Zion’s Salvation and New Name

1  לְמַ֤עַן (For the sake) צִיּוֹן֙ (of Zion) לֹ֣א (not) אֶחֱשֶׁ֔ה (will I be silent),

וּלְמַ֥עַן (and for the sake) יְרוּשָׁלִַ֖ם (of Jerusalem) לֹ֣א (not) אֶשְׁק֑וֹט (will I be quiet),

עַד־ (until) יֵצֵ֤א (goes forth) כַנֹּ֙גַהּ֙ (like the brightness), צִדְקָ֔הּ (her righteousness)

וִישׁוּעָתָ֖הּ (and her salvation) כְּלַפִּ֥יד (like a torch) יִבְעָֽר׃ (burns bright).

2  וְרָא֤וּ (And will see) גוֹיִם֙ (the nations) צִדְקֵ֔ךְ (your righteousness),

וְכָל־ (and all) מְלָכִ֖ים (the kings) כְּבוֹדֵ֑ךְ (your glory);

וְקֹ֤רָא (and will be called) לָךְ֙ (to you) שֵׁ֣ם (a name), חָדָ֔שׁ (new)

אֲשֶׁ֛ר (which) פִּ֥י (the mouth) יְהוָ֖ה (of YHWH) יִקֳּבֶֽנּוּ׃ (will designate).

3  וְהָיִ֛יתְ (And you will be) עֲטֶ֥רֶת (a crown) תִּפְאֶ֖רֶת (of glory) בְּיַד־ (in the hand) יְהוָ֑ה (of YHWH),

וּצְנוֹף (and a turban) מְלוּכָ֖ה (of kingship) בְּכַף־ (in the hand) אֱלֹהָֽיִךְ׃ (of your God).

4  לֹֽא־ (Not) יֵאָמֵר֩ (is it said) לָ֨ךְ (of you) ע֜וֹד (any longer) עֲזוּבָ֗ה (Azubah)

וּלְאַרְצֵךְ֙ (and of your land) לֹא־ (not) יֵאָמֵ֥ר (will it be said) עוֹד֙ (anymore) שְׁמָמָ֔ה (Shemamah);

כִּ֣י (but) לָ֗ךְ (for you) יִקָּרֵא֙ (will be called) חֶפְצִי־ (Hephzi-) בָ֔הּ (bah),

וּלְאַרְצֵ֖ךְ (and to your land) בְּעוּלָ֑ה (Beulah);

כִּֽי־ (for) חָפֵ֤ץ (delights) יְהוָה֙ (YHWH) בָּ֔ךְ (in you)

וְאַרְצֵ֖ךְ (and your land) תִּבָּעֵֽל׃ (will be married).

5  כִּֽי־ (For as) יִבְעַ֤ל (marries) בָּחוּר֙ (a young man) בְּתוּלָ֔ה (a virgin),

יִבְעָל֖וּךְ (will marry you) בָּנָ֑יִךְ (your sons)

וּמְשׂ֤וֹשׂ (and as rejoices) חָתָן֙ (the bridegroom) עַל־ (over) כַּלָּ֔ה (the bride),

יָשִׂ֥ישׂ (will rejoice) עָלַ֖יִךְ (over you) אֱלֹהָֽיִךְ׃ (your God).

6  עַל־ (Upon) חוֹמֹתַ֣יִךְ (your walls), יְרוּשָׁלִַ֗ם (O Jerusalem), הִפְקַ֙דְתִּי֙ (I have appointed) שֹֽׁמְרִ֔ים (watchmen)

כָּל־ (all) הַיּ֧וֹם (the day) וְכָל־ (and all) הַלַּ֛יְלָה (the night); תָּמִ֖יד (continually) לֹ֣א (not) יֶחֱשׁ֑וּ (will they be silent)

הַמַּזְכִּרִים֙ (You⁺ who remember) אֶת־ (-) יְהוָ֔ה (YHWH),

אַל־ (no) דֳּמִ֖י (rest), לָכֶֽם׃ (is unto you⁺).

