1	Now at the same time, some were present, reporting to Him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate mixed with their sacrifices.	There were some present at that very time who told him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.	Now there were some present at that time who told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices.
2	And answering, He said to them, “Do you⁺ think that these Galileans were sinners beyond all the Galileans, because they have suffered these things?	And he answered them, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered in this way?	Jesus answered, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way?
3	No, I say to you⁺; but unless you⁺ repent, you⁺ will all likewise perish.	No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.	I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.
4	Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell, and it killed them: Do you⁺ think that these were debtors beyond all the men dwelling in Jerusalem?	Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them: do you think that they were worse offenders than all the others who lived in Jerusalem?	Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them—do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem?
5	No, I say to you⁺; but unless you⁺ repent, you⁺ will all likewise perish.”	No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.”	I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.”
6	And He was speaking this parable: “A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it, and he did not find any.	And he told this parable: “A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none.	Then he told this parable: “A man had a fig tree growing in his vineyard, and he went to look for fruit on it but did not find any.
7	And he said to the vinedresser, ‘Behold, for these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree and do not find it. Therefore cut it down! Why does it also render the soil useless?’	And he said to the vinedresser, ‘Look, for three years now I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and I find none. Cut it down. Why should it use up the ground?’	So he said to the man who took care of the vineyard, ‘For three years now I’ve been coming to look for fruit on this fig tree and haven’t found any. Cut it down! Why should it use up the soil?’
8	And answering, he says to him, ‘Sir, leave it this year also, until I may dig around it and put in manure,	And he answered him, ‘Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and put on manure.	“’Sir,’ the man replied, ‘leave it alone for one more year, and I’ll dig around it and fertilize it.
9	and if indeed it should make fruit in the time, so be it. But if not, you will cut it down.’”	Then if it should bear fruit next year, well and good; but if not, you can cut it down.’”	If it bears fruit next year, fine! If not, then cut it down.’”
10	And He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbaths.	Now he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath.	On a Sabbath Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues,
11	And behold, a woman having a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and she was bent over and not able to lift herself up to the full.	And behold, there was a woman who had had a disabling spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not fully straighten herself.	and a woman was there who had been crippled by a spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not straighten up at all.
12	And having seen her, Jesus called her near and said to her, “Woman, you have been freed from your infirmity.”	When Jesus saw her, he called her over and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your disability.”	When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said to her, “Woman, you are set free from your infirmity.”
13	And He laid the hands on her, and immediately she was set upright and was glorifying God.	And he laid his hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and she glorified God.	Then he put his hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and praised God.
14	And answering, the synagogue ruler, indignant because Jesus healed on the Sabbath, was saying to the crowd, “There are six days in which it is necessary to work. Therefore, coming, be healed in these, and not on the day of the Sabbath.”	But the ruler of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the people, “There are six days in which work ought to be done. Come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day.”	Indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, the synagogue leader said to the people, “There are six days for work. So come and be healed on those days, not on the Sabbath.”
15	But the Lord answered him and said, “Hypocrites! Does not each one of you⁺ loose his ox or donkey from the stall on the Sabbath, and having led it away, give to it to drink?	Then the Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Does not each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from the manger and lead it away to water it?	The Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Doesn’t each of you on the Sabbath untie your ox or donkey from the stall and lead it out to give it water?
16	And this one, being a daughter of Abraham whom Satan bound, behold, eighteen years, was it not necessary for her to be loosed from this bond on the day of the Sabbath?”	And ought not this woman, a daughter of Abraham whom Satan bound for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day?”	Then should not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be set free on the Sabbath day from what bound her?”
17	And on His saying these things, all those opposed to Him were ashamed; and all the crowd was rejoicing at all the glorious things that were being done by Him.	As he said these things, all his adversaries were put to shame, and all the people rejoiced at all the glorious things that were done by him.	When he said this, all his opponents were humiliated, but the people were delighted with all the wonderful things he was doing.
18	And He was saying, “What is the kingdom of God like? And to what will I liken it?	He said therefore, “What is the kingdom of God like? And to what shall I compare it?	Then Jesus asked, “What is the kingdom of God like? What shall I compare it to?
