1 And God blessed Noe and his sons. And he said to them: Increase and multiply, and fill the earth. And God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth. Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth.
2 And let the fear and dread of you be upon all the beasts of the earth, and upon all the fowls of the air, and all that move upon the earth: all the fishes of the sea are delivered into your hand. The fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth and upon every bird of the heavens, upon everything that creeps on the ground and all the fish of the sea. Into your hand they are delivered. The fear and dread of you will fall on all the beasts of the earth, and on all the birds in the sky, on every creature that moves along the ground, and on all the fish in the sea; they are given into your hands.
3 And every thing that moveth and liveth shall be meat for you: even as the green herbs have I delivered them all to you: Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. And as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything. Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.
4 Saving that flesh with blood you shall not eat. But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood. “But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it.
5 For I will require the blood of your lives at the hand of every beast, and at the hand of man, at the hand of every man, and of his brother, will I require the life of man. And for your lifeblood I will require a reckoning: from every beast I will require it and from man. From his fellow man I will require a reckoning for the life of man. And for your lifeblood I will surely demand an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal. And from each human being, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of another human being.
6 Whosoever shall shed man's blood, his blood shall be shed: for man was made to the image of God. “Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in his own image. “Whoever sheds human blood, by humans shall their blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made mankind.
7 But increase you and multiply, and go upon the earth, and fill it. And you, be fruitful and multiply, increase greatly on the earth and multiply in it.” As for you, be fruitful and increase in number; multiply on the earth and increase upon it.”
8 This also said God to Noe, and to his sons with him, Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him, Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him:
9 Behold I will establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you: “Behold, I establish my covenant with you and your offspring after you, “I now establish my covenant with you and with your descendants after you
10 And with every living soul that is with you, as well in all birds as in cattle and beasts of the earth, that are come forth out of the ark, and in all the beasts of the earth. and with every living creature that is with you, the birds, the livestock, and every beast of the earth with you, as many as came out of the ark; it is for every beast of the earth. and with every living creature that was with you—the birds, the livestock and all the wild animals, all those that came out of the ark with you—every living creature on earth.
11 I will establish my covenant with you, and all flesh shall be no more destroyed with the waters of a flood, neither shall there be from henceforth a flood to waste the earth. I establish my covenant with you, that never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood, and never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth.” I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.”
12 And God said: This is the sign of the covenant which I will give between me and you, and to every living soul that is with you, for perpetual generations. And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations: And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come:
13 I will set my bow in the clouds, and it shall be the sign of a covenant between me, and between the earth. I have set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth. I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.
14 And when I shall cover the sky with clouds, my bow shall appear in the clouds: When I bring clouds over the earth and the bow is seen in the clouds, Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds,
15 And I will remember my covenant with you, and with every living soul that beareth flesh: and there shall no more be waters of a flood to destroy all flesh. I will remember my covenant that is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh. And the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life.
16 And the bow shall be in the clouds, and I shall see it, and shall remember the everlasting covenant, that was made between God and every living soul of all flesh which is upon the earth. When the bow is in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.” Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”
17 And God said to Noe: This shall be the sign of the covenant which I have established between me and all flesh upon the earth. God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant that I have established between me and all flesh that is on the earth.” So God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth.”
18 And the sons of Noe who came out of the ark, were Sem, Cham, and Japheth: and Cham is the father of Chanaan. The sons of Noah who went forth from the ark were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. (Ham was the father of Canaan.) The sons of Noah who came out of the ark were Shem, Ham and Japheth. (Ham was the father of Canaan.)
19 These three are the sons of Noe: and from these was all mankind spread over the whole earth. These three were the sons of Noah, and from these the people of the whole earth were dispersed. These were the three sons of Noah, and from them came the people who were scattered over the whole earth.
20 And Noe, a husbandman, began to till the ground, and planted a vineyard. Noah began to be a man of the soil, and he planted a vineyard. Noah, a man of the soil, proceeded to plant a vineyard.
21 And drinking of the wine was made drunk, and was uncovered in his tent. He drank of the wine and became drunk and lay uncovered in his tent. When he drank some of its wine, he became drunk and lay uncovered inside his tent.
22 Which when Cham the father of Chaanan had seen, to wit, that his father's nakedness was uncovered, he told it to his two brethren without. And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father and told his two brothers outside. Ham, the father of Canaan, saw his father naked and told his two brothers outside.
23 But Sem and Japheth put a cloak upon their shoulders, and going backward, covered the nakedness of their father: and their faces were turned away, and they saw not their father's nakedness. Then Shem and Japheth took a garment, laid it on both their shoulders, and walked backward and covered the nakedness of their father. Their faces were turned backward, and they did not see their father’s nakedness. But Shem and Japheth took a garment and laid it across their shoulders; then they walked in backward and covered their father’s naked body. Their faces were turned the other way so that they would not see their father naked.
24 And Noe awaking from the wine, when he had learned what his younger son had done to him, When Noah awoke from his wine and knew what his youngest son had done to him, When Noah awoke from his wine and found out what his youngest son had done to him,
25 He said: Cursed be Chaanan, a servant of servants, shall he be unto his brethren. he said, “Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be to his brothers.” he said, “Cursed be Canaan! The lowest of slaves will he be to his brothers.”
26 And he said: Blessed be the Lord God of Sem, be Chanaan his servant. He also said, “Blessed be the LORD, the God of Shem; and let Canaan be his servant. He also said, “Praise be to the LORD, the God of Shem! May Canaan be the slave of Shem.
27 May God enlarge Japheth, and may he dwell in the tents of Sem, and Chanaan be his servant. May God enlarge Japheth, and let him dwell in the tents of Shem, and let Canaan be his servant.” May God extend Japheth’s territory; may Japheth live in the tents of Shem, and may Canaan be the slave of Japheth.”
28 And Noe lived after the flood three hundred and fifty years: After the flood Noah lived 350 years. After the flood Noah lived 350 years.
29 And all his days were in the whole nine hundred and fifty years: and he died. All the days of Noah were 950 years, and he died. Noah lived a total of 950 years, and then he died.