7  וְאַֽל־ (And not) תִּתְּנ֥וּ (will you⁺ give) דֳמִ֖י (rest), ל֑וֹ (to Him)

עַד־ (until) יְכוֹנֵ֞ן (He establishes), וְעַד־ (and until) יָשִׂ֧ים (He makes) אֶת־ (-) יְרֽוּשָׁלִַ֛ם (Jerusalem)

תְּהִלָּ֖ה (the praise) בָּאָֽרֶץ׃ (of the earth).

8  נִשְׁבַּ֧ע (Has sworn) יְהוָ֛ה (YHWH) בִּֽימִינ֖וֹ (by His right hand),

וּבִזְר֣וֹעַ (and by the arm) עֻזּ֑וֹ (of His strength),

אִם־ (not) אֶתֵּן֩ (I will give) אֶת־ (-) דְּגָנֵ֨ךְ (your grain) ע֤וֹד (any longer)

מַֽאֲכָל֙ (as food) לְאֹ֣יְבַ֔יִךְ (for your enemies);

וְאִם־ (and not) יִשְׁתּ֤וּ (will drink) בְנֵֽי־ (the sons) נֵכָר֙ (of the foreigner) תִּֽירוֹשֵׁ֔ךְ (your new wine),

אֲשֶׁ֥ר (which) יָגַ֖עַתְּ (you have toiled) בּֽוֹ׃ (over it).

9  כִּ֤י (For) מְאַסְפָיו֙ (those who have gathered it) יֹאכְלֻ֔הוּ (will eat it)

וְהִֽלְל֖וּ (and praise) אֶת־ (-) יְהוָ֑ה (YHWH);

וּֽמְקַבְּצָ֥יו (and those harvesting the grapes) יִשְׁתֻּ֖הוּ (will drink)

בְּחַצְר֥וֹת (courts) קָדְשִֽׁי׃ס (in My holy).

10  עִבְר֤וּ (Pass through), עִבְרוּ֙ (Pass through) בַּשְּׁעָרִ֔ים (the gates);

פַּנּ֖וּ (Turn out) דֶּ֣רֶךְ (the way for) הָעָ֑ם (the people);

סֹ֣לּוּ (build up), סֹ֤לּוּ (build up) הַֽמְסִלָּה֙ (the highway);

סַקְּל֣וּ (clear out the rocks) מֵאֶ֔בֶן (of stone);

הָרִ֥ימוּ (raise) נֵ֖ס (a banner) עַל־ (for) הָעַמִּֽים׃ (the nations).

11  הִנֵּ֣ה (Behold), יְהוָ֗ה (YHWH) הִשְׁמִ֙יעַ֙ (has made it heard)

אֶל־ (to) קְצֵ֣ה (the end) הָאָ֔רֶץ (of the earth),

אִמְרוּ֙ (Say) לְבַת־ (to the daughter) צִיּ֔וֹן (of Zion),

הִנֵּ֥ה (behold), יִשְׁעֵ֖ךְ (your salvation) בָּ֑א (is coming);

הִנֵּ֤ה (behold), שְׂכָרוֹ֙ (His reward is) אִתּ֔וֹ (with Him)

וּפְעֻלָּת֖וֹ (and His recompense) לְפָנָֽיו׃ (before His face).

12  וְקָרְא֥וּ (And they will call the name) לָהֶ֛ם (to them) עַם־ (The People), הַקֹּ֖דֶשׁ (of Holiness)

גְּאוּלֵ֣י (The Redeemed) יְהוָ֑ה (of YHWH)

וְלָךְ֙ (and you) יִקָּרֵ֣א (will be called), דְרוּשָׁ֔ה (Sought Out),

עִ֖יר (City) לֹ֥א (not) נֶעֱזָֽבָה׃ס (Forsaken).