19	It is like a grain of mustard that a man, having taken, cast into his garden; and it grew and became a tree, and the birds of the sky lodged in its branches.”	It is like a grain of mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his garden, and it grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air made nests in its branches.”	It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his garden. It grew and became a tree, and the birds perched in its branches.”
20	And again, He said, “To what shall I liken the kingdom of God?	And again he said, “To what shall I compare the kingdom of God?	Again he asked, “What shall I compare the kingdom of God to?
21	It is like leaven that a woman, having taken it, hid in three measures of flour, until it all was leavened.”	It is like leaven that a woman took and hid in three measures of flour, until it was all leavened.”	It is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into about sixty pounds of flour until it worked all through the dough.”
22	And He was going through by towns and villages, teaching and making progress toward Jerusalem.	He went on his way through towns and villages, teaching and journeying toward Jerusalem.	Then Jesus went through the towns and villages, teaching as he made his way to Jerusalem.
23	And someone said to Him, “Lord, are those being saved few?” And He said to them,	And someone said to him, “Lord, will those who are saved be few?” And he said to them,	Someone asked him, “Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?” He said to them,
24	“Strive to enter through the narrow door, because many, I say to you⁺, will seek to enter and will not be able.	“Strive to enter through the narrow door. For many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able.	“Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to.
25	From that time the master of the house shall have risen up and shall have shut the door, then you⁺ shall begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, open to us.’ And answering, he will say to you⁺, ‘I do not know from where you⁺ are.’	When once the master of the house has risen and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, open to us,’ then he will answer you, ‘I do not know where you come from.’	Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Sir, open the door for us.’ “But he will answer, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’
26	Then you⁺ will begin to say, ‘We ate in your presence, and we drank, and you taught in our streets.’	Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’	“Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’
27	And he will say, ‘I am saying to you⁺, I do not know from where you⁺ are; depart from me, all you⁺ workers of unrighteousness.’	But he will say, ‘I tell you, I do not know where you come from. Depart from me, all you workers of evil!’	“But he will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!’
28	There will be weeping and gnashing of the teeth when you⁺ shall see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you⁺ are being cast outside.	In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God but you yourselves cast out.	“There will be weeping there, and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves thrown out.
29	And they will come from east and west and from north and south and will recline in the kingdom of God.	And people will come from east and west, and from north and south, and recline at table in the kingdom of God.	People will come from east and west and north and south, and will take their places at the feast in the kingdom of God.
30	And behold, there are last who will be first, and there are first who will be last.”	And behold, some are last who will be first, and some are first who will be last.”	Indeed there are those who are last who will be first, and first who will be last.”
31	In the same hour, some Pharisees came near, saying to Him, “Go out and proceed from here, because Herod wants to kill You.”	At that very hour some Pharisees came and said to him, “Get away from here, for Herod wants to kill you.”	At that time some Pharisees came to Jesus and said to him, “Leave this place and go somewhere else. Herod wants to kill you.”
32	And He said to them, “Having gone, say to this fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and I complete cures today and tomorrow, and the third day, I am accomplished.’	And he said to them, “Go and tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I finish my course.	He replied, “Go tell that fox, ‘I will keep on driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach my goal.’
33	But it is necessary for Me to proceed today and tomorrow and the following day, because it is not permissible for a prophet to perish outside of Jerusalem.	Nevertheless, I must go on my way today and tomorrow and the day following, for it cannot be that a prophet should perish away from Jerusalem.’	In any case, I must press on today and tomorrow and the next day—for surely no prophet can die outside Jerusalem!
34	O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, killing the prophets and stoning those sent to her, how often I willed to gather your children, the way that a hen does her brood under the wings, and you⁺ were not willing.	O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing!	“Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing.
35	Behold, your⁺ house is left to you⁺. And I say to you⁺, you⁺ shall not see Me until it will come when you⁺ say, ‘Blessed is the One coming in the name of the Lord.’”	Behold, your house is forsaken. And I tell you, you will not see me until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!’”	Look, your house is left to you desolate. I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’”
