or I will be like those who go down to the Pit.
who then can behold
What He tears down cannot be rebuilt; the man He imprisons cannot be released.
But He is unchangeable, and who can oppose Him? He does what He desires.
