and he said to his servants, “This is John the Baptist. He has been raised from the dead; that is why these miraculous powers are at work in him.” This is John the Baptist!” he told his servants. “He has been raised from the dead, and that’s why supernatural powers are at work in him.” And said unto his servants, This is John the Baptist; he is risen from the dead; and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him. and said to his servants, “This is John the Baptist; he himself has been raised from the dead, and that is why miraculous powers are at work in him.”
For Herod had seized John and bound him and put him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife, For Herod had arrested John, chained him, and put him in prison on account of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife, For Herod had laid hold on John, and bound him, and put him in prison for Herodias' sake, his brother Philip's wife. 5 And though he wanted to put him to death, he feared the people, because they held him to be a prophet. Though he wanted to kill him, he feared the crowd, since they regarded him as a prophet. And when he would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet. Although Herod wanted to put him to death, he feared the crowd, because they regarded John as a prophet.

Prompted by her mother, she said, “Give me the head of John the Baptist here on a platter.” And prompted by her mother, she answered, “Give me John the Baptist’s head here on a platter!” And she, being before instructed of her mother, said, Give me here John Baptist's head in a charger. And after being prompted by her mother, she said, “Give me the head of John the Baptist here on a platter.”
And the king was sorry, but because of his oaths and his guests he commanded it to be given. Although the king regretted it, he commanded that it be granted because of his oaths and his guests. And the king was sorry: nevertheless for the oath's sake, and them which sat with him at meat, he commanded it to be given her. And although he was grieved, the king commanded it to be given because of his oaths and his dinner guests.
He sent and had John beheaded in the prison, So he sent orders and had John beheaded in the prison. And he sent, and beheaded John in the prison. He sent word and had John beheaded in the prison.
and his head was brought on a platter and given to the girl, and she brought it to her mother. His head was brought on a platter and given to the girl, who carried it to her mother. And his head was brought in a charger, and given to the damsel: and she brought it to her mother. And his head was brought on a platter and given to the girl, and she brought it to her mother.
And his disciples came and took the body and buried it, and they went and told Jesus. Then his disciples came, removed the corpse, buried it, and went and reported to Jesus. And his disciples came, and took up the body, and buried it, and went and told Jesus. John’s disciples came and took away the body and buried it; and they went and reported to Jesus.
Now when Jesus heard this, he withdrew from there in a boat to a desolate place by himself. But when the crowds heard it, they followed him on foot from the towns. When Jesus heard about it, He withdrew from there by boat to a remote place to be alone. When the crowds heard this, they followed Him on foot from the towns. When Jesus heard of it, he departed thence by ship into a desert place apart: and when the people had heard thereof, they followed him on foot out of the cities. Now when Jesus heard about John, He withdrew from there in a boat to a secluded place by Himself; and when the people heard about this, they followed Him on foot from the cities.
When he went ashore he saw a great crowd, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick. As He stepped ashore, He saw a huge crowd, felt compassion for them, and healed their sick. And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick. When He came ashore, He saw a large crowd, and felt compassion for them and healed their sick.
Now when it was evening, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a desolate place, and the day is now over; send the crowds away to go into the villages and buy food for themselves.” When evening came, the disciples approached Him and said, “This place is a wilderness, and it is already late. Send the crowds away so they can go into the villages and buy food for themselves.” And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals. Now when it was evening, the disciples came to Him and said, “This place is secluded and the hour is already past to eat; send the crowds away, so that they may go into the villages and buy food for themselves.”
But Jesus said, “They need not go away; you give them something to eat.” “They don’t need to go away,” Jesus told them. “You give them something to eat.|” But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat. But Jesus said to them, “They do not need to go; you give them something to eat!”
They said to him, “We have only five loaves here and two fish.” But we only have five loaves and two fish here,” they said to Him. And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes. They said to Him, “We have nothing here except five loaves and two fish.”
And he said, “Bring them here to me.” “Bring them here to Me,” He said. He said, Bring them hither to me. And He said, “Bring them here to Me.”
Then he ordered the crowds to sit down on the grass, and taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and said a blessing. Then he broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds. Then He commanded the crowds to sit down on the grass. He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed them. He broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds. And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. And ordering the crowds to sit down on the grass, He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looked up toward heaven. He blessed the food and breaking the loaves, He gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds.
And they all ate and were satisfied. And they took up twelve baskets full of the broken pieces left over. Everyone ate and was filled. Then they picked up 12 baskets full of leftover pieces! And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full. And they all ate and were satisfied, and they picked up what was left over of the broken pieces: twelve full baskets.
And those who ate were about five thousand men, besides women and children. Now those who ate were about 5,000 men, besides women and children. And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children. There were about five thousand men who ate, besides women and children.
Immediately he made the disciples get into the boat and go before him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowds. Immediately He made the disciples get into the boat and go ahead of Him to the other side, while He dismissed the crowds. And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away. Immediately afterward He compelled the disciples to get into the boat and to go ahead of Him to the other side, while He sent the crowds away.
And after he had dismissed the crowds, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone, After dismissing the crowds, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. When evening came, He was there alone. And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone. After He had sent the crowds away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray; and when it was evening, He was there alone.
but the boat by this time was a long way from the land, beaten by the waves, for the wind was against them. But the boat was already over a mile from land, battered by the waves, because the wind was against them. But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. But the boat was already a long distance from the land, battered by the waves; for the wind was contrary.
And in the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea. Around three in the morning, He came toward them walking on the sea. And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. And in the fourth watch of the night He came to them, walking on the sea.
But when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said, “It is a ghost!” and they cried out in fear. When the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost!” they said, and cried out in fear. And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. When the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out in fear.
But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid.” Immediately Jesus spoke to them. “Have courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.|” But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.”
And Peter answered him, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.” Lord, if it’s You,” Peter answered Him, “command me to come to You on the water.” And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. Peter responded and said to Him, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”
He said, “Come.” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus. “Come!” He said. And climbing out of the boat, Peter started walking on the water and came toward Jesus. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. And He said, “Come!” And Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water, and came toward Jesus.
But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me.” But when he saw the strength of the wind, he was afraid. And beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me!” But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. But seeing the wind, he became frightened, and when he began to sink, he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”
Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” Immediately Jesus reached out His hand, caught hold of him, and said to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?” And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? Immediately Jesus reached out with His hand and took hold of him, and said to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?”
And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased. When they got into the boat, the wind ceased. And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased. When they got into the boat, the wind stopped.
And those in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.” Then those in the boat worshiped Him and said, “Truly You are the Son of God!” Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God. And those who were in the boat worshiped Him, saying, “You are truly God’s Son!”
And when they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret. Once they crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret. And when they were gone over, they came into the land of Gennesaret. When they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret.
And when the men of that place recognized him, they sent around to all that region and brought to him all who were sick When the men of that place recognized Him, they alerted the whole vicinity and brought to Him all who were sick. And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent out into all that country round about, and brought unto him all that were diseased; And when the men of that place recognized Him, they sent word into all that surrounding region and brought to Him all who were sick;
and implored him that they might only touch the fringe of his garment. And as many as touched it were made well. They were begging Him that they might only touch the tassel on His robe. And as many as touched it were made perfectly well. And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole. and they pleaded with Him that they might just touch the border of His cloak; and all who touched it were cured.
