מִזְמ֡וֹר שִׁיר־ חֲנֻכַּ֖ת הַבַּ֣יִת לְדָוִֽד׃ אֲרוֹמִמְךָ֣ יְ֭הוָה כִּ֣י דִלִּיתָ֑נִי וְלֹא־ שִׂמַּ֖חְתָּ אֹיְבַ֣י לִֽי׃ | I will extol you, O LORD, for you have drawn me up and have not let my foes rejoice over me. | A psalm. A song. For the dedication of the temple. Of David. I will exalt you, LORD, for you lifted me out of the depths and did not let my enemies gloat over me. |
יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהָ֑י שִׁוַּ֥עְתִּי אֵ֝לֶ֗יךָ וַתִּרְפָּאֵֽנִי׃ | O LORD my God, I cried to you for help, and you have healed me. | LORD my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me. |
יְֽהוָ֗ה הֶֽעֱלִ֣יתָ מִן־ שְׁא֣וֹל נַפְשִׁ֑י חִ֝יִּיתַ֗נִי [מיורדי־] (מִיָּֽרְדִי־) (בֽוֹר׃) | O LORD, you have brought up my soul from Sheol; you restored me to life from among those who go down to the pit. | You, LORD, brought me up from the realm of the dead; you spared me from going down to the pit. |
זַמְּר֣וּ לַיהוָ֣ה חֲסִידָ֑יו וְ֝הוֹד֗וּ לְזֵ֣כֶר קָדְשֽׁוֹ׃ | Sing praises to the LORD, O you his saints, and give thanks to his holy name. | Sing the praises of the LORD, you his faithful people; praise his holy name. |
כִּ֤י רֶ֨גַע ׀ בְּאַפּוֹ֮ חַיִּ֪ים בִּרְצ֫וֹנ֥וֹ בָּ֭עֶרֶב יָלִ֥ין בֶּ֗כִי וְלַבֹּ֥קֶר רִנָּֽה׃ | For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning. | For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. |
וַ֭אֲנִי אָמַ֣רְתִּי בְשַׁלְוִ֑י בַּל־ אֶמּ֥וֹט לְעוֹלָֽם׃ | As for me, I said in my prosperity, “I shall never be moved.” | When I felt secure, I said, “I will never be shaken.” |
יְֽהוָ֗ה בִּרְצוֹנְךָ֮ הֶעֱמַ֪דְתָּה לְֽהַרְרִ֫י עֹ֥ז הִסְתַּ֥רְתָּ פָנֶ֗יךָ הָיִ֥יתִי נִבְהָֽל׃ | By your favor, O LORD, you made my mountain stand strong; you hid your face; I was dismayed. | LORD, when you favored me, you made my royal mountain stand firm; but when you hid your face, I was dismayed. |
אֵלֶ֣יךָ יְהוָ֣ה אֶקְרָ֑א וְאֶל־ אֲ֝דֹנָ֗י אֶתְחַנָּֽן׃ | To you, O LORD, I cry, and to the Lord I plead for mercy: | To you, LORD, I called; to the Lord I cried for mercy: |
מַה־ בֶּ֥צַע בְּדָמִי֮ בְּרִדְתִּ֪י אֶ֫ל־ שָׁ֥חַת הֲיוֹדְךָ֥ עָפָ֑ר הֲיַגִּ֥יד אֲמִתֶּֽךָ׃ | “What profit is there in my death, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise you? Will it tell of your faithfulness? | “What is gained if I am silenced, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise you? Will it proclaim your faithfulness? |
שְׁמַע־ יְהוָ֥ה וְחָנֵּ֑נִי יְ֝הוָה הֱֽיֵה־ עֹזֵ֥ר לִֽי׃ | Hear, O LORD, and be merciful to me! O LORD, be my helper!” | Hear, LORD, and be merciful to me; LORD, be my help.” |
הָפַ֣כְתָּ מִסְפְּדִי֮ לְמָח֪וֹל לִ֥י פִּתַּ֥חְתָּ שַׂקִּ֑י וַֽתְּאַזְּרֵ֥נִי שִׂמְחָֽה׃ | You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, | You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, |
לְמַ֤עַן ׀ יְזַמֶּרְךָ֣ כָ֭בוֹד וְלֹ֣א יִדֹּ֑ם יְהוָ֥ה אֱ֝לֹהַ֗י לְעוֹלָ֥ם אוֹדֶֽךָּ׃ | that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to you forever! | that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. LORD my God, I will praise you forever. |
