1And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them, “Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill (replenish) the earth. 2And the fear and dread of you shall be upon every animal of the earth, every bird of the air, all that moves upon the earth, and upon all the fish of the sea; into your hand they are delivered. 3Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you; as I have given you the green herb, I give you all these things. 4But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood in it; for life is in the blood – you shall not eat it. 5And I will surely require the blood of anyone who takes another person’s life. If a wild animal kills a person, it also must die. And anyone who murders a fellow human must die. 6Whoever sheds man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed; because mankind was made in the image of God. 7Now be fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly and repopulate the earth.” 8And God said to Noah, and his sons, 9“I hereby establish My covenant with you, with your children after you; 10And with every living creature that was with you, of the birds, cattle, every wild animal of the earth, that came out of the ark with you - to every creature of the earth. 11And I establish this, My covenant, with you: Never shall all flesh be cut off by floodwaters; never again shall a flood destroy the earth.” 12And God said, “This is a token (sign) of this covenant which I make between Me, you, and every living creature that is with you, for all generations to come: 13I shall set My bow (rainbow) in the cloud, and it shall be for a token (sign) of the covenant between Me and the earth. 14And when I bring a cloud over the earth, the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud: 15And I will remember My covenant, which is between Me, you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall never more become a flood to destroy all flesh. 16And whenever the rainbow appears in the cloud; I will look upon it, and remember this everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.” 17And God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant, which I have established between Me and all flesh upon the earth.” 18And the sons of Noah that went out of the ark were Shem, Ham, and Japheth; and Ham is the father of Canaan. 19These are the three sons of Noah, and by them the entire earth was again populated. 20After the flood, Noah began to cultivate the soil, and planted a vineyard. 21And he drank some of its wine, and became drunk; and he lay uncovered inside his tent. 22And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and went outside and told his two brothers. 23Then Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it across their shoulders, and backed into the tent and covered the nakedness of their father; with their faces turned the other way, so that they did not see their father naked. 24And when Noah awoke from his wine stupor, he learned what Ham, his younger son, had done. 25And he said, “Cursed be Canaan! The lowest of servants shall he be to his brothers.” 26And he also said, “Blessed be the LORD, the God of Shem! May Canaan be his servant. 27 May God expand the territory of Japheth, and may he live in the tents of Shem; and Canaan be his servant.” 28And Noah lived three hundred fifty years after the flood. 29And so Noah lived a total of nine hundred fifty years; and then died.
