Prayer for the poor when he shall languish, and before Jehovah shall pour out his complaint O Jehovah, hear my prayer, and my cry shall come to thee. Hear my prayer, O LORD; let my cry come to you! A prayer of an afflicted person who has grown weak and pours out a lament before the LORD. Hear my prayer, LORD; let my cry for help come to you.
Thou wilt not hide thy face from me in the day of straits to me; incline thine ear to me: in the day I shall call, speedily answer me. Do not hide your face from me in the day of my distress! Incline your ear to me; answer me speedily in the day when I call! Do not hide your face from me when I am in distress. Turn your ear to me; when I call, answer me quickly.
For my days were finished in smoke, and my bones burnt as fuel. For my days pass away like smoke, and my bones burn like a furnace. For my days vanish like smoke; my bones burn like glowing embers.
My heart was struck and dried up as grass, that I forget eating my bread. My heart is struck down like grass and has withered; I forget to eat my bread. My heart is blighted and withered like grass; I forget to eat my food.
From the voice of my groaning my bone did cleave to my flesh. Because of my loud groaning my bones cling to my flesh. In my distress I groan aloud and am reduced to skin and bones.
I was like to the pelican of the desert: I was as the owl of the dry places. I am like a desert owl of the wilderness, like an owl of the waste places; I am like a desert owl, like an owl among the ruins.
I watched and I shall be as the sparrow being alone upon the roof. I lie awake; I am like a lonely sparrow on the housetop. I lie awake; I have become like a bird alone on a roof.
All the day mine enemies reproached me, they praising me aware against me. All the day my enemies taunt me; those who deride me use my name for a curse. All day long my enemies taunt me; those who rail against me use my name as a curse.
For I ate ashes as bread, and I mingled my drink with weeping. For I eat ashes like bread and mingle tears with my drink, For I eat ashes as my food and mingle my drink with tears
From the face of thine anger and thy wrath: for thou didst lift me up and thou wilt cast me down. because of your indignation and anger; for you have taken me up and thrown me down. because of your great wrath, for you have taken me up and thrown me aside.
My days declining as a shadow, and I shall be dried up as grass. My days are like an evening shadow; I wither away like grass. My days are like the evening shadow; I wither away like grass.
And thou, O Jehovah, wilt remain forever; and thy remembrance to generation And generation. But you, O LORD, are enthroned forever; you are remembered throughout all generations. But you, LORD, sit enthroned forever; your renown endures through all generations.
Thou wilt arise, thou wilt compassionate Zion: for the time to compassionate her for the appointment came. You will arise and have pity on Zion; it is the time to favor her; the appointed time has come. You will arise and have compassion on Zion, for it is time to show favor to her; the appointed time has come.
For thy servants delighted in her stones, and they will compassionate her dust. For your servants hold her stones dear and have pity on her dust. For her stones are dear to your servants; her very dust moves them to pity.
And the nations shall fear the name of Jehovah: and all the kings of the earth thy glory. Nations will fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth will fear your glory. The nations will fear the name of the LORD, all the kings of the earth will revere your glory.
For Jehovah built Zion, he was seen in his glory. For the LORD builds up Zion; he appears in his glory; For the LORD will rebuild Zion and appear in his glory.
He looked upon the prayer of the helpless, and he despised not their prayer. he regards the prayer of the destitute and does not despise their prayer. He will respond to the prayer of the destitute; he will not despise their plea.
This shall be written for a later generation: and a people created shall praise Jah. Let this be recorded for a generation to come, so that a people yet to be created may praise the LORD: Let this be written for a future generation, that a people not yet created may praise the LORD:
For be looked forth from the height of his holy place; from the heavens Jehovah looked upon the earth; that he looked down from his holy height; from heaven the LORD looked at the earth, “The LORD looked down from his sanctuary on high, from heaven he viewed the earth,
To hear the groaning of the bound; to loose the sons of death. to hear the groans of the prisoners, to set free those who were doomed to die, to hear the groans of the prisoners and release those condemned to death.”
To recount in Zion the name of Jehovah, and his praise in Jerusalem. that they may declare in Zion the name of the LORD, and in Jerusalem his praise, So the name of the LORD will be declared in Zion and his praise in Jerusalem
In the gathering of the peoples together, and the kingdoms to serve Jehovah. when peoples gather together, and kingdoms, to worship the LORD. when the peoples and the kingdoms assemble to worship the LORD.
He answered in the way of his strength: he shortened my days. He has broken my strength in midcourse; he has shortened my days. In the course of my life he broke my strength; he cut short my days.
Saying, O my God, thou wilt not take me away in the half of my days: thy years in generations of generations. “O my God,” I say, “take me not away in the midst of my days— you whose years endure throughout all generations!” So I said: “Do not take me away, my God, in the midst of my days; your years go on through all generations.
Before time thou didst found the earth, and the heavens the work of thy hands. Of old you laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.
They shall perish and thou shalt stand. And all they shall fall away as a garment; as clothing thou shalt change them, and they shall be changed. They will perish, but you will remain; they will all wear out like a garment. You will change them like a robe, and they will pass away, They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. Like clothing you will change them and they will be discarded.
And thou the same, and thy years shall not finish. but you are the same, and your years have no end. But you remain the same, and your years will never end.
The sons of thy servants shall abide, and their seed shall be prepared before thee. The children of your servants shall dwell secure; their offspring shall be established before you. The children of your servants will live in your presence; their descendants will be established before you.”
