5 Through him we have received God's kindness and the privilege of being apostles who bring people from every nation to the obedience that is associated with faith. 14 I have an obligation to those who are civilized and those who aren't, to those who are wise and those who aren't. I am under obligation both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to the wise and to the foolish. I am obligated both to Greeks and non-Greeks, both to the wise and the foolish.
15 That's why I'm eager to tell you who live in Rome the Good News also. So I am eager to preach the gospel to you also who are in Rome. That is why I am so eager to preach the gospel also to you who are in Rome.
16 I'm not ashamed of the Good News. It is God's power to save everyone who believes, Jews first and Greeks as well. For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.
17 God's approval is revealed in this Good News. This approval begins and ends with faith as Scripture says, |The person who has God's approval will live by faith.| For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.” For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”
18 God's anger is revealed from heaven against every ungodly and immoral thing people do as they try to suppress the truth by their immoral living. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness,
19 What can be known about God is clear to them because he has made it clear to them. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.
20 From the creation of the world, God's invisible qualities, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly observed in what he made. As a result, people have no excuse. 24 For this reason God allowed their lusts to control them. As a result, they dishonor their bodies by sexual perversion with each other. 25 These people have exchanged God's truth for a lie. So they have become ungodly and serve what is created rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. 26 For this reason God allowed their shameful passions to control them. Their women have exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. 28 And because they thought it was worthless to acknowledge God, God allowed their own immoral minds to control them. So they do these indecent things. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done.
29 Their lives are filled with all kinds of sexual sins, wickedness, and greed. They are mean. They are filled with envy, murder, quarreling, deceit, and viciousness. They are gossips, They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. 30 slanderers, haters of God, haughty, arrogant, and boastful. They think up new ways to be cruel. 32 Although they know God's judgment that those who do such things deserve to die, they not only do these things but also approve of others who do them. Though they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.
