1 The wilderness and the land will be glad; the desert will rejoice and blossom like a rose. The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad; the desert shall rejoice and blossom like the crocus; The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose. The wilderness and the desert will rejoice, And the desert will shout for joy and blossom; Like the crocus The desert and the parched land will be glad; the wilderness will rejoice and blossom. 2 It will bloom profusely and rejoice with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon will be given to it, the splendor of Carmel and Sharon. They will see the glory of the LORD, the splendor of our God. it shall blossom abundantly and rejoice with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, the majesty of Carmel and Sharon. They shall see the glory of the LORD, the majesty of our God. It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the LORD, <i>and</i> the excellency of our God. It will blossom profusely And rejoice with joy and jubilation. The glory of Lebanon will be given to it, The majesty of Carmel and Sharon. They will see the glory of the LORD, The majesty of our God. it will burst into bloom; it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy. The glory of Lebanon will be given to it, the splendor of Carmel and Sharon; they will see the glory of the LORD, the splendor of our God.
3 Strengthen the limp hands and steady the feeble knees! Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees. Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees. Strengthen the exhausted, and make the feeble strong. Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way;
4 Say to those with anxious hearts: “Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance. With divine retribution He will come to save you.” Say to those who have an anxious heart, “Be strong; fear not! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you.” Say to them <i>that are</i> of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come <i>with</i> vengeance, <i>even</i> God <i>with</i> a recompence; he will come and save you. Say to those with anxious heart, “Take courage, fear not. Behold, your God will come <i>with</i> vengeance; The retribution of God will come, But He will save you.” say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you.”
5 Then the eyes of the blind will be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped. Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf unstopped; Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Then the eyes of those who are blind will be opened, And the ears of those who are deaf will be unstopped. Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped.
6 Then the lame will leap like a deer and the mute tongue will shout for joy. For waters will gush forth in the wilderness, and streams in the desert. then shall the lame man leap like a deer, and the tongue of the mute sing for joy. For waters break forth in the wilderness, and streams in the desert; Then shall the lame <i>man</i> leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert. Then those who limp will leap like a deer, And the tongue of those who cannot speak will shout for joy. For waters will burst forth in the wilderness, And streams in the desert. Then will the lame leap like a deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy. Water will gush forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert.
7 The parched ground will become a pool, the thirsty land springs of water. In the haunt where jackals once lay, there will be grass and reeds and papyrus. the burning sand shall become a pool, and the thirsty ground springs of water; in the haunt of jackals, where they lie down, the grass shall become reeds and rushes. And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, <i>shall be</i> grass with reeds and rushes. The scorched land will become a pool And the thirsty ground springs of water; In the haunt of jackals, its resting place, Grass <i>becomes</i> reeds and rushes. The burning sand will become a pool, the thirsty ground bubbling springs. In the haunts where jackals once lay, grass and reeds and papyrus will grow.
8 And there will be a highway called the Way of Holiness. The unclean will not travel it— only those who walk in the Way— and fools will not stray onto it. And a highway shall be there, and it shall be called the Way of Holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it. It shall belong to those who walk on the way; even if they are fools, they shall not go astray. And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it <i>shall be</i> for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err <i>therein</i>. A highway will be there, a roadway, And it will be called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean will not travel on it, But it <i>will</i> be for the one who walks <i>that</i> way, And fools will not wander <i>on it.</i> And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness; it will be for those who walk on that Way. The unclean will not journey on it; wicked fools will not go about on it.
9 No lion will be there, and no vicious beast will go up on it. Such will not be found there, but the redeemed will walk upon it. No lion shall be there, nor shall any ravenous beast come up on it; they shall not be found there, but the redeemed shall walk there. No lion shall be there, nor <i>any</i> ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk <i>there</i>: No lion will be there, Nor will any vicious animal go up on it; They will not be found there. But the redeemed will walk <i>there,</i> No lion will be there, nor any ravenous beast; they will not be found there. But only the redeemed will walk there,
10 So the redeemed of the LORD will return and enter Zion with singing, crowned with everlasting joy. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee. And the ransomed of the LORD shall return and come to Zion with singing; everlasting joy shall be upon their heads; they shall obtain gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away. And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away. And the redeemed of the LORD will return And come to Zion with joyful shouting, And everlasting joy will be on their heads. They will obtain gladness and joy, And sorrow and sighing will flee away. and those the LORD has rescued will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.
